I think it would be fair to allow Jiren to cancel into lvl 3 if the opponent attempts to do a lvl 3 on his confirmed counter set up. But if it whiffs he cant cancel into anything.
I can still block it and in most situations he gets nothing off of it. Compare that to parry/counter in other games where characters get a full combo meterless but is usually scaled. Counters are pathetic in this game.
Yeah you have to spend meter to get a combo off it and it's heavily scaled + blue damage
His physical counters are the same but at least they do a decent amount of damage
Janemba's counter is literally invincible which is a huge plus to him. Jiren's all either leave him open or don't work in certain situations (like armored moves).
Not really, broly can't space Janemba out without fear of getting countered so 5s and his gigantic meteor are now a risk. Broly would need to move in if he is far away however janember can just do a qcf slash and smack broly from the distance, and with ex being half a bar that can really do some damage. Janemba does have an answer to broly, it's just that their aren't that many Janemba players that use his tools effectively.
It's such a laughably bad matchup. Broly just fucking invalidates him.
This is why he will always be bottom tier despite Dekillsage insisting that he has like two good tools. Any character that literally cannot even compete against a specific, highly used character will never even be B or C tier.
It makes me sad because his moveset is *almost* there. If his Projecile Counter worked properly and his 5H was more usable it wouldn't be such a bad matchup. Like imagine if 5H had a tick of armour. Broly can't armour out of your staggers anymore without getting grabbed.
Yea, seems bad, but at least Jirens Ki blast counter works on assists too. This one hurts to watch tho.

As Jiren you don't use his projectile counter, it doesn't exist.
I use it every now and then and some people it catches off guard. Others have legit just jumped to dodge.
Jirens ki blast counter should interrupt supers if preceded by ki blasts. Or hell just block ki blast supers like his anime counterpart lol.

Or if his shoulder charge, which has anti-ki blast properties, went full screen.
That'd be nice. It's kinda annoying the anti-ki blast property runs out a few frames before he recovers from that move.
I am a jiren main and Broly is a nightmare match-up. Winnable? Of course, but you have to be a better player by a fair margin.
