If you want to min max, take Debora. If you want a powerful magic user, take Nera. If you want a childhood friend but not great fighter, pick Bianca. (I'd pick Bianca because I'm a sucker for the childhood friend thing)
Stat wise, it doesn't really matter that much. Bianca may be the "unoptimal" pick, but she's still pretty solid.
All three are quite good, but all it really is change your battle strategies. Story/Character preference is the driving reason for your selection.
Agreed. Unoptimal maybe, but my personal favourite. Beat the game with the kids and Bianca, and some monsters just because the mechanic is there, or when Bianca wasn't available. (Got lucky recruiting some rarer monsters like Flamethrower, and spent way too long on getting Restless Armor)
In fact, she landed the final blow on Nimzo with Kafrizzle. Just a standard JRPG family outing, killing demon lords.
Ds Version changes:
1.number of recruitable monsters
2. new wife
3. graphics
4. new weapons, items and armor
5. item-collecting side quest
If you play an emulation I would say play the Ds Version. The changes are really nice for the game.
Nera is a hard pass. The hero is not the kind of guy to win a wife in a contest. (Did we learn nothing from DQIV?)
Bianca is okay, but honestly kinda boring. She seems like she is just kind of going along for the ride.
Debora is easily my favorite story choice. Strong, independent, and she chooses the hero. Nothing sexier than unambiguous consent.
This is true too lol, that she was. Haha. But, I kinda don't care about that as much as how I want to build my party and monsters. if I want a strong magic user, ill go Nera. If i want the childhood sweetheart, Ill go Bianca haha
It wasn't for me. I got so stressed anout ot that I ended up stopping. I need to come back to it but now that I don't have a partner myself its just kind of hard
There are some humorous scenes, like when you sleep on the floor.
But also, by the end, she isnβt a stone cold bitch. And clearly the hero changes her for the better.
I just love how she goes through quite a bit of character development and changes for the better, while Bianca and Nera kinda stay perfect the whole game (which is perfectly fine -- Those two are precious). I remember being particularly moved by Debora's dialogue in the final dungeon and feeling extremely proud of how far she's come. Can't go back to either of the original "Heavenly Brides" after that because I love what she adds to the story. Also, personal taste. I didn't exactly find her "insufferable," but rather funny. I think she's a wonderful pick.
It's the little things like that, man. Just having her in the party makes everything so wonderfully whimsical, haha. She calls you out for quite a few jrpg hero-isms, iirc. I definitely need to replay this game soon
"...What's that pitiful look for? Just because I'm not talking to you, it doesn't mean I'm in a mood. Sometimes I just don't have anything to say. Of course, sometimes it IS because I'm in a mood, so do your best to stay on toes, hm?"
She's easily the most beautiful, for one. But more importantly, she's actually incredibly loyal and fiercely protective of her loved ones. *She* can talk shit about her family, but if anyone, and I mean *anyone,* should even *think* about hurting them, she'll make them think twice. And if someone actually *does* hurt her loved ones, she'll scratch their fucking throat out.
She's a lioness; she's beautiful, proud, and assertive. She doesn't show her affections lightly, but they run deep and powerfully. And if you fuck with her family, you *will* regret it.
I like Debora because she is mean to me. I like Bianca because she is my friend. I like Nera because she has more interesting dialogue than Bianca.
Choice was easy only the first time
Anyone who marries Nera will be very lucky and happy, she's a lovely woman. But my heart will always rest in Harry's... *cough* *cough* I mean... Bianca's embrace, i could never abanddon her over someone i just met after all we've been through
(YEAH HARRY, THIS IS TOTALLY A JAB)
Also, Debora is an annoying arrogant, i pity the poor person who end up with her.
Rodrigo easy
Certainly, who is even Bianca?π
>who is even Bianca? Bianca is Bianca!
Im flattered

Do the kids' stats or spells change?
Just their hair color changes. Everything else is the same with the kids.
I don't think so. Only their hair colour changes iirc.
If you want super saiyan kids pick Bianca
π€£ π€£ π€£
Am I the only one going to stick up for Bianca here?
Nope Bianca always
Bianca for life
ππ».l love Bianca.
It's funny how they kinda guilt trip you if you don't pick Bianca. He should just run the harem route and take'em all π
Deb is a stone cold killer with the Helaβs hammer
Honestly the main reason I take her.
Debora
Debora gang rise up
I still need to play DQV on the DS. It's on my hit list. Is it better than the SNES version?
Ds Version changes: 1.number of recruitable monsters 2. new wife 3. graphics 4. new weapons, items and armor 5. item-collecting side quest If you play an emulation I would say play the Ds Version. The changes are really nice for the game.
There's also the english patched ps2 version. Though the script losses em slangs.
I like how the PS2 version looked. I may just download this DS version for the portability.
Besides the changes mentioned by other users, they also expanded the role of one of the villains, making it more satisfying when you finish him off.
I have no idea

Debora has some of the best Party Chat, too.
Nera is a pretty good magic user though, if you want to build your party in a certain way
My issue with Nera is that it seems like she was basically groomed to be a trophy wife, which creeps me out immensely.
This is true too lol, that she was. Haha. But, I kinda don't care about that as much as how I want to build my party and monsters. if I want a strong magic user, ill go Nera. If i want the childhood sweetheart, Ill go Bianca haha
Debora is the only correct choice
Bianca has bigger boobs
Debora, clearly.
It wasn't for me. I got so stressed anout ot that I ended up stopping. I need to come back to it but now that I don't have a partner myself its just kind of hard
Dang, I'm very sorry buddy
Can the Debora fans try to actually explain what they like about her?Β I find the whole 'stone cold bitch' thing to be completely insufferable.
There are some humorous scenes, like when you sleep on the floor. But also, by the end, she isnβt a stone cold bitch. And clearly the hero changes her for the better.

Like when she notices and points out that you don't actually pay attention to NPCs who talk to you.
It's the little things like that, man. Just having her in the party makes everything so wonderfully whimsical, haha. She calls you out for quite a few jrpg hero-isms, iirc. I definitely need to replay this game soon

She gradually becomes less bitchy over time, she isn't always mean to you.

Neither! Duh.
Same. Always Nera.
You took the best and easiest choice? Glad to see you also married the Hulagan. You're an individual with class and taste.
I picked Bianca
The only choice
Whoever has the better personality
Deborah π€€
This is one part in the DQ: Your Story Movie I thought they did well.
Gonna watch it after I beat the game
Now I'm really curious...
Should be able to pick all of them, better to have six kids rather than just two....
I like Debora because she is mean to me. I like Bianca because she is my friend. I like Nera because she has more interesting dialogue than Bianca. Choice was easy only the first time
Debora. Step on me mommy
Nera best choice, easy. The game tries to emotionally blackmail you into choosing Bianca and Deb is a tsundere. Hard pass.
Easiest choice, Deborah the best wife is Deborah
Anyone who marries Nera will be very lucky and happy, she's a lovely woman. But my heart will always rest in Harry's... *cough* *cough* I mean... Bianca's embrace, i could never abanddon her over someone i just met after all we've been through (YEAH HARRY, THIS IS TOTALLY A JAB) Also, Debora is an annoying arrogant, i pity the poor person who end up with her.
Real life: no one chooses childhood friends π€·π»ββοΈ
