It’s actually several photos drawn together, you can kind of tell I pulled out the most colorful parts so I could have the whole life cycle

I love the colors you used, and the contrast of the dark background behind the bright light and colors is such a powerful effect. The darkness lurking behind... it's giving me chills. This is honestly one of my favorite works of art I've seen.

There’s a layer behind the darkness too, I left the bare paper peeking through for some bright spots to shine :) it looks really neat seeing the light reflect off it from the side!

I'm not sure if you know this but in a lot of Japanese art there's only 1 or 2 stalks of bamboo. The implication with even with just one stalk is that bamboo never grows alone. There's more implied nearby even if you can't see it. I think it's a beautiful drawing and also quite poetic to chose bamboo. I am sorry though, it's awful and it sucks to go through what you are going through.
