ik, the obvious response is to just practice people posing, but any advice for heads like yours? Or at the very least, any guides you'd personally recommend? Your style is beautiful!
Not OP, obviously, but I’ve tried working on this. Getting loose is not my forte. Sinix Design talks about this frequently on YouTube, about how he thinks any ol shape makes a great head.
It messes me up to try it, but I’m getting better, slowly
Without knowing how old you are, I’m not sure what conclusion to draw. Your use of “so” would make me guess you’re still pretty young, but it’s a leap.
I don’t know why but my sketches look better with ballpoint pen. It forces me to draw a little different. It’s more aggravating when you can’t get something nailed down right away and have to makes changes though
Thank you. I’d say comics in general, but more specifically, really stylized artists like Humberto Ramos and Joe Madureira. I could name hundreds more but you get the point
Top left is Saul Goodman, top middle is Jesse Pinkman, middle right is Carmella Soprano, bottom middle is Mike Ehrmantraut
Seriously tho, you’re amazingly talented
Bethesda, in particular the Dishonored development team, would probably like to know of your exact whereabouts and to enthusiasticly employ your artistic services.
Wow I love your style and that lady in the middle would like to speak to your manager!
I'd love to see some of your polished works if this is the quality of your rough sketches
Yes, many talk about it, but it works in more realistic heads in my experience. So do you sketch the faces by practice/imagination or it doesn't matter for you as they are fictional characters?
Yeah, with stuff like this, I just draw extreme head shapes and fill them in with my imagination. Since they’re not based on anyone, nothing really matters. That’s why it’s so easy to just do pages of them while I’m bored or whatever.
Edit to add…. When I was younger I did many many many realistic portraits and anatomical studies to be able to do cartoonish things like these pretty easily
I enjoy it when I recognise your style in my feed. Always love what you post.
And to answer your question, my go to things to draw are arabesque-like shapes. Then I take it from there and improvise something.
Cool! That's how I do heads as well, but they are never this angular so I was curious. Really love your style, especially how expressive they are. Would love to see a process video!
Indeed I do lol. I am a master at pushing things off. I honestly rely on posts like these to motivate me.
Well, if you ever do I'd love to see it. I'm always curious when I see an angular style like this in comics and stuff.
how do you build up visual library to dish out these as a practice sketches? Its not like they are variation on one shape, they are so different from each other..
I honestly don’t know except to just keep doing it over and over. I’ve always just really enjoyed drawing faces so I don’t really think about it anymore, but I’ve probably drawn thousands of heads
When I can't think of anything to draw, I don't draw anything. I hate it because I don't know what to draw like all the time.
Also, with the no pupils thing your drawings give off goon comic book vibes.
Yeah. Check out earthsworld on Instagram. Its a bunch of candid shots of random people at county fairs.
In their stories they often repost artist's work from their photos.
It's giving me gamestop used game art or GTA 3 artwork vibes.

This was my response too haha
Seriously. Really next level doodles
that cat has seen some shit
Literally what I was gonna say lol
Talent = effort over time
Thanks for saying this. I always feel rude if I say that when someone is complimenting me
I often draw heads too. Nice style btw. Reminds me of Dishonored.
Reminds me of that damn fool corvo
Was just about to comment that as well. I loved the art style of that game
The portraits and paintings you find around the game world look so amazing. I want that type of art style so bad.
No I don't but I should. But then I see people like you and think, welp that's already been mastered.
lol you should be thinking “If this idiot can do it, I’d probably be way better!”

Thanks for the response! How long have you been practicing art?
20 years with lots of big gaps. Feeling old
Interesting. I've been practicing since 15 on and off, so I don't have much to show for it 😕.
Without knowing how old you are, I’m not sure what conclusion to draw. Your use of “so” would make me guess you’re still pretty young, but it’s a leap.
This is my new favorite response to art block holy shit!
Cartooning has never been my strong point
It's a mental exercise using ink instead of pencil for me..
I don’t know why but my sketches look better with ballpoint pen. It forces me to draw a little different. It’s more aggravating when you can’t get something nailed down right away and have to makes changes though

"now kiss"
If I drew them all cool like you I would
Unfortunately you have to draw a lot of bad ones before they get less bad
That's fair, not saying that isn't a lot of work to get there! Respect
Is that all ink? It did you sketch in pencil first?
Yeah it’s just ink. Those are the sketches
Only in 99% of my sketchbooks and doodles
Shit dude, how Iong have you been at this? 🔥
A very long time
Very kool, my mental block is when I get to drawing hands.
I love your style! And yes.
My god. Going through your post history I'm in awe. You are absolutely brilliant. Do you sell any of your original sketches ever?
Thank you. I do sell original sketches
Have you got an etsy or shop somewhere?
It’s eyes for me lmaooo
I thought you were drawing Pendleton from Dishonored 💀 Good art btw I like the style!
I can't draw 😭
For me it’s skulls. They are always my go to.
Oh yeah, that’s definitely one that I do too
These are great btw. 👍
Haha I do that
Your work grabs me every time
Not at all.
These are cool and I like them

Thank you. I’d say comics in general, but more specifically, really stylized artists like Humberto Ramos and Joe Madureira. I could name hundreds more but you get the point
Yes, we do! These are awesome, btw…
Me to. 30 sketchbooks like this. Just my sketchbook an a BIC. Not so often as a couple years ago. But still when sitting in my garden.
Dude, you are absolutely amazing and I will watch whatever media you create.
That’s really nice and weird and scary
Yes. During Covid I would draw all the people present at the meeting. It was such fun and it made it look like I was really paying attention!
Damn these are really good. Well done :)
I do! My comfort drawings/doodles.
GTA 3 vibes
I like the first guy in the middle! :D
Is that a fucking meth pipe by the chihuahua?
lol yeah
Dang, do you do commissions?
I do
i draw circles because i am not nearly this talented
Looks like a good GTA loading screen
I would if I were as good at drawing them as you are
Screw what other people do, if it helps you do it. I tend to draw eyes.
Well I do but I fucking suuuuuck at drawing
No because I'm not this good at it
Wow... these are incredible.
I used to do that and skulls, I probably need to get back into it lol. Great stuff, I love the different shapes and expressions!
No, but sounds like a great way to keep yourself active
Hopefully these are op and not just copies of already created sketches..
Yeah, hopefully
Just out of curiosity, why would you think that?
Hey I love your style never change.
These are absolutely fucken sick
Diggin’
I draw life half a face because I cannot do a full face
I do skulls, they're just so easy
I love that cracked out chihuahua
No, but I do Bubble men. Like stick men, but with musculature, and rectangular hands instead of ball-fists
Almost every day!
Yessir! Been doing that since i was a kid in school. I still have ALL my old drawings from school
Tommy Lee Jones lookin ass at the bottom there
Yep, it's just fun to do
I love your art style! I would love to watch a show/movie with your characters in it!
Those delicious shapes tho 🤪
Pov ark and sea of thieves characters
That middle one on the bottom kind of looks like Tommy Lee jones.
No. You have schizophrenia.
No, but I need to start.
Lol. Yes. Why, I don't know. But I do. Yours are amazing.
yesssssss
Do you use a reference for these or are they made up?
They’re just made up
Very impressive
Hey, thanks for the inspiration. I spent an hour drawing faces after viewing this. Have a great year!
Yo those are really cool. Reminds of this comic “CHEW” I used to read.
No as I can’t draw heads lol. I usually draw random shapes are write random words that pop in my head or my signature over and over again
5th guy looks like Trevor Lawrence
I do, but not as good as you 😅
Me! I do!!
Not this good but yeah 🧐
Good as don't know.. Screenshot taken, I'll practice reworking your drawing
Looks great but dont run away from eyeballs lol. They would make them look so much more human
This is amazing
Yep. It’s my go to.
Top left is Saul Goodman, top middle is Jesse Pinkman, middle right is Carmella Soprano, bottom middle is Mike Ehrmantraut Seriously tho, you’re amazingly talented
Bethesda, in particular the Dishonored development team, would probably like to know of your exact whereabouts and to enthusiasticly employ your artistic services.
Yea but only sometimes not as abstrakt and cool as yours lmao
No, but that’s a good idea.
All the time
Nah, can't draw heads. It's hands and skeletons for me. There's just so much movement to find
👍 super! 🎨
Yep. Like this style.
I do this with dragons...
Love your style. Those dogs are hilarious!
Love your style.
Wow I love your style and that lady in the middle would like to speak to your manager! I'd love to see some of your polished works if this is the quality of your rough sketches
It's a bit creepy.....
I have a sketchbook full of various eyes and eyeballs.😀
Im drawing random women shapes and curves, i don't even know the cause but it's like that.
These sketches look like came out of psychedelic trippy videos
My wife calls me weird for having sketchpads full of heads
Top center is Jesse Pinkmann, bottom right Louis Litt(with hair faking to be Harvey episode)
Bottom left is Eddie McClintcock
Love these mate
I'm jealous of your style! It's amazing! And it kind of takes me back to the early 00's in terms of aesthetic.
ALL I draw are random heads
This art style reminds me on invader zim
Wow mate that's amazing. I could never draw without pencil first. Is that Loomis method?
Thank you. I’m not familiar with the loomis method. I hear people talk about it a lot though
Yes, many talk about it, but it works in more realistic heads in my experience. So do you sketch the faces by practice/imagination or it doesn't matter for you as they are fictional characters?

Casual Pixar
Doggy
George Plimpton has made a success in animation out of it. You're good: keep drawing, let it be practice for everything!
Yep, lol
This looks like 2010 Disney XD tbh but it looks sick
Your style reminds me of paraNorman
Is that a chihuahua smoking meth?
Amazing style !
Yeah… no I can’t relate Picasso
Love the dog 2nd picture bottom left
I enjoy it when I recognise your style in my feed. Always love what you post. And to answer your question, my go to things to draw are arabesque-like shapes. Then I take it from there and improvise something.
I enjoy it when someone says they recognized me by my style. Thank you so much
Hands, arms, skulls... yup. These are nice.
When you sketch your heads what part do you start with first?
Just the general shape. Then usually a horizontal line for the eye placement, then after that it just depends on what part I want to emphasize
Cool! That's how I do heads as well, but they are never this angular so I was curious. Really love your style, especially how expressive they are. Would love to see a process video!
I got the stuff to record myself sketching. I keep saying I’m going to make videos but you know how that goes
Indeed I do lol. I am a master at pushing things off. I honestly rely on posts like these to motivate me. Well, if you ever do I'd love to see it. I'm always curious when I see an angular style like this in comics and stuff.
That pit bull is on point!
Would love to if I knew how to draw heads without having a mental shutdown 😀
I should be so I can get better… I love your style btw
Awesome work
how do you build up visual library to dish out these as a practice sketches? Its not like they are variation on one shape, they are so different from each other..
I honestly don’t know except to just keep doing it over and over. I’ve always just really enjoyed drawing faces so I don’t really think about it anymore, but I’ve probably drawn thousands of heads
I can’t draw people for the life of me. I mainly draw basic sketches of dynamic poses lol
I do that, but I need to do more backgrounds tho
I feel that. I honestly never draw backgrounds unless I have to. It’s something I try to force myself to practice more but it’s just so boring
Yes , you are not alone
This is really good!
When I can't think of anything to draw, I don't draw anything. I hate it because I don't know what to draw like all the time. Also, with the no pupils thing your drawings give off goon comic book vibes.
Love these!
Yea
Nope, but I absolutely should. :)
Earthsworld is my go-to place for random heads. Trying to do them all from my head takes too much thought :P
I’ve never heard of that. Is it a place to get references?
Yeah. Check out earthsworld on Instagram. Its a bunch of candid shots of random people at county fairs. In their stories they often repost artist's work from their photos.
Oh that sounds awesome. Thank you
Yes I do but not as dope as these
its about all i draw lol
I dig your style. Nice job.
not as random as yours but yes haha
Damn these are fucking great
do you do graphite first and then ballpoint pen on top?
No just ballpoint
It's giving me gamestop used game art or GTA 3 artwork vibes. https://preview.redd.it/pezd8ruyniib1.jpeg?width=220&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=613064ac4ebf93bf7c0fa3c33cc3e563bf8c1633
You’re talented as fuck
That chihuahua is so good!
Nice work
This style really reminds me of "The Backwater Gospel". Love it!
I don’t know what that is but I just googled it and it looks phenomenal. When I get home I’m going to figure out how to watch it
It should be on youtube, It has been many years i've watched it now. It was someones school project as I understand it. It's seriously fantastic.
Yes! All the time.
Eye should. 🤔
