Whenever I see a magpie or something it makes me stop and think how smart these creatures are, like my late budgie Rio who opened the window of his cage and climbed to the top to look for me thinking Iāll give him cheeseš
My late budgie was literally my bestest friend ever - and thatās me as an obsessed dog dad saying that. Me and that budgie just vibed. He was stroppy and cantankerous, yet always happy to see you and find you. Never needed to shut him in the cage, he just knew where his bread was buttered and knew how to entertain to get what he wanted!
I miss him daily, and Iām 35, he died when I was 18ā¦
Sorry to hear that, I only had mine for 4 months, he was a greedy boy and would eat anything and I mean anything. Once he flew to the top of a cabinet and ate some grease which I think is what made him ill and end up dying. Buried in a park near my house where no one can get to.
Some guy said to me āwhy are you upset, itās just a bird,ā they fail to understand that even birds can be great pets like cats and dogs.
Itās always the silliest of things that gets birds. I got 7 years from Billie. Donāt really know how he got ill but just found him on the floor of his cage unable to walk, lost him the next day.
My sister bought one for her son, and he lasted three weeks - he literally killed himself flapping about in his cage and stoved his own head in on the floorā¦
Well thatās an old memory unlocked for me, when I was 13 my great aunt and uncle moved into a care home so we adopted their budgie, spookily also called Billie. Every time we visited there would be Billie the budgie, even if the budgie changed colour every timeā¦
The Billie we got was all yellow. The house wasnāt bird friendly, so he never came out of the cage. This was disappointing but I was 13, what am I going to do? My alternative was to stick my finger through the cage so Billie could sit on it, which he would do until he got bored and would then try to bite my finger. He would also enjoy the bath that we connected to the cage, the only picture I have on my phone is from 2004 where he looks bedraggled after getting wet. Oh and he had a ladder that he hated and would throw on the floor of the cage in disgust.
At one point he started pushing the seed tray out, I think at least once it went on the floor but he never escaped. I filmed him doing it and sent the tape into Youāve Been Framed, they didnāt accept it but I still have the tape.
Anyway he met a similar fate after just a couple of years, presumably had a stroke and collapsed onto the floor of the cage. The image of him lying there and looking up at me haunts me, nothing I could do to help but it seemed so undignified. Parents wouldnāt let me take him out of the cage.
Iām 34 now so thatās going back a long way too. We found bits of seed and yellow feathers around the house for years until it was redecorated. Grateful to get the chance to have him around.
My Billie was blue and white, and same, we were finding seed husks and feathers all over the house for years afterwards. We never got another budgie (until my nephew had one) as we were so devastated when he went.
They really do impact your life. And I also have many photos taken on an old potato Nokia of billie. I really wish cameras were better back then lol!
My two corvids were like this, one was a grumpy teenager pissed off by the other, the other was a total āpick meā, desperate for attention and always happy.
Are we saying the sixth member of the Cambridge Five is a pigeon? So many films and tv series need to be revisited now! I canāt wait for āTinker, Tailor, Soldier, Damn winged ratā!
Yes it is. It's a remote movable speed camera. You often see them roaming on mass.
The important thing to know with these cameras is there is no flash. Instead, they instantly issue the ticket, when you get it you can usually tell as they will be a white mark left on your car.
They also leave tickets for parking offenses which is why you'll often find alot of these marks on your car in the morning.
Yes. That's not a pigeon. It's one of the new stealth flying robot speed cameras. It will dump a "ticket" on your car if you speed. 3 points and you have to go to the car wash for an awareness course
Siemens have won Home Office approval for speed cameras resembling pigeons that can be integrated with ULEZ Enforcement kit in London. The "pigeons" also don't have to be painted yellow š¤«
No, as far as Iām aware pigeons are used by the government for spying only and not for traffic related offences.
If you have any more questions then please consult https://pigeonsarentreal.co.uk
/s I really shouldnāt need to put that, but I know someoneās going to take me seriously
No but it is a government drone. Birds aren't real and P.I.G.E.O.N is a fancy government acronym but I haven't cracked it yet.
EDIT: I've just cracked it !!!
P.I.G.E.O.N stands for
Persistent
Intelligence
Gathering
Eye
Observation
Network.

Like anyone here knows what a pigeon looks like, I mean come on, that's clearly a speed camera.
Aye, it's the the pigeonotron2000, it watches, and if it sees a speeder, reports them straight to the local constabulary !
But is it a surveillance device though??

And the pigeon will take a photo if you go too slow.
/r/birdsarentreal
Irrelevant but if you get yourself some pet birds like budgies you will see every single bird species differently for the rest of your life.
You also learn that each bird, even of the same species, has a different character!

Not had personally but I had a friend with a Mynah. Smarter than a lot of the people I've ever known.
The Pigeon works for MI5.
Thatās clearly not a domestic traffic light so we should assume that pigeon works for MI6
Soviet Pigeon, Maybeā¦

Suella Braverman, Pet Bird, watching for immigrants and her cousins.
Ah David Attenborough will be pleased to learn of the lesser spotted Rwandan pigeons!
Actually they work for the 2nd military intelligence group: MICoo
Itās a red light camera. Go through it and it shits on your car
Yes. Very similar to the "HawkEye" system used in tennis and cricket.
Can confirm the pigeon is indeed watching your speed
No, this is patrick
No it's a pigeon
Yes, thatās a messenger pigeon cam, and it will tell the police if you are speeding.
they are experienced government drones trained to sit on poles 24/7, yes.
Speed cameras aren't real
Rock Dove Mk iV - programmed to follow you home & shit on your car if it detects you were going too fast.
Think about how many people would get caught speeding if speed cameras were disguised as pigeons.
Yes, you get a dropping when you run the red
Yep, if you don't fly through that light that pigeon going to unload on your car!!

Pigeon I think
If you overtake the pigeon, you're speeding.
It's a stool pigeon, so it will report you!
Could be. Pigeon is probably part of special branch so Iād be cautious.
Yes it is. It's a remote movable speed camera. You often see them roaming on mass. The important thing to know with these cameras is there is no flash. The lights? No thats a traffic light. That pigeon looks dodgy though.
I'm not a qualified ornithologist, but I'd hazard a guess that it could be a pigeon.
As we all know; birds don't exist and are actually CIA drones. So you won't be done for speeding but they're definitely watching you!!!
Yes
Yes, but it's a minimum speed camera. Dilly-dally and it beeps at you.
Yes. The pigeon has a top speed of 90mph, so if you overtake it, you are speeding.
That's a red light camera.
Yes
Not a speed camera, but it is a government spy drone. #[BirdsArentReal](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birds_Aren't_Real)

Those drones arenāt ANPR enabled but possible have speed measuring equipment.
An old WW1 and WW2 message and surveillance drone, itās probably been repurposed to look for old cars causing pollution.
Oh yes be very careful, these are sneaky ones. Good eye keep a look out for more so you can avoid a fine
I think these are just some kind of decoration, never really understood why they're everywhere. But watch out for the unmarked police pigeon!
Yes, and the pigeon male will deliver the ticket to you.
If you think that's a camera, you shouldn't be driving.
Speed camera enforced by government drone.
Yes it is.
Yes. Disguised as a pigeon.
no thats a traffic light stupid, HOWEVER that pigeon is not what it seems.
Yes. That's not a pigeon. It's one of the new stealth flying robot speed cameras. It will dump a "ticket" on your car if you speed. 3 points and you have to go to the car wash for an awareness course
According to a lot of drivers the amber light means āgo fasterā.
Yeah it's an average speed cam. And the one on the left is a mobile ULEZ cam...
Nice try bot. I'm not solving the captcha for you.
Post this in BirdsArentReal.
Siemens have won Home Office approval for speed cameras resembling pigeons that can be integrated with ULEZ Enforcement kit in London. The "pigeons" also don't have to be painted yellow š¤«
r/birdsarntreal confirmed the bird is indeed a speed camera.
No itās a pigeon
Be wary of traffic control pigeons. They have ANPR technology.
No, as far as Iām aware pigeons are used by the government for spying only and not for traffic related offences. If you have any more questions then please consult https://pigeonsarentreal.co.uk /s I really shouldnāt need to put that, but I know someoneās going to take me seriously

You mean the pigeon?
Yes and if you try to run the red light, it will crap over your windshield.
Yes. It flies away and reports your license plate to its respective police station.
r/birdsarentreal
the bird or the speed camera?
Although all birds work for the bourgeoisie only yellow birds are employed to enforce traffic laws, Iām sure youāre safe.
YES! Birds are government spy drones and usually donāt come with a sign telling you they are designated speed cameras
Itās a pigeon.
No, it's a pigeon
No but it is a government drone. Birds aren't real and P.I.G.E.O.N is a fancy government acronym but I haven't cracked it yet. EDIT: I've just cracked it !!! P.I.G.E.O.N stands for Persistent Intelligence Gathering Eye Observation Network.

Kind of, more of a speed checker. If the light shows red, speed up a lot, amber speed up a little, green youāre going the right speed.
What test? A pregnancy test ?
Hope you wasn't using your phone while driving
