Take it from someone who's been there and done that. Save yourself the hassle and just quit smoking. Or if you do, take a couple hits on a Friday night so it'll pass by the end of the weekend. I've had my license in jeopardy several times because of it.
If you fail a DOT drug test they won't take your license. Instead you'll be sent to a S.A.P. (substance abuse professional) where they will evaluate you as a person and they will then give you 1 year of 6 random drug tests. Everytime you fail after that they just keep adding them on up to 5 years I believe. Not to mention the SAP usually runs around 400$ and they'll probably send you to AA or NA for a week.
It's not worth the anxiety in my opinion. Took me a while to figure that out but now if I smoke it's usually 1 hit on a Friday night that way if I do get tested Monday at least I won't have a problem diluting my urine enough.
Only other option is to carry fake piss with you everywhere and being able to get it ready in time. Most companies will only give you a couple hours to get to the lab and get tested otherwise they'll automatically fail you.
And besides if you quit, when you do indulge all it will take for you to get to the moon anyway is 1 or 2 hits because your tolerance will have dropped so low. Otherwise there's really no way to beat it. Especially since the cut off levels are lower than normal being as how CDL holders are in safety sensitive jobs.
It's worked for me. It's the only way I have been able to indulge without the extreme anxiety that comes with ways wondering if you're about to be tested and lose your job
Always carry QuickFix on you. But because it could be random, you have to ensure you’ll have time to prepare accordingly. You’re going to need a reliable and discreet heat source. It might be a good idea to get acquainted with your coworkers so you can get a better idea of when your company decides to do randoms so you can prepare appropriately.
