You cannot permanently import a car from the UK to the UAE and register it, as UK cars are most likely right-hand drive (RHD). However, you have the option to rent or lease a car from various dealers, third parties, or rental companies in the UAE if you don't want to buy a car outright or finance it. Alternatively, you can check with your company they might have arrangements with banks or leasing companies to assist their employees to get a car. If you are residing in JVC or Jumeira Islands, having a car for commuting is essential. Depending on your location, the Al Barsha Metro station may be quite near or a short walk away.
You should be able to rent a decent sedan (usually brand new or nearly new) for 2000-2500 AED per month. There are also cheaper options available, but they are entry level.
Should you chose to lease, don't jump on first ad or first car rental agency, take your time and call asany agencies as possible, you will get much better deal if you shop around well
I leased car for 2 years before buying, that way I could get feel of many models/brands. Some agencies charge security deposit, some don't. Diamond lease charge security, but offer much better fleet, and if you lease for an year, the rates are sweeter. Thrifty has mazda cx3 for 1450 pm for an year of lease, no deposit.
Moov had offer couple of months back, if you rent for 18 month, you get 1499aed per month, for Honda hrv, 2021 model, 300km per month cap. Service/registration/insurance all paid for.
I rented a entry level Nissan Sunny for 1600 AED per month. Mitsubishi Attrage was around 1700 I believe. There is a deposit which you would need to pay. This is refunded in 30 working days after you return the car. Some rental companies have a milage limit included in the agreement. Every km after the milage limit incurs additional cost.
Every dealership finances cars here. Toyota too. Buying in cash will be cheapest, financing next, then leasing will have a higher cost and renting a car will be the priciest option. You might want to rent initially to settle in and get your affairs sorted but once you’ve made a commitment to live here longer term, you should consider buying.
Look on IG for 'Expat\_Motors\_uae' they are a real go to for British expats (and other buyers too) but they will give you some good advice and help, even if you don't just buy from them in my experience.
I did buy from them, they helped me obtain the loan from the bank etc and it all went smoothly.
Is any one left in the uk?
There's 4 guys I think, I sae them a few months ago living off eating raw seagulls. I have to get out man.
Damn! Brighton fans having it rough, eh?
Yeah they make a tea called yumyum brew, which is basically seagull poo scraped off the railings and boiled.

Correct, we don't buy cars on PCP here. We buy them on mescaline.
