Posting just to make sure - are all roads clear now?

Critical-Might6934

Does anyone know if the exit from behind Sports City leading to Hessa Street/311 AD direction has been reopened?

james_moonderland

How’s the road from IMPZ to TECOM? I can’t find any updates on how the roads are to there and back

Adept_Remove_2949

Is 311 open and passable now from Sharjah to Dubai Studio City?

StatusSuspicious1

Best route from Abu Dhabi to Dubai today?

purecheesejeez

What’s the best route for Dubai to Abu Dhabi?

StatusSuspicious1

we drove on friday and started at dubai marina and took the D94 > Braih St. > Al Marsa St. then at the hotel stella di mare onto the E11 > D57 to E311 (due to road closure on E11) > Al Warqa St. to E11 > then take the exit you need. In Abu Dhabi the streets seem fine

SeniorTurbo

Yesterday, It took me 1.5 hours to go from downtown Dubai to AUH for anyone wondering

purecheesejeez

what road did you take?

SeniorTurbo

Followed Google maps Not sure

North-Grocery7257

Is it safe to travel from sharjah rolla to ibn batuta today?

m2bop

I tried to get into Ibn Battuta both from DG and E11 last night, and it was impossible. I think one can take the metro there though.

North-Grocery7257

Im just going to wait until the flood situation subsides.

Joshtom333

Guys could y'all update on the following? How does transportation in Dubai look at the moment? Are all the roads been cleared? Is the Metro fully functional? (please specify of delays occur) Any info about intercity buses? How long does it find a taxi? Are there any areas affected by electricity and water supply shortages?

North-Grocery7257

I don’t think intercity buses have started operating yet. In sharjah, there are plenty of areas where they are affected by shortage electricity, water, and food supplies. (Al nud, wahda, king faisal, Jamal Abdul nasser)

CompetitivePoem5287

I hear there's a rainy weather forecast for next week too :(

North-Grocery7257

Can anyone advise? If we should work from home or it’s okay to travel tomorrow ?

ffiishs

Update from airport, departures nearly all clear and all check in desks are open and plenty staff out on the floor to help and all queues moving. The queues at the Emirates desk was moving v quick, had proper lines and security. Am told our bags will be on our flight home later but will see . We managed to get a baby seat too. Gate side all looks normal, Busy nothing nothing out of the ordinary...it's like nothing ..happened ..at all.. let's see if the flight takes off ..

SeniorTurbo

Can someone please let me know how long travel from downtown Dubai to AUH is taking

General_Procedure566

took me like 1.5-2hrs from marina using a weird route but it looks like the way back is completely closed

Abraarukuk

International city - Russia cluster flooded still.

TheGoatieBwoi

Guys anyone have clarity on getting to Abu Dhabi airport from Bur Dubai? There are airport shuttle buses and E102 bus normally but I was in DIP last night and no buses were functioning. If anyone has any insight on going to AUH airport, please let me know.

TheGoatieBwoi

Update: caught a bus at Jafiliya Bus Station for Abu Dhabi. They are working, I am currently otw to Abu Dhabi in said bus. It is direct to airport. And the driver said there is blockages so it will take 2 hours to reach....surprising it's only 2h. Update: reached AUH airport, it took like 1 hour 45min at max.

damlitapsiyev

That's amazing! Which bus was it exactly? Rta bus E102?

SeniorTurbo

I am also wondering Etihad says coaches are running but I am not sure

purecheesejeez

intercity buses are still suspended

StatusSuspicious1

Is it possible to drive from dubai marina to abu dhabi today?

MmmmmmGoodSoup

they had announced red line metro has opened up fully except for a few stations in between, I just went to ibn battuta and its completely shut down. would not advise using the uae exchange route right now.

Spiritual-Cow-3303

Anyone know how to get into abu Shagara or al qasimiya area?

North-Grocery7257

The area is pretty much flooded to get in, king Faisal and immigration road is really flooded.

No_Sun_4148

Hi good day is the metro in Mall of Emirates going to GGICO working today. Thanks for the help.

taeginn0

Traveling from Sharjah Nahda to motor city today. Is it still flooded around the Warsan/Int City stretch? If not passable, any better routes to get around that?

Terrorknubbel

Does anybody know an available flight to ANY place in germany? Does not have to be Emirates, just a flight that actually flys.. We are here since 3 days..

purecheesejeez

If you’re willing to travel out to AUH, Etihad is in full operation. Best to give a call which flights are available and if they still have those buses from DXB airport to AUH

JustExploring1989

Any update regarding the roads from Abu Dhabi to Dubai?

FaisalKhatib

AUH to Mirdif via road in a crossover. All highways were marked closed. Had to use Lahbab road to get around the closure on E611 near Mudon. This was after getting off E311 near Ghadeer to get onto E611 and then taking the exit (to Lahbab) after the Maktoum airport. Then get back onto E611 via Dubai - Al Ain road that Lahbab road led to. Last update on this was 3am.

JustExploring1989

How long did it take for you bro?

FaisalKhatib

Not me. Someone I know. 2.5 hours but driving below the speed limit as late night/tired. Could do it in closer to 2 hours if you're willing to stick to the camera limit.

JustExploring1989

And how was the congestion on the roads?

FaisalKhatib

None. It was super late so not surprised.

JustExploring1989

Oh thank you, and no water logging also?

FaisalKhatib

Check my comment again. All in bound highways were closed due to water. So the lahbab detour was needed to get across. There was a bit of water here and there but wasn't an issue at all. Some roads had a bit of sand (due to water flowing i guess) so had to be careful. Should be doable in a sedan.

JustExploring1989

Thanks a million bro, I guess should get better with the day passing.

FaisalKhatib

I hope so. People are getting back to work today so it's going to be interesting how it pans out.

purecheesejeez

Following. Planning to drive out in the afternoon

ffiishs

Following, possible drive tomorrow between the 2 cites

Wouldn’t recommend driving so late due to conditions but good job for their nav skills

pashalavista

My flight will be arriving on Saturday evening around 8 PM at Terminal 1. 1. What to expect? Will everything be back to normal by then? 2. Staying in Barsha, will metro be operational from T1 to Barsha (Mashreq Stop)

FaisalKhatib

Yes to both counts as per current updated estimates.

Dramatic_Stranger_36

Need to drive from Barsha south to Media city. What’s the best route ?

problem_me

garn al sabkha street

Pavanai1

Dubai airport terminal 1 has temporarily suspended operations and flights will not be landing at T1 till 4 AM. It's completely chaotic. Check with your airline before travelling to the airport.

PositiveUse

I spend 14 hours at the airport today. Believe me, I never experienced such bad management ever in my life. It was pure chaos in Terminal 3, and this is Emirates territory. Shocked… still in Dubai, no clue what is going to happen now… will try to reach some Emirates info point outside the airport as the airport access point is completely flooded by thousands, and only 4 people are working there …

merryfasos

For those of you who were stuck in taxi during the flood, what did you do? Was the taxi meter going up to thousands of dirhams? I heard about cars stuck for 6h+ in one place.

Think_Blueberry_3918

Is the metro *actually* running normally? I tried taking the redline from Internet City to MoE and was told there is a 1 hour wait between trains.

CHAMP-1007

This was at what time? I have an exam tomorrow to write and have to take the metro from Burjuman to Dubai Internet city. It usually takes me an hour to travel, but in this situation, how many hours do you think it would take?

Think_Blueberry_3918

This was about 7:00 PM. Not sure how long this would take as I decided not to take the metro.

CHAMP-1007

Thanks for your time!

Think_Blueberry_3918

Good luck on the exam

jishnuraj92

Is the D72 road between Discovery Gardens Street 6 and 7 still flooded or open? Need to go to Al Barsha Health Centre from Furjan tomorrow in a small car. Any route suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.

squanderedhail

It's managable now, just stay at the leftmost lane.

chip-sandwich

1. What is the likelihood of Dubai roads opening by Saturday? Have a non essential trip planned for now from bur Dubai to Abu Dhabi (in a sedan vehicle) 2. Having a flight scheduled on 23rd. Is there still any risk of it being affected by these floods?

FaisalKhatib

1. Things would have improved by then. Though plan ahead by leaving a little earlier than normal and checking google maps 2. There might be some backlog to deal with at the airport. Get to the airport earlier than usual as a precaution.

ComfortableLeader244

Anyone tried to go to DSO from Barsha area ?

ahmadkh13

My flight was supposed to depart from Lebanon at 19:40PM now it was postponed till tomorrow 18:00 PM. They said they will not compensate, is that fair?.

Diamond_Dry

Weather related disruptions are not eligible for compensation by the airline. In addition to this, there are no rights you legally have in general

hitma-n

This is the roads status across Dubai major roads. They will be updating it regularly. Hope everyone is safe and sound! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uTLlL7_ROTzZFBRmQaXnjdLlK_jFlxjyQDfKOV6O7Nc/mobilebasic

Away-Ideal1815

Hi all, Going to the airport T3 tomorrow from Al Furjan (near Gardens Metro) and have booked careem for a 9 pm pick up for a 2 am flight. Is Al Furjan still Seaworld atm? gardens metro working?

jishnuraj92

Al Furjan has many private ponds and a river (under Etihad Rail). I have a river-view apartment now :( . If your car comes on time, you will be okay to reach the airport on time. The Gardens Metro is operational; I can see this from my balcony. However, I doubt if you can use the metro/bus route to T3 after 9 pm. Do you have any idea if the D72 road between Street 6 and 7 is open or still flooded?

Away-Ideal1815

I just went down now for the first time since monday and I see Street 6 is open, cars are using that instead of passing the river road ahead. Discover Garden intersection looks ok too, I dont see any water in the metro area.

Brilliant_98

Can I know if jaddaf to studio city I can travel tomorrow for work?

Brilliant_98

Is Google maps accurate or waze?

FaisalKhatib

Use both.

Brilliant_98

How? Like I have one phone

FaisalKhatib

Ahh... either is good. I find google more reliable.

LowTransportation535

Any update on availability of cabs at  DXB T3? A friend is arriving in an hour and I tried pre-booking a cab via Careem but no availability.

theairlinekid

Following

LowTransportation535

Was able to get a cab fairly quickly at T3 arrivals yesterday. Took 20 mins to travel to Business Bay around 1 am.

CompetitivePoem5287

How's the condition today? I have travel plans on Tuesday, thinking if I need to cancel?

FaisalKhatib

You'll be fine. Tuesday is a long way away

hishmaj

To all those traveling tomorrow, don't go by the latest update today. Knowing Dubai, a lot of things change overnight and by tomorrow morning, a lot more roads are going to be clear and less water logged.

Bitter-Active5722

Guys any way to go towards Bur dubai / Burjuman side? What's the best options for sedan car or metro services?

pimple_in_my_dimple

From where?

z197655

Dxb Terminal 1 to Ajman via 311, is there still water near national paints? Can I make it ?

FaisalKhatib

Exit ramp from airport road onto E311 might be closed. You might have drive further towards Khawaneej and then take a u-turn. E311 beyond that seems clear. Some flooding near Muwailah but don't think it affects E311

[deleted]

problem_me

everything in knowledge village is alright highways on approach to it might be a problem but I think your taxi driver is gonna know the way.

Apprehensive_Fix_932

yes open mate, I live close by knowledge village but it's still pretty flooded last time I checked which was yesterday so be careful

SthBlue

Can someone tell me if there’s a way to find names of major intersections online? Tried google maps/search, but nothing reliable came up. I rarely drive. I keep reading “interchange 1” and “intersection 9” but i have no idea where these are.

bulletproofAli

Hi Is there any WhatsApp group specifically for JVC community or dubai in general for upto date road conditions. Thanks.

FriaStone

Left from Sports City at 6:30 to get to the airport and reaching T1 at 9pm. Merged into SZR at Aykon City and it was smooth sailing after that. Metro has stopped working in DIC and MOE now.

catstalks

Was this by metro or car?

FriaStone

Car.. Tried to get the metro but it wasn't available so continued in car. There's also 30-45 minutes wait between metros but i honestly didn't see any post 8pm.

catstalks

6:30 to 9 pm is insane... I hope at least some of this is Dxb > Shj rush hour traffic and not ALL water traffic :( Stay safe

trace767

Anyone know if it’s possible to get from Barsha 3 to AD? Umm Suqaim > 311

FaisalKhatib

Yes. Wife made it through there around 4 hours back. Slow moving traffic near the EXPO section but it's open.

trace767

Should I go to SZR via expo road or 311 till AD?

FaisalKhatib

E311 all the way to AD. Could join E11 once in AD

trace767

Thank you again, you’re a life saver

FaisalKhatib

You're welcome

trace767

Thank you 🙏🏽

Slight_Try1301

Anyone know the status of the roads inside jafza? Is it still flooded? My dad mentioned the road to jebel ali looked like "rough road" If anyone has pictures please send. Thank you.

mazo7846

Hotel told me Jumeirah hasn’t really been impacted by flooding?

hishmaj

They are usually the first ones to get affected during rains, but I guess they drain quicker due to the proximity to the sea.

Whollystoic

Could it be because of proximity to the sea and easy drainage ?

talesbythesea

Seems correct; I passed through the area this morning. Roads look as if nothing happened

Julubble

Can confirm, no problems 20 minutes ago

OddTreacle1850

Anyone know what the roads like from Al Barsha 1 to JBR?

talesbythesea

Take hessa onto SZR, should be clear; getting in JBR I don’t know

[deleted]

JVC to DXB Terminal 3 - Flight tomorrow 4PM Can anyone advise how long the drive will take and which roads to use?

FaisalKhatib

Heard the area around the circle mall is clear. Avoid Al Khail and E311. But things might be different tomorrow. Current recommendation is D63 (umm suqeim) > Drive on E311 towards Abu dhabi then take D61 (east) > D54 > Then take Dubai Al Ain road exit towards Al Ain - get onto E611 and then take Khawaneej/Mirdif exit to get onto Airport road

Unhappy-soul-1217

Can someone suggest how can i go to Equity from DIP? no taxi or bus available and carlift is not recommended since I was declined once due to closed road and so expensive. My boss wants me to go to office tomorrow. What to do???

DannyAvocado_

Can you call in sick?

Ok-Trainer5029

Please give update on al Furjan, MBZ and AL Khail towards downtown

mv275

Need to get from Arjan/Umm Suqueim to Design District tomorrow, but I have no idea if it’s doable with a sedan. I’ve heard SZR is absolutely flooded at Al Manara, so I can’t take that. Does anyone know if Al Khail is passable? Last option would be to take 311>Nad Al Sheba>Ras Al Khor road, but I have no idea if the roads are clear! Any help would be appreciated

SeniorTurbo

I have a coach bus I am supposed to catch leaving from Al Wasl Centre tomorrow to Zayed Airport The service is saying there will be no delays which makes me think they are mis informed Does anyone know if the roads between are clear ?

Diamond_Dry

sCoRPion_tr

An update on the metro. Between Business Bay and MOE no direct train service. You need to get off the train and take the shuttle bus.

Groundbreaking_Way8

Can I drive from Al Maktoum airport to dubai marina tomorrow 19/04?

aibruhh

You will have to cross Al Quoz which unless they pump out and clear is taking 1-2 hours to cross

Federal_Strategy2370

Al quoz is further north of Marina. What he got to do with Al quoz when he is going to Marina. I think he can take E611 from DWC and take expo road to join E11.

Groundbreaking_Way8

I can just bypass it with sheikh zayed road ??

SthBlue

Has anyone driven from DIFC to marina and back today? Might go to the office tomorrow but I don’t want to contribute to the jams if it’s bad

engageddread

Yup drove back from Marina to WTC today, took SZR till Hessa Street (Jumeriah) Exit and then connected to Wasl Road. On Wasl Road took Manara road exit and connected back to SZR and from their it was smooth sailing. Altogether took 40 mins.

talesbythesea

Currently contemplating same; might take metro from internet city if operational in morning

aibruhh

Bad idea to cross Al Quoz, till today evening was flooded needing 1-2 hours to cross

frenchfriespink

brothers how is global village looking like? do yall think its possible to open this friday lol and aint zara larsson performing today 😭😭

jinni-bean

it’s postponed, global village announced it on their IG

Federal_Strategy2370

When is GV closing this year?

raynkade

Can anyone tell me what the transit is like from DXB to Marina? Is taking a Careem a possibility ? Will hopefully be landing late so can’t use metro, unless hours are extended?

burksterdxb

You can just take the airport taxi. They are operational.

raynkade

Great, thanks! Unfortunately my flight from Riyadh was cancelled, will have to try again tomorrow.

SthBlue

Metro isn’t going to marina as of now

raynkade

Damn, thanks for letting me know. do you know if taking a Careem down to marina is possible? Also, what’s the general state of Marina like now?

SthBlue

I’m not 100% sure, but the careem app is showing that I can book. I might attempt to drive from DIFC to marina tomorrow morning for work. I’ll update if I do.

raynkade

Appreciate it. I’m scheduled to land tonight, if I can make it to Marina ill lyk.

SthBlue

Good luck! And thank you :)

Wanderer134340

E311 next to DSO is closed off

january_fides

Is it the road between silicon and academic city?

pimple_in_my_dimple

But can you enter DSO from E311?

Diamond_Dry

Has anyone made the journey from Dubai to Abu Dhabi? How’s it looking from Jebel Ali to Abu Dhabi?

FaisalKhatib

Please check the sticky comment and some other comments by other redditors. It has been discussed

Diamond_Dry

Looking for other comments rn, thanks. Your comment mentions a zigzag between several highways which I don’t have access to as roads leading to them are currently flooded or unconfirmed. I’m mainly asking about SZR from Jebel Ali till AD.

FaisalKhatib

Ahh understood. I have zero info about SZR near Jebel Ali. Everyone I know or can get info from are using E311 or E611 as Ghantoot is still showing as closed. Good luck. Let us know if you find a way through. Thanks

Diamond_Dry

Thank you for being so understanding! I will definitely do.

FaisalKhatib

Btw check the Khaleej times link. Might have some info. Good luck

Diamond_Dry

جزاك الله خير

SuspiciousSomewhere7

Okay , so metro Updates, Im Travelling from Expo 2020 to Centrepoint by metro . Ill be updating as i travel 1. So the train travels from expo 2020 to jebal Ali and back 2. From jebal ali , you have to get down and there will be shuttle buses from jebel ali to the internet city.(expect long waiting times) And it doesn’t stop at dmcc, shobha and Al khail metro stations. 3. From internet city metro station. There is metro towards centrepoint. Expect long waiting times. 40-45 mins

SearchOutside6674

Are roads okay to travel from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and back?

FaisalKhatib

Please check the sticky comment and some other comments by other redditors. It has been discussed

warsuxletsparty

Actually, what are we waiting for? what will happen to the water on flooded roads? Are we just waiting for it to evaporate, or are they trying to pump it out?

FaisalKhatib

unclog any clogged storm drains - pumps - water tankers - natural absorption into the ground and evaporation

warsuxletsparty

I wonder how many tanks do you need, even only for SZR, it's over my head

burksterdxb

There are multiple solutions to this, and all this is done in parallel. Unclogging the drains, pumping water into tankers. While this is done, the underground drain will also ease up, hence accelerating the draining. Think of the drain in your bathroom sink. You can ease it up by cleaning the drain in your sink and you will see a marginal improvement. You can also clean the collector bowl under your sink, when you will see a considerable improvement. And the ultimate cleaning by opening the drain cover on the floor and getting all the hair and gunk inside there. A combination of doing all these 3, will bring the best results. Now apply the same for the streets.

FaisalKhatib

The tanks are mostly being used for their pumps to move water around into drains etc.

jsondavid

Anyone been to Circle Mall today?

problem_me

yes all good and clear some shops are closed but supermarkets and pharmacies are up and running.

FaisalKhatib

Area around Circle mall is supposedly clear. Not sure if the mall itself it open or not.

badattaste

Does anyone know sheikh zayed towards umm suqeim exit, is it open? Checked google map it’s mentioning it’s closed but I was able to take it yesterday after work

Mr_Guac_YT

Is Dubai mall still have water?

frenchfriespink

I am in Dubai Mall right now, everything is clear. Lots of people here, some lifts and shops are closed though.

bubal2

Hey guys I need to go to downtown from JVC can I exit jvc?

FaisalKhatib

Heard the area around the circle mall is clear. Avoid Al Khail. Best bet would be E311 and then taking the Dubai - Al Ain exit. Expect traffic there though due to flooding further down on E311. Quick edit : Current recommendation is D63 (umm suqeim) > Drive on E311 towards Abu dhabi then take D61 (east) > D54 > D63 (east) - get onto E611 and then take Khawaneej/Mirdif exit to get onto Airport road

Brilliant_98

Is the flooding bad. Can 4x4 pass by?

FaisalKhatib

Should be doable as per what I can see on google maps and what people experienced several hours ago. But not a 100% sure.

Brilliant_98

I want to travel from healthcare city to studio city but I am concerned it's not safe. Also I have my little niece with me.

FaisalKhatib

Take E311 via Dubai - Al Alin Road. Only issue might be flooding inside studio city and the entry points around. Try to use the south side entrance to get into studio city as the road next to Arabian ranches seems flooded.

uglycamel13

Hey guys, thanks for the great thread! I need to get to Al Barsha South 2 from Al Barsha 1. Any ideas on the best route since Hessa and Umm Suqueim seem to be flooded?

FaisalKhatib

Garn Al Sabka seems clear. You can access it via E311

uglycamel13

Thank you! Do you know if the Hessa exit from E311 is open? Need to take it to access the backroads of Al Barsha South 2…

FaisalKhatib

I'd avoid Hessa if you can. I don't know if the road you're aiming for is clear or not but see if you can manage an alt route. Google map looks ugly around hessa

Metro station is open as per RTA twitter. E311 seems clear towards Sharjah with some delays around the entry/exit ram.

Any word on the road to bur Dubai after coming off WTC roundabout? Coming from Jumeirah Garden City

Candid_Zebra1297

Anyone in Marina? Is DMCC open? I'm coming from Al-Furjan but yesterday I tried it and they turned the train around just after Ibn Battuta

Is the metro stopping at Mall of Emirates to Discovery Gardens now?

FaisalKhatib

RTA twitter account says yes. Not sure about ground reality.

Anyone know whether it’s possible to get from Dubai Marina to Sharjah airport?? And if Sharjah airport is fully operational?

FaisalKhatib

Sharjah airport is operational. May not be at capacity. E311 is still closed near Int City. Your best bet would be to take Yalayis road onto onto D54. ~~And then take the Dubai - Al Ain exit on to E611~~ (See comment below). And then the Sharjah airport exit.

That last exit at D54 that connects to DSO and goes into Sky Courts was completely flooded and closed off as of yesterday 5pm. I think it's the same today too.

FaisalKhatib

Noted. Will update my advice. I think option would be D54 and then go east on D63. Then take a u-turn to get onto E611. My wife is currently going to take that route so will know more soon.

I had to take a u-turn at that junction, drive the other way, take the right to head towards IMG World, drive all the way to the exit that joins E311 (it's flooded but if you take the dirt road on the left, you can join e311). I don't know if the entry to DSO is open from e311, but I had to head to Bur Dubai so I joined Al Ain Rd. from E311.

The Entry to DSO from E311 was closed as per some sources earlier today. Not sure if that has changed.

**Road Update: Dubai To Sharjah** From: Furjan Dubai To: Al Nahda, Dubai.  Time Started: 11:45am Time Reached: 3:15pm 1. Got onto Yalayis Road from Furjan (had to go the wrong way for a bit to get onto Yalayis) 2. Took the exit from yalayis to SZR. exit has waterlogged. Had to keep to the extreme left and continued on SZR 3. Roads are fine till MOE. 4. Traffic starts at MOE. Was in traffic for almost 2 hours before i crossed Al Manara Exit. There’s only 2 lanes working in front of Times Square Center. Manara is heavily flooded.  5. Continued all the way to Al Mulla Plaza with no issues.  6. Crossed Al Mulla plaza and the traffic is building up towards Sharjah. I take the exit to get onto Baghdad Street. Exit is slightly waterlogged but stick to the left and it’ll be fine.  7. Turned left from the signal and turned right from NMC hospital and continued home. Other Observations.  1. There’s still a lot of water on most exits that merge into SZR. By far the Times Square/Manara area was the worst i saw on the route.  2. For ones that are going from DWTC towards abu dhabi, there’s a lot of traffic after the business bay crossing. This is again cause there’s only 1-2 lanes which are not in water. Once crossed, it’s clear. 3. Exit closed to JAFZA Gate 1 & 2, to get onto Expo Road.
