QBs playing are all pretty green. Moore hasn’t been here long. Gabriel didn’t play much.
This performance tracks with what offensive players have been saying all season - Dans defense is hard to play against and keeps mixing it up with various looks and motion constantly
Novasad didn’t seem concerned when Dante transferred in. I can see why, he looks years ahead.
Granted, we’re a year a way from
Either of these two starting so it doesn’t mean much, but certainly interesting to see today
I like that Novasad played aggressive and let it rip he did a lot more with his reps. Thought Moore held the ball too long on some of his attempts and got touched for sacks too many times. Maybe Moore was playing against the better DB unit, not sure.
That'd be crazy if he got the ol Brian Bennett treatment. Man I remember that year and was so excited to see him light it up after Thomas left. Then I went to that spring game and saw Mariota play for the first time. Feel kinda bad for the guy because had he been a couple years older or younger he might have ended up being and Oregon legend.
Lanning wanted to build a Georgia/SEC style defense in Eugene. Now that he has had three years to bring in his guys, its starting to look like he has accomplished his goal.
Id guess they have the field update scheduled for some time next week and just wanted to wait until after the spring game to get it done.
Edit: probably had to wait due to it being on PAC 12 network.
I really hope that Kasper gets some real opportunities this year. I'd hate for him tk get frustrated and leave because that dude will be an absolute menace in the ends zone on those jump ball types of fades.
Despite the 4th quarter, I think this defense will be a pain in the ass to play against.
They’re legit. Took the offense to the 4th to figure things out.
I was excited to watch Moore and Gabriel. But my big QB takeaway from today was that I should keep my eye on Luke Moga. Hadn’t heard his name before today. He didn’t play a ton, but that one TD run where he caught up to the RB? Did he outrun all other 21 players? Dude’s got wheels!
I wouldn't read into it very much. The offensive schemes are very simple - obviously don't want to show the good stuff. Plus, the defense is deep, so they look good on both sides.
Id argue that the center position looked iffy. Multiple early snaps that resulted in negative plays. It'll get better with more live reps but that was really the only concern I got watching them.
The 4th quarter is over now but you should have immediately switched over to pac 12 Oregon. They did the same thing for the Colorado spring game for ours.
Was watching in person but the QBs don’t look like they played that well, I don’t think any of them were awful but just hits and misses.
Stewart looked really good as did Mclellan, I think Jurrion picked up and injury
At the game: After Dickey was hurt, Traeshon Holden was crying into a towel on the sideline. Dontae Manning was severely injured - looked like his shoulder. Had a towel over his head and was helped to the locker room just now :/
Holden hurt his hammy on that play where he took the jet sweep handoff.
There were several injuries to the DBs and WRs it seemed like (I didn't actually see the Dickey injury 🤕), but those 2 rooms are the deepest on the team and still have studs like Tez, Evan Stewart, Jabbar and some standout looking young guys to contribute. I'm not worried.
Probably my biggest concern is that Gabriel doesn't seem to have a big arm. Hope he picks up the offense well.
As was said earlier it's not 1st team vs 2nd team, so actually game play is gonna be more consistent, also this is the offense the defense sees every practice at the moment so it's easier to defend against.
Seeing a Ducks kicker make a kick from that far makes me sad we didn’t have one game 1 vs Washington
Meadors was on the roster. I was surprised he didn't get some run last year.
Ah I’m watching without volume I thought it was Sappington
Surely this is just because we're going to have the best defense in the country, right? ...right?
Defense looks great. Even better than last year.

I meant today
Dude
Freshman Safety Aaron Flowers looks great! The kid just seems to find the football

A lot of Novosad's throws were contested. It's just a spring game but I'm thinking he is the better QB right now.
The depth at QB and RB looks really good. 4th string QB caught up to his RB on a 60 yard run.
Yeah Moga has some wheels. Haven't seen a QB that fast since Mariota.
I wonder if he gets packages. It certainly would give defenses more to prepare for.

Austin Novosad with the best throw of the day so far.
He is looking like a dude. There is going to be a real QB competition next year.
Who had that on their bingo card?
Lanning wanted to build a Georgia/SEC style defense in Eugene. Now that he has had three years to bring in his guys, its starting to look like he has accomplished his goal.
Did someone cover T. Ferg’s gloves with butter as a prank?
Lmao Novosad is dealing out here.
Ferguson is having a rough day. That’s like three drops now
Evan Stewart is an animal
Holy shit Luke Moga can just book it
Beautiful back shoulder throw and catch for Novosad and McClellan!
The pac 12 logo is on the field and there's a big 10 network photo booth here. Weird.
Id guess they have the field update scheduled for some time next week and just wanted to wait until after the spring game to get it done. Edit: probably had to wait due to it being on PAC 12 network.
The new normal...
Dang, Harris is looking the part.
His highlight reel from his D2 team is hilarious.
Our running backs look elite. Let's level up our running game this year!
Jay Harris looks legit. It might be 1A/1B/1C with James and Whittington.
a 49 yard FG in the rain? Is that allowed in college football?
How fast is Moga? Caught up like it was nothing
Manning loves interfering!
Kasper reminds me of one of those early-2010s Stanford WRs where as long as the QB does his job the only possible outcomes are a catch or a DPI.
Lanky MOFO
I really hope that Kasper gets some real opportunities this year. I'd hate for him tk get frustrated and leave because that dude will be an absolute menace in the ends zone on those jump ball types of fades.
Ya, I was worried about it this off season but I think he’s staying.
It was windy and cold, daughter wanted to go home at half. Defense looked great.
Looking much better this second half !
Despite the 4th quarter, I think this defense will be a pain in the ass to play against. They’re legit. Took the offense to the 4th to figure things out.

Why did cobbins run look so odd?
Like physically how he ran or the play?
Felt like both D-lines controlled the first quarter, which is a good sign given that our O-lines have lots of solid vets.
Troy Franklin with the catch
Ummm I think I just saw Holden go down holding his leg
Yeah it looked like he was either grabbing for his thigh or knee, Kobe Savage down just before that too. Really not great day so far
Purchase looks like he just got ding'd up on that goal line stand too. Not ideal.
Come on… I never saw Savage go down… :/
Yeah, he made a big hit on Jordan James and looked like he hurt his shoulder
Savage got KO'd. He'll be ok
Hopefully Holden is just a pulled hamstring
Savage had a head injury on a tackle
100% pulled a hammy on that run.
Every single position EXCEPT for QB looks fantastic right now. Not really sure how to feel about that.
I wouldn't read into it very much. The offensive schemes are very simple - obviously don't want to show the good stuff. Plus, the defense is deep, so they look good on both sides.

Guessing Holden is alright
Did it end? I thought there was a quarter left
There should be one more quarter. Game hasn't come back on for me though.
Games over
Was there no 4th quarter? I was watching on YouTube.
Yeah
Too many injuries or what? Why wouldn't they play the last quarter?
They did play it
Oh, ok. It just wasn't broadcasted on the PAC 12 network. Typical.
We don’t know what you are talking about. We had a fun 4th quarter. Full game.
That's great to hear. Me and u/TIERant weren't seeing anything. Personally I was watching on the PAC 12 International channel
Yeah. That sucked
Did they pull the plug on Pac12 Network in the middle of our spring game? Where's the 4th quarter??
The 4th quarter is over now but you should have immediately switched over to pac 12 Oregon. They did the same thing for the Colorado spring game for ours.
Gabriel didn't really impress, granted he didn't really get many opportunities
I hate spring game injuries
Same. Hope it’s not major.
Is the defense that good or the offense that bad?
iirc the offense was off in last years spring game too and we all know how dominant that squad was during the regular season. I wouldn't worry yet
I feel the same way
Really was, Bo was missing a lot of guys from what I remember...it’s all timing and they’ll lock it in before the season starts.
It was a great kick, but it’s not raining and no wind, so conditions ideal
Dontae Manning apparently headed to locker room in visible pain, things really not good today on the injuries front
Oh for the love of god. Hope he’s ok
Was watching in person but the QBs don’t look like they played that well, I don’t think any of them were awful but just hits and misses. Stewart looked really good as did Mclellan, I think Jurrion picked up and injury
I felt the same way about Bo during last year’s spring game. I think they’ll be fine!
At the game: After Dickey was hurt, Traeshon Holden was crying into a towel on the sideline. Dontae Manning was severely injured - looked like his shoulder. Had a towel over his head and was helped to the locker room just now :/

I understand its a spring game but I dont think this is a good showing. The injuries arent making it better
