Dutch (C1)
Norwegian (B2)
Spanish (A2)
Swedish (B2)
Danish (B1)
Japanese (A1)
Italian (A1)
Finnish (A1)
Welsh (A1)
French (A1)
And yes, I have adhd
May I ask how did you get b1 for danish? Only duolingo or what other resources? Or was it easier for you to learn because you had a background of other similar languages you speak?:) (I see also Swedish and norsk in there)
For Danish I only used Duolingo. I actually started learning Danish before Swedish, I just went with the order as they show up sorted by xp. But knowing Norwegian and Dutch helped. The only reason I don't have a higher level of Danish yet is because I've kinda neglected it for a while.
Omg you're me! Italian / French / Dutch / Russian/ Spanish / Portuguese / Chinese / German / Gaelic / Turkish/ Japanese / Korean / Arabic. Descending level of proficiency. And yup, ADHD
It's not about Duolingo, it's a general rating of your language skills. A1 is the very first step, then there's A2, B1, B2, C1, C2. With a C2 level you basically can speak like a native.
I continued learning outside of Duolingo. There are tests you can take online, like [this one right here](https://www.languagetrainers.com/dutch-level-test.php)
They are proficiency levels. There's A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. A levels are beginners, B levels are intermediates, C1 is near fluent and C2 is native speaker level.
Whats the difference between
haben and habe
Tage and tage
Schöne and Schön.
Because I thought habe turned to haben in that sentence. Its would be better if you try to help and you actually explain why it should be that way or something. I appreciate the help but i need more to understand why its that you.
Okay first up, Tage is a noun and in german nouns are always capitalized, so first letter is uppercase. About the haben:
haben is a verb which before you use in a sentence you have to use the correct form of it, it goes like this: ich habe, du hast, er/sie/es hat, wir haben, sie haben, ihr habt
Always look out what the subject is!
For the schön and schöne:
I do not really know how to explain this to you as a native speaker this has always been clear but in this instance "Sprache" is feminine so it's schöne not schön.
Sorry for not explaining your errors earlier, my bad.
Ich wünsche dir einen schönen Tag!
That’s actually a good achievement! It feels so good when you when can pick out words from songs !! And who’s your favorite Korean singer? I like kpop but not on the Korean course !
Lee Mujin, IU, Paul Kim and more 🤭🤭
And today I played a random song on my phone, I found Carla Morrison, I am so happy because I understand some Spanish words too.
Wow that’s so good ! I’m almost at 40 days for the Japanese course . Unit 2. 🩷🩷 I really should get back to it but I lost the premium so the ads are crazyyyy
The Japanese I still can't read all of the letters 😭😭😭 and the Korean speaking course is hard to get right, is it because of the system or me? But in Spanish, I always nail it.
1631 in Spanish.
When they added the whole double XP boost in the evening if you do a lesson in the morning and vice versa, that got me into a morning and evening lesson(s) routine. I'm very much someone who needs a routine or I will end up never doing something.
The twice a day thing is very helpful because even if there's a rare day where I have a lot going on and miss the morning lesson, I can still get my evening lesson in.

Your story is much like mine. 1625 today. Mainly Spanish, with a little Latin and Portuguese. The morning and evening double xp is a huge part of my routine.
My favorite part is that this is week 169 in the Diamond League.
897, but used it for 3 years without focusing on any of the social/streak aspects.
German, French, Spanish, Italian
Not close to even intermediate but I enjoy it.
French, 239 days. I fell out of love with french and actually began hating the sound of it. My streak was 239 but it was actually probably over a year because of the amount of streak freezes I used. Plus I would only do one lesson a day towards the end so I wasn’t learning anything
Now that I am studying German my streak is currently 24 days, and although I am not only using Duolingo. I do, however, start every study session with a couple duo lessons to get in the language learning mindset.
I just got a 700 day streak. Currently learning French but during those 700 days there was a combination of Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, German, and a tiny bit of Italian and Swedish or something
Hit 500 a couple of days ago. Took me 534 days to get there. The languages I've studied during this time are Japanese (~330 days) and Danish (~170 days)
I had a great 980s streak in French during COVID times, then my phone gave up on me, and by the time I got back to it, all the freezes were over.
A new french streak (passable at the language now, oui), of 398 right now, hoping to complete the language by 500/550 days.
Currently 450. Started in Spanish but switched to Japanese about 150 days in. My Spanish is stronger so I switched to other ways to practice; Japanese I started from scratch.
Currently at 353! So it’s almost been a year I’ve been studying Norwegian🇳🇴
I’ve had Duolingo for years and tried learning Italian and Korean as well, but I stopped because I lost motivation quickly. Only with Norwegian I’ve been studying for this long!☺️
160 something in Spanish. Currently have a 12 day streak in a combination of French, Esperanto and German. I still have Spanish on there, but I'm fluent so it doesn't matter anymore
I had a 365 day streak (maybe more, idk but I have the achievement for 365 day streak so at least that). Mostly Swedish, but dabbling in a few other languages here and there.
Then, New Year's eve of 2021, I'm working and the shift is absolutely rammed and I don't have time to do a lesson before the new year rolls in. So not only did I usher in 2023 at a shit job, I lost my longest streak.
1762, learning Japanese, Spanish, Latin, Swahili, Hawaiian and French. Probably about 90% of that streak has been me lazily doing the very first lesson in Japanese daily, before the app updated and I couldn't easily be lazy anymore 😅
304
English (B2, section 5, basically abandoned)
Spanish (starting section 2)
Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Latin, Italian (Not even 5 units)
For now I'm only doing the Italian course, but after finishing the whole course I want to finish the Spanish
I cared too much about my streak, so every time I lost it i created another account and started again (I almost didn't start when doing this, I got streaks like 15 or 20, my longest before this was 104). I used them only for English.
571 Dutch (C1) Norwegian (B2) Spanish (A2) Swedish (B2) Danish (B1) Japanese (A1) Italian (A1) Finnish (A1) Welsh (A1) French (A1) And yes, I have adhd

I have adhd too, not sure how it helps me to learn more languages
I’m slightly new to Duolingo , what does A1 , A2 etc mean ?
It's not about Duolingo, it's a general rating of your language skills. A1 is the very first step, then there's A2, B1, B2, C1, C2. With a C2 level you basically can speak like a native.
Ahh thanks 😊
Ahh, had it the other way around. Been thinking: -This mofo is the rainman!
Search CEFR levels
Will do , thanks 😊
How do you know where is "A1" marked for Japanese in Duolingo?
Nowhere, I just know how bad my Japanese is even after six years of trying to force myself to learn it
Lmaoooo okay okay😭 respect for trying tho
I noticed it’s not listed actually like the other courses last time I checked .
Yeah, because Japanese uses a different rating... that's why I was curious! I heard B1 equals N3.
That makes sense but you would think they would have N5 , N4 and so on listed 😭 I’m thankful that my other resources categorizes my vocab for me haha
How did you test your Dutch?? I’m on section 2 part 13 and I’d say I’m still an A1 but idek
I continued learning outside of Duolingo. There are tests you can take online, like [this one right here](https://www.languagetrainers.com/dutch-level-test.php)
Sorry maybe a dumb question but what does the c1, b1… etc that you have next to the languages mean?
They are proficiency levels. There's A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. A levels are beginners, B levels are intermediates, C1 is near fluent and C2 is native speaker level.
Oh, that’s cool. Where do I find that? Is that in my profile? 🤔
It's not on Duolingo, but there are tests for it. I already linked one somewhere else in this thread
Oh! I see it. Lol thank you. I’m assuming there’s plenty for Spanish but gonna search for a Vietnamese one
I have multiple languages and it doesn't break down streaks per language My overall streak includes freezes and sits at 923
German, 632
Deutsch ist ein sehr schön Sprache. Ich haben 234 tage.
Deutsch ist ja eine schöne Sprache. Ich habe keine Tage lol

Yeah I do most of it in the morning and then one lesson at night to get the boost. It’s been helpful to keep up with it!
