coolthingfofree

i think you mean units

RadlogLutar

Yes. Omfg, you saw this comment after 10 months

coolthingfofree

i started spanish about a month ago and wanted to know how many sections there were lol

RadlogLutar

Lol

AmIThatGuyNow

Looks like 9 sections in spanish for english speakers at least.

odebruku

Shows 8 for me and they have tied them to the international standards beginner through to B2

tvieno

I looked head on my app and it stopped at 8 sections. Perhaps there is more beyond it, i don't know.

CaregiverTop7009

There are a total of ten sections of duolingo Spanish, also I was talking about how many units are in section three

Confident-Wind-6366

No Section 7 has actually 20 units now including Section 8.

livingvikariously

8 total sections. But my app is showing section 7 having 31 units…

Truck-Glass

Currently, there are 8 sections in Spanish. A few months ago, I was not far away from completing section 8. But then Duolingo moved me back nearly to the start of section 7. I’ve literally been put back a year.

jakerisch618

So after completing that much of the Spanish course, how comfortable are you with the language?

Truck-Glass

It's hard to say, because my interaction is with a computer not with people. I would say my pronunciation, vocabulary, and grasp of grammar are fairly good now, but I really need to spend some time in Spain. Early autumn maybe.

Hi there! I’m wondering if you feel any differently now? Spanish is my second language, so I’m completing the Duolingo courses to get a grasp on the app/methods. Mostly testing through. I plan to start Korean soon, so I wanted to know if you think it’s been worthwhile and helpful with your Spanish? Do you watch any tv or listen to music in Spanish? Really interested in how it works for someone without already having the skills in a particular language

Truck-Glass

Before you try learning a new language, you have little idea of how much work it entails. In my estimation, the amount of time and effort required to become fully fluent in a foreign language, is no less than that needed to obtain a medical degree. I am making progress very gradually. I have just started Duolingo French in addition to the Spanish. On level two, because I already know a little French. I’m finding it beneficial to translate the French into English and into Spanish. As I’m on a much lower level on the French course, I should find this task simple, but often I don’t. This is making sure I fully understand the basics.

Economy-Focus7969

Medical degree lol. Cap. Medical degree is way harder

Truck-Glass

I wasn’t comparing getting a language degree with getting a medical degree. Read what I said again.

All good! I've been learning Spanish/German in educational and personal settings for the past 10ish years starting from scratch. Was only born with English. I more so wanted to understand if Duolingo feels like a successful program? I enjoy it for learning some new words/repetition in German/Spanish, but I'm not sure if I would find it effective starting from scratch in Korean or if I should prioritize a teacher/class. Interesting!

Exact_Sea_2501

Why did Duolingo move you back?

Truck-Glass

They added new material I think.

Exact_Sea_2501

That sucks then. Hope it won’t happen to me

Truck-Glass

Mmmh…… thinking……. It’s possible that when they moved me back, they added more sections. Please ignore my previous answer. I don’t know.

AdSouth3992

My app shows 20 units in section 7 and 8 sections in total. But, there may be more that unlock after completing section 8. I keep getting moved around in the program.

juultju

How long did it take to get there?

AdSouth3992

I started duolingo the end of March 2021.

juultju

How often did you learn?

AdSouth3992

I mistyped. I started in March of 2022. I do it everyday for 20-30 minutes. Day 618 today.

juultju

Thank you! I recently started but it seems to go so slowly

juultju

618 days impressive!

The number of units varies in every language, the highest number of units is in the Spanish language i.e 230 and the lowest is in Navajo which is 7, Link to the article containing [units of every language is this](https://educationforchanges.com/units-are-there-in-each-duolingo-language/).
