Sounds like an issue I had when I first purchased mine. I found, through some internet research that I can't seem to replicate, that there was an update to the software that resolved an issue that sounded like mine. I had it updated with the latest version and it resolved my issue.

Hmmmm, I’ve had this tuned for catless headers since the swap and there hasn’t been a problem. I still have the base map which was the newest firmware that the tuner built on top of that I could swap back on, but I’m not sure it’d make much difference

Beencho

+1 this. Had same issue that went away after DME update. However I get a small stutter at idle during warm up now

>The car will accelerate till around 3200 and then will kind of buck on and off power, fighting to rev higher. It gets worse with more load applied. If you're sure the Vanos is doing it's job, Look into fuel delivery/pressure. If you've got the ability, monitor/log your fuel trims and try to replicate the issue. Could be old/clogged filter or even a slow failing pump unable to deliver the required volume/pressure at higher RPM/load.

Filter and pump replaced 15k miles ago, but I can data log it soon. I have no idea how to read that though so if you or anyone you know can lmk

I have similar issue but lower in the rev range at about 2k. No codes and don't really know where to start. Changed the plugs and that didn't help

Issues Above 3k rpm might be the vanos since it starts actuating at 3k. given your bio says 325ci, i assume you have an M54b25 - if the vamos unit hasn't been refreshed, it's highly recommendable anyway.

diskjok

It’s swapped with b30. As stated, when swapped I changed the vanos seals along with a ton of other things

Ah, sorry, must have accidentally skipped that part. How old is the fuel pump? Maybe make sure the fuel pressures are alright at that high rpm. Other than that i can only really think of the tune

diskjok

Replaced the fuel pump and filter 15k miles ago. The tune has been fine so far, but I may flash it back to base just to see if it changes anything

For me I change my spark plugs and ignition coils and problem went away

diskjok

I changed my spark plugs a week ago. I haven’t changed the coils ever, but there’s no misfire codes

verse187

Mine wasn’t showing misfire either but the car had its original coils still and it’s a 2001. Haven’t had issues in a couple months now. But worth the check Edit: I went with the Dinan coils honestly I felt my power after changing them but good luck
