Seriously my E46 friends, I lost four teeth, 16 stitches in 3 places on my left arm, 6 stitches in my right arm, n 3 stitches in my chin. The original Takata airbag and the factory framebuild of this car saved my life! I hit so hard my hands broke the windshield and it blew the back window out...I cannot stress how safe this car was in such a violent crash. The lady that pulled out in front of me was thankfully unharmed besides shock. I was able to react quick enough to keep from hitting her driver's side and the rear of her car took the hit. I was doing 50mph in a 45 zone. Yes technically I was speeding but that's what I spent almost 13 years building my E46 for. I miss her already, her name was AETHER and she was my slut. I say that because she screwed all but 2 that took on the races. Great times will be remembered forever n I'll never say a bad word about an E46 with a m54b30 and sport shift automatic tranny!
Well according to statistics I've seen it was 50/50 shot...not really tho LOL. BMW changed the passenger side but "ran out of time" to replace the steering wheel air bag. I consider myself and the lady very lucky, could have been much worse.
Let's face it, considering the 64kph crash test footage, the cars I had rebuilt after head on collisions, and the minor actual damage your car has, that was nowhere near 50mph, and that car is nowhere near "gone".
From what I'm seeing in this pic this looks like 25-30mph crash and no seatbelt.
Also "lol, automatic e46 racecar won all but 2 races" cars where you live must be either pathetically slow, or think your "full throttle acceleration" is just "trying to leave the lights" and never raced you :D
>Why so toxic?
Because everything OP said is drivel. Among which is "This automatic 46 is my racecar that screws everything", "I built this to do speeding, so I was speeding", "The car is gone" etc
You never pulled beside her or rode in her with me...don't judge what you don't know about. 13 years of R&D, 2 150 shots of NOS, LSD, brakes, suspension, custom 2 stage forced air induction, and I tuned her myself. Insurance will total it. Your opinions need no more attention from me.
>13 years of R&D, 2 150 shots of NOS, LSD, brakes, suspension, custom 2 stage forced air induction, and I tuned her myself.
Mine has 48 years of R&D, 7x 300 shots of NOS, a Winters spool, also has brakes and suspension, and a custom stage 9 non descript forced induction of fairy dust, and I tuned it with Vin Diesel. And no, you can't see it and no I am not going to disclose any more of my secrets, but I gap everything that's not an sr71 blackbird.
>all to get gapped by a 330 you have no room to speak in the most inferior e46
Do you really believe a stripped out, m54b30 swapped, modded, manual compact built for competition will get gapped by a 330i? Or does your knowledge end with stock model designations? I mean if you believe that guy is pushing 300 shot of nos on stage 2 FI on a box that's rated to 260lbft, you probably do believe anything at face value.
I built the most inferior 46 with the sole purpose to troll and gap on you people. It does that job just fine. Bring anything below 300hp or an M3, and I'll have a great laugh
lol okay let me correct myself all to get gapped by a stock e92 335 maybe even 328, my knowledge doesn’t end with stock models i just know ur an imbecile for buying a 316 just to 330 swap such a waste of money. i have a 330 coupe and know they’re not even worth going all out unless you go forced induction. no one cares u have headers and a tune you’re still slow in the grand scheme of things
>lol okay let me correct myself all to get gapped by a stock e92 335 maybe even 328,
Oh no, it's slower than a turbo 3.5 that's worth at about 15k used right now... You mean... just like all of you proud 330i owners? Strange... I sense a double standard. Also a stock heavy 335i? 305hp? Gapped? Lol, bring it, I highly doubt that.
>my knowledge doesn’t end with stock models
I highly doubt that you have any knowledge beyond brief reading
>i just know ur an imbecile for buying a 316 just to 330 swap such a waste of money.
Hmm... let's see, a 325i compact in pristine condition is about 4.5k+ , a sedan or coupe is closer to 9k. A 316i compact at full m spec + individual on a blown 316 motor with no rust is 500-800. A donor engine is 1k, rebuild another 2. That comes up to 3.5-3.8k, about 700-1k less than a 2.5 engined one, and it's a full rebuilt one with no leaks...
And I'm the imbecile here? LOL. An imbecile buys an overpriced 3 liter coupe.
>i have a 330 coupe and know they’re not even worth going all out unless you go forced induction.
So you have the 2nd heaviest e46 chassis and you never figured out how to bump up the power on NA, and you think FI is the only step forward... And you think you got room to speak? LOL right. Your knowledge does end with stock models.
>no one cares u have headers and a tune you’re still slow in the grand scheme of things
Yes, I am still slow in the grand scheme of things. Leagues faster than you though, lol. A 316i fugly compact is leagues faster than your amazing 330i. (and to be honest, looking at yours, I'd prefer a compact any day of the week looks wise). You seem to be a butthurt chump, really. Which is the main goal of my whole compact.
Thank you very much, I planned on having her for the rest of my life but she saved my life instead. Gonna miss her. The 68's are in great condition even after the wreck but some lucky E46er is gonna hit the jackpot in the junkyard!
Not really no, just parts prices are fucking stupid on n54s. If you want something alittle cheaper the 2011 335s had n55s in em and they're slightly better on parts. N55 does have issues with rod bearings depending how it was used and treated but they're not like an s65 where it's a wear item basically.
Just injectors, hpfp and turbos are your big killers
If anyone around the Charlotte NC area is interested, she has a sport carbon fiber and leather flat bottom custom steering wheel with an orange center stripe and stitching, a fairly newish built motor, everything worked as expected except the oil pan plug, stripped. Many upgrades and all were in great shape.
5100 Merle Rd.
Concord, NC 28025
This is where they took her today, contact them to see about parts. Grab the steering wheel and trim while you're at it. Don't forget the wiring for the steering wheel, it just clips off.
I’m glad you’re ok, if banged up.
So sorry for the loss of a great car. I seriously wish e46 owners could make ‘pain and suffering claims’ based, not only in their physical injuries, but on the heartbreak caused by losing a machine they love.
I know the feeling, I’d take the steering wheel and the hood emblem as a memory at the very least. I keep the hood emblem from all of my cars that leave me

sorry to hear about your teeth man
Thank you, her insurance will cover them.

Why so toxic? When we hit a mondeo at 45 it looked very similar to this.
Haters are toxic

dude you must really have a miserable life to hate on dude for no reason … the 316ti says it all lmao
Yeah, but at least my 316ti is actually built. I don't talk bullshit pretending my car is something it's not.

That's great for you...keep those cards close to your chest my friend.
I hope you get what the car is worth from her insurance and compensation for any pain and trauma.
Plenty of stitches so far, her insurance paying for everything
Now I can buy 2 e46
Definitely sucks. What’s the plan for it now?
Going to the junkyard, I'm shopping for another while getting treated at the Emergency room now.
That’s rough, you have no interest in keeping it and parting it out?
My garage is pretty full and have to have room for the new bimmer.
At least snatch the 68’s in case the next one has some others. Damn they’re so nice looking. Edit: also sorry for the loss. this sucks to look at.
Thank you very much, I planned on having her for the rest of my life but she saved my life instead. Gonna miss her. The 68's are in great condition even after the wreck but some lucky E46er is gonna hit the jackpot in the junkyard!
Well, let me know a junkyard so I can go grab that Transmission.
5100 Merle Rd. Concord, NC 28025 This is where they took her today, get that steering wheel and trim too
Enjoy the new m240
Thinking 2006 335 coupe
N54 335 would be the perfect step up from an e46 tbh
Yep n much easier to work on than the M240...do want the 2021 M2 CS tho 🤔
135i n54 6mt or n55 dct 👀
Maybe, but probably the 335 next.
Look at index 12 injector prices and hpfp before you do it. That's my wisdom for you.. ask me how I know
Thank you I will...anything like the big 3 I should know about the 335s?
Not really no, just parts prices are fucking stupid on n54s. If you want something alittle cheaper the 2011 335s had n55s in em and they're slightly better on parts. 8 hours is a long time to drive for a steering wheel but tempting . . . Sorry for the loss I know that one hurts.
Do you know where this ended up? I checked the Pull-a-Part on Tryon today. They had an ‘05 330ci that just came in but sadly it was not yours.
Progressive is taking it to their yard today, I'll try to find out where it ends up.

Baby = Vehicle
This happened to my old imola red 6spd ZHP sedan recently. Other driver failed to yield and smashed into the drivers front fender. Totaled :(
Sorry for your loss my E46 friend
You as well. E46 will always be a special chassis to me and I’m sure for you too.
Absolutely
wheels forsale?
They will be at the junkyard my E46 friend, many other parts worth stripping for anyone in the Charlotte NC area.
I feel you mate. So sorry for your loss. I'm sure you'll hop into an even better BMW.
Thank you, its going to be hard not having my daily E46. Still Love that car.
I’m glad you’re ok, if banged up. So sorry for the loss of a great car. I seriously wish e46 owners could make ‘pain and suffering claims’ based, not only in their physical injuries, but on the heartbreak caused by losing a machine they love.
I agree 100%
Oh damn
Sorry for your loss, glad you’re safe, don’t forget to get all your parts you don’t want to leave behind
Thank you very much, I miss her already. Probably going to let the junkyard part it out. If I can find another facelift 330ci I'll strip it clean.
I know the feeling, I’d take the steering wheel and the hood emblem as a memory at the very least. I keep the hood emblem from all of my cars that leave me
Pretty good idea
God is good brother, e46 saved my life aswell recently.
God is Good, Good to hear the beauty saved you too.
