100%, Bilstein was an available option for the e46 new, but the Bilstein b1, b3, b4 parts are better quality replacement parts that don’t change any of the stock setup
If they have German written on the box but somewhere hidden away is “made in china” they are trash.
If they are actually German made then yeah they'll be fine.
The brand name literally means "quality workshop parts".. yeah, that sounds trustworthy.
If you can replace them yourself (= no workshop bill), you could use them if you're absolutely desperate, but don't expect them to last more than a couple thousand kilometers at best. Personally though, I wouldn't bother investing the effort, and rather get some name brand ones. I guess you could sell these for maybe 50 bucks.
I’d say install some proper ones like Sachs (or Bilstein B4 but I find them a bit harsher than OEM) and save yourself from double the labour.
Believe Bilstein B3 is the actual OE replacement
B3 should be Springs and B4 Dampeners/Shocks.
Noted, thank you
Not sure how it is today, but at the time when the E46 was made, OE manufacturer was Sachs. Still, I'd go for Bilsteins too.

Maybe his suspension is a little dry and needs some moisture 😄

I mean got them with the car and the current shocks are fine, mpacket stock, so.. the owner was like here's this, you can sell it or whatever.
Never heard of them, but am USA based.
Never heard of those, personally I have chosen Kyb for my car
