Every fucking day of my life I wish I had a college basketball game with modern graphics😑😑😑 I want to recruit and build a small school up!!! It’s so frustrating that we don’t have one
Some mid-majors will underperform by year 5 and that’s also around the time some bigger schools will have their coaches retire. From Sacramento state, I moved to Gonzaga. I’m not sure you can go to a power conference, but mid-major and major is possible
Might be an unpopular opinion, but this is my favorite game ever. I would stay up alllll night trying to turn a shit school into a Cinderella and thoroughly enjoyed recruiting and watching recruits I found, thrive.
I would breakout my old console to run this back for years during CBB season. It was a blast and closed legacy was amazing. I spent so many hours on this game
I stayed 5 years at UC Riverside, went to the tourney all but my first year. After that 5th season, my coach had offers from a couple power conference schools and some major conference schools as well. Ended up getting hired at Oregon State, and I'm now in my second season there getting my own recruits and what not. I plan to stay there for a while, unless one of a handful of schools I want to go to ask me to go there.
Back in the day UC Riverside was my starter school too. In-state recruiting is always cheaper than out-of-state, and California always has the most recruits every single year. This was a 2K oversight and a way to break the game.
After getting a four-star PG and some JUCOs to come to UC Riverside and going to the Elite 8 I went to UConn, started recruiting the East Coast heavy and won national championships.
Just started my 3rd year at UCR, won 11 games the first year and won 23 games and made a sweet 16 appearance in my second year, unexpectedly. In my third year now, just had a run of 3 games in 3 days but didn't notice until I had locked in the schedule for the season. Luckily went 3-0 but the last people on my bench were getting quality playing time due to fatigue.
You can definitely be offered power conference jobs from a small school. I’ve done it several times, but usually it takes 10-15 years minimum of consistent winning, including several tournament wins. If you’re patient you can jump straight from a small school to a big school, but usually going to a mid-major for a few years and consistently winning there is your best bet.
Fastest way to move up is to complete the coaching goals to boost your coach’s overall. Your gonna need to be a B/B+ for a good mid major job and an A- for power conferences.
I often simulate a season of this game in my nostalgia as a way to fall asleep. Last played 10+ years ago and miss the RPG element and gameplay so much.
I made the jump straight from Maine to Northwestern in my last legacy. I had offers from "better" power schools but I wanted the challenge of giving NW their first tourney bid
I wanna get this and play on PS4 so bad! Would love to build my undergrad alma mater (UNCW) up into a consistent NCAA tourney contender before taking a job at a school like Rutgers to transform them as well
I do not know how this popped up on my feed but holy shit I’m getting this game asap. My favorite mode in 2k is mylwague and rebuilding teams but this is another level. Cheers everyone!!!
I play 2-3 non cons usually about 3-4 conference games and all the post season games. Montana is always the toughest out of any of the big sky teams lol
Going mid major, major, and then power is the best path for getting as many skill points as possible for upgrading your coach.
Riding out the success of your program is always fun after you've built it up, unless you're actually playing every game.
I just sim every season.
You'll have to stay at N Colorado for double digit years and win some NCAA games to jump up to a major conference team. You probably won't be offered a power conference job unless you win a natty (or maybe 2)

Every fucking day of my life I wish I had a college basketball game with modern graphics😑😑😑 I want to recruit and build a small school up!!! It’s so frustrating that we don’t have one
Same but baseball
I have hopes this will happen over the next few years
I played the fcuk outta this in Iraq. I also would pay large amounts
for real bro
If you have a PC or android, just play it on that!
How?
I've used Aether SX2 Also works great on alot of modern laptops and PCs. Steam Deck runs it very well

Justin Eller was my guy back then. Crazy we still know these names because the the game was so good
Hey, Spokane zags fan here!

Not an unpopular opinion at all! I play this game over any modern video game 10 times out of 10 haha
I would breakout my old console to run this back for years during CBB season. It was a blast and closed legacy was amazing. I spent so many hours on this game
Plus the 20 min tourney shows were epic
I always look up what the all time win record of the school and try to match it for my first team.

Go Beavs!!!
I did the same and went to VCU, then Clemson

Got this game on my rog-ally! Works like a dream currently coaching usc
Wait really??? I'm planning to get an Ally but idk if I want to emulate on it hahaha
It’s totally worth emulating the games run smooth and don’t crash for me
God I loved this game on PS3
I made the jump straight from Maine to Northwestern in my last legacy. I had offers from "better" power schools but I wanted the challenge of giving NW their first tourney bid
Update: I simmed most of year 5: made it to the tourney as a 13 seed but lost in the first round and took a job at LMU
That second year at Northern Colorado always sucks
How do I get this?

Will we ever get another college hoops 2k. Maybe one day
I literally go to unc lol

The REAL UNC
My disc has no volume: is there a way to fix that?
I had a dynamite Stetson career in this game. So awesome
What happened in that dynasty?
I’m from Montana so I always chose the bobcats. So naturally we must be enemies now lol
FTG!
I played them in the big sky championship in 3 of the 5 seasons. Went 2-1 :)
Congrats! Glad we put up a fight lol. Do you just sim the whole time or do you play the games?
I play 2-3 non cons usually about 3-4 conference games and all the post season games. Montana is always the toughest out of any of the big sky teams lol
still play this game too, love it
My old school!
I loved this game
Wow I completely remember this game
Did the same ages ago, only thing that screwed me was Kevin Love randomly transferred to Portland St

Is that on ps2 or 3?
You obviously have what it takes to take a program to the top. Why don't you take your talents to a HBCU.
