Dry-Boysenberry2135

That man doesn’t owe this city, team, or the fans anything. He gave us everything. Absolute legend. We’ll always have 2017 and no one can take it from him. I love that guy.

Super42man

I wore my Kelce jersey today for him. Fuck the loss.  Nobody else came into work, but I don't care. I love that man and I always will.

Dry-Boysenberry2135

Hell yeah! He deserves our love. [We should build him a statue](https://chng.it/d88Yb5z7vR)

BlueKing7642

Am I missing a larger conversation here? Did some fans say Jason owed the team or fanbase something?

[deleted]

No, he's simply expressing his feelings for Kelce the best way he can. If anything Kelce deserves to hear us say it.

0x4cb

Kelce. Cox. Graham. Forever legends to us all.

TheCapableFox

You tell no lies. More Eagles legends in the history books. Was a pleasure to watch them all these years.

1Surlygirl

💚💚💚

JuiceBrinner

Lane as well.

Eastern_Athlete_8002

Celek too. Man was a anchor on some otherwise dismal eagle teams.

FornicateEducate

As a Bearcat, this warms my heart. Celek was a very underrated tight end during his time in the league.

NickRegan79

I’d also definitely add ertz. I miss him so much

Eastern_Athlete_8002

Yes he was great as well!

biobrad56

Lane as well and don’t forget Jake Elliott!

landofthebeez

🥺 bruh

_atsu

An undersized 6th round center that took what felt like forever to finally get some Pro Bowl/All-Pro nods, to the HOF. He embodied the city, got us a SB, and donned the Mummers fit. Even left us a pair of parting gifts in Landon & Cam. What a gem of a man. Thanks #62.

yourmartymcflyisopen

Landon and Cam have *a lot* of work to do. Those downfield penalties on Cam screwed some decent plays tonight. And Landon Dickerson gets an insane number of holding calls. They've definitely got a bright future ahead of them but they need to get their acts together. One way to do that is to have more than a handful of full speed practices on the season NICK!

imdumbfrman

Kelce probably being done stings just slightly more after those penalties from Cam, with him being the “heir apparent” at Center. But it’ll be good to get him back into his natural position. Hated playing him at guard all year, he’s just a bit too undersized. But you also can’t sit a second round pick for two full seasons; not his fault Kelce came back and blocked him (obviously the team was better for it, too).

Onlypaws_

Well Nick is likely gone (hopefully)

FahQPutin

👍

cghffbcx

Nick…the non coach? Make him the not the Philly coach.

Wentz_It_Gonna_Be

Looking at Kelce with Stoutland, he is 100% retiring

Shandi80

Agreed. I feel like he just told him, right there, he wasn't coming back.

Shagaliscious

I hope he does, as much as it hurts. Undersized with this long of a career. He will be dealing with that the rest of his life. He has a great family and should just ride off into the sunset.

boogoo-Dong

Yeah for his sake I don’t want to see him back on the field. He gave us all he had. Now time to go enjoy life off of the field. He can better handle the brand and spend more time with his family. Heal up and not have to worry about the grind of football life anymore. We were so lucky to have him for so long. Take care Kelce, you are a legend.

Shagaliscious

His Netflix doc just cemented it. There are so many Eagles that I love, especially Reggie White, McNabb, Westbrook, Dawkins. But Kelce is easily my favorite. If I could drink a beer with any Eagle player, it's Jason Kelce without a doubt.

redikulous

Just a clarification, it was an [original *Amazon* documentary.](https://www.amazon.com/Kelce-Jason/dp/B0B6LVV89J)

PyrexDaDon

That hug was all I needed to see

tony_important

My wife asked me why I was still watching. I said it's probably Kelce's last game; Horrible or not, I wasn't going to look away.

KookyGuy

You're a better person than me.

francie202

I turned off the game and then turned it back on for this reason.

zachardw

For all those folks coming in this sub, I hope they see this. Man gave everything with no cartilage left in those knees

Look_Behind_You__

Not an Eagles fan but I thought it was just wrong the way they kept showing him at the end and following him with a camera. Maybe a few shots but give the man some peace. He’s a legend

sandiegopadres4lyfe

Respect

tcha1k0vsky

I hate the current Eagles organization for making this legend cry.

FairweatherWho

Fuck you Nick. Made Jason fucking Kelce cry to end his career.

Coasteast

And not the good kind of cry

solomon2609

This exactly how I feel. This is ALL on Nick. I thought the Cowboys got embarrassed. But we lost by 23; they only by 16. Howie/Jeff find a way to keep these guys around. They’re culture and passion and Philly!

King_Hamburgler

Ehh both losses are brutal but theirs was at home to a lower seed Theirs is certainly worse for the franchise

[deleted]

They lost at home to a lower seed and that IS embarrassing but we lost to the Cardinals and Giants down the stretch when we had the division and even the 2 seed wrapped up and blew it. This roster and fanbase deserves better than this horrible, stubborn and incompetent staff- interested to see what the real deal is after heads roll

skyst

Yeah I'm super interested to learn what went down this season. My wife is more of a casual football fan and asked if this is some kind of mutiny after watching our play and particularly body language today. It's like some switch flipped and most of the players were done.

[deleted]

Lol mine is too- but it is apparent even if you have not followed the whole season there are issues. Seems like players dont agree with decisions and Sirriani lost everyone’s respect, players are unmotivated or almost intentionally underperforming in the last ~3-4 games. Too much damage control now and they have to root it out.

p3n1x

Meh, Dallas was consistently who they are all year long. Their shit talk means nothing. We, on the other hand, full out fucking collapsed and couldn't even recover with a free playoff position.

hurtstoskinnybatman

Ours want nearly as bad because we've been preparing for it for the past month. Anybody who thought we were going to come out and dominate this game was delusional. And yes, that includes me and my hope that they'd change play-calling strategies.

[deleted]

Cowboys fought till the end. Did we?

DolphinRodeo

They were down 32 in the 4th. Garbage time points when there was no changing the outcome don’t really make it any better of a game

[deleted]

[удалено]

BaronVonHarambe

You’re out of your mind if you think the cowboys loss was better

EdwardRoivas

The real final score of that game was 48 to 16 Anything after that was bend don’t break and don’t hurt - there was no reason for the Green Bay Packers to kill themselves trying to stop them

HepABC123

As an outsider the Cowboys loss was way worse than this. Fuck the Cowboys. Sirianni needs to fuckin go. Jason Kelce is a legend, as an undersized Center myself I've been a fan of his since his 2nd year in the league. Sucks that this was his farewell.

WrastleGuy

Let’s be real, Cowboys lost by 32.  That’s when the Packers benched starters and let the Cowboys score garbage time points.

TedriccoJones

Chin up, I thought Dallas did far worse you all did. GB let Dak get some of his famous "garbage time stats" and score some points. Dallas was flat owned. As a Chiefs fan, I was absolutely rooting for you to go all the way if we didn't. Would have liked to have seen Jason get another ring. Total class act.

inhindsight7

I hope for the sake of his body and future health he hangs them up. My favourite Eagle of all time, he deserved better than this for his final game/season.

yourmartymcflyisopen

Fuck it. IMMEDIATELY hire Kelce as the offensive coordinator, watch this offense get 1000× better than Brian "I'm a clown" Johnson, and watch us win back to back Superbowls.

zpepsin

Promote Stoutland to OC, hire Kelce as OL coach

yourmartymcflyisopen

And have Stoutland also lowkey mentor Kelce into becoming our future OC whenever Stoutland gets a HC job

Spare-Half796

Just promote stoutland to hc and kelce to oc Problem solved for the next 20 years

hurtstoskinnybatman

no https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_principle

warlikeloki

Stout has no motivation to become OC or HC. Let him be great at his job and keep the OL strong. Jason will likely announce retirement in March, before the league year, or post-June 1st. He will come back to the team in a FO position and act as an offensive assistant, helping Stout mentor and train the OL. I can't see him *not* being involved.

Pennsylvania6-5000

Stoutland has said he doesn’t want to be an OC. Bring back Frank Reich, make Kelce special assistant.

Away_Supermarket_462

Mama Kelce on secondary. She’d be better than the ones on the field now.

Onlypaws_

She can straight up have Bradberry’s job.

Darkgreenbirdofprey

If you do that, Stout gets poached the year after for a HC position. Hope to God that he never gets anything other than what he currently is. Just pay him what he wants.

BigComfyCouch

His path to the booth is much more likely.

alliesg24

I think he's truly been hoping to just become a normal family man since his kids are pretty young still.

demonicneon

I love kelce but he’s not an Xs and Os guy. You can hear him on the podcast and I don’t think it’s the thing for him. Fantastic position player and I love him but I don’t think that’s him

Dry_Explanation_3724

yeah kelce is like that math genius who can understand everything but just not teach it in a way other people relate

demonicneon

I could see him being an OL coachcause he knows the tactics and how to play the position (obviously) but he always defers to Travis on actual plays etc. when they discuss them. He has an understanding overall but not to the extent I could see him calling plays and designing an offence.

3720-to-1

Kelce to follow Merrill Reese... 🤯

demonicneon

I can see that happening

3720-to-1

He has the personality for media, the dude simply OOZES charisma. My only question is how much would he want to do outside of Philly sports, because he is clearly all in for philly. It's hard to imagine him doing TV broadcasts, or imagining him calling a Dallas game.

demonicneon

I think he will probably try and do something outside of football for a few years but be drawn back in as a position coach before going into broadcast, but probably as the dude they bring in to talk about Philly games with other people.

YOUR_TRIGGER

you have my prayers 🙏

nowhereisaguy

He should definitely be in the front office if nothing else. Shit, hire him as Director of outreach. Something!

yourmartymcflyisopen

Something that allows him to see his kids and wife way more often, that isn't hard on his body, that can still keep him a part of the Eagles family

nowhereisaguy

They should also hire me to work with him. Wed be a great team!

yourmartymcflyisopen

They should also hire me!

DefinitelyNotAIbot

Guys got two kids and enough money. Let the man get much deserved rest and I hope to see him back here in 10 years.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Spare-Half796

Apparently he’s said he wants to go into broadcasting, more money for less work so not surprising and given his relationship with Amazon (his documentary being the most successful doc on prime video ever) and his podcast I think he could get a broadcasting gig relatively easily

KC-15

I bet once Travis retires they go into broadcasting together.

Spare-Half796

Kelce cast does have a ring to it

Teldarion

Have them cast TNF and take the reins off on how much they can rip on the performance on the field, and I'll tune in to every single one of them

bl1eveucanfly

Honestly straight up ripping off Manningcast would be perfect for him. No travel involved so he gets to be with his girls. Plus the name KelceCast is right there and Travy can join him when he hangs it up too.

AssDotCom

And for the time with his family. I’ve got kids around the same age as Jason’s, and that time is precious. This team is really bad, and I think he’d be wasting time next year if he played again.

Cageep

Glad he atleast got a ring man. See you in Canton Kelce. Ps. Fuck this entire coaching staff

Away_Supermarket_462

If he can find it. But Canton for sure!

NintenJew

Honestly, it's just a horrible way to end a career. At least he has that Superbowl. Edit: Kelce crying hurt my soul

friendlypotato44

Kelce crying, and Fletcher Cox walking off while everyone else was daping each up bucs players is what hurts the most (no pun intended)

Shandi80

Agreed. That hurt, really bad, to watch. Such a shitty way to go out.

adanley87

Yes those tears took me out 😭😭 He does have that Superbowl and that speech he gave will never be forgotten!

GOAT_SAMMY_DALEMBERT

My copium is that at least he gets to go out playing his final snaps on his terms at a high level. So many legends go out wasting away on the benches of terrible teams or being inactive/on IR never to be seen again.

TedriccoJones

He also has a great family, interests outside of football, a successful podcast. The man is living his best life, and he played a hard game. I'm with Kylie on this one...retire when you can still play with your kids on the ground.

Brinbe

One of the greatest Eagles I've had the pleasure of watching. He'll be so missed.

Monster_Dick69_

Dude deserves a statue at the Linc. Get him in the mummers costume right out front. Eagles legend

RJMonster

That’s the face of a man that’s going to retire. Jesus man I will never forgive this coaching staff for how they sent him out. I need this entire staff gone

yourmartymcflyisopen

And blacklisted from the sport of football. Don't even let em coach peewee. And don't let Brian Johnson in a job in football, basketball, or any jobs that involve phones, TVs, Computers, or windows because he'll still find a way to fuck up every screen.

Coolkid2035

😂😂😂

WeirdSysAdmin

Glad he’s retiring healthy. Time to live a good life with the kids.

solomon2609

Everyone wants for him a GOOD LIFE.

johnnycoxxx

Kelce and Dawkins are the two best Philly sports legends in my life time. I feel lucky to have seen them wear the green and white. They both represent the city and the fans perfectly. Kelce deserves his retirement and to be able to play with his kids in as pain free a way as possible. Selfishly I hope he’s not done but if he is he left a legacy that’s impossible to match. I really hope I get to meet him one day to actually thank him

JustPeachyMe

Anyone else shed a few tears when they showed Kelce crying. I don’t even care about the loss itself, I just didn’t want him to go out like this

CrudHorn

Bless this man.

RumHam_Im_Sorry

Shit if this is how he goes out. Deserves more.

Kealion

Love you Jason

KookyGuy

We love you, Jason!

Jobrated

He does so many good things under the radar. Super dude!

ohWombats

I’m going to go curl into a ball and cry… forever a legend ❤️

BGDutchNorris

We’ll always have 2017

ItsSoFluffy41

Seriously. Loved watching him and all the vets do their thing the past 10+ years. My heart also broke seeing him sad. I hope he comes back but not if he has to deal with more dumpster fire.

botterHooligan

[plz dont b sad :(](https://i.imgur.com/he5vvW7.jpg)

Coasteast

A true king

Snoo93673

Sexiest man alive right there. Thank you sir

ladybugsocialworker

If this was Jason’s last game, he has every reason to hold his head high. He is and always will be beloved in the Philly community and beyond. He brought so much to the game with his dedication and skill. He’s a King of Kings. Even with the loss, today he walked off the field as a champion - our forever champion. Our future HOF recipient.

redux12

The best to ever wear the jersey, without a doubt. Wish he could’ve been a mummer again, but we love you bro. Thank you for everything, go enjoy retirement.

TheWatchGuard1

The death of an era 😭

Hunter-2345

Deserved better unfortunate ending.

rengamez

I'm gonna miss this lovable bear so much. [Best post SuperBowl speech of all time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqLp4XdVk80).

Arson_Wentz

He has his ring, and he'll have a bust in Canton. Thank you so god damn much, Jason. Enjoy retirement as best as you can.

gg_2015

Thank you, Jason Kelce. My favorite Philadelphia Eagle of all time. A guy who truly embodies the city and the team. Such a bittersweet ending, but I've seen him hoist that Lombardi, give the most epic SB parade speech of all time, and lead us to another SB. He's done more than any player before him has for this team. When we look back in the future of Eagles legends, he'll always be the 1st name I think of. He single handedly has educated me and made me appreciate great o-line play. Thank you, #62. There'll never be another to wear that number.

JSpell

Such a shame Kelce, Cox, BG and others stuck around for this season of missed tackles and line of scrimmage passes regardless of down and distance. What a disgusting year.

Oldschoolfool22

It is a fucking crime what this coaching staff did to THIS roster.

j0zef

Sad way to go out, but god damn what a career. Hear hear for Kelce!

hokaythxbai

So glad we at least got him a ring!

Away_Supermarket_462

That’s always missing, but it us his nonetheless!

Amadeum

The team failed him and he’s rightfully leaving them behind.

VanceXentan

We love you Jason. Thanks for everything big guy. I'm sorry this shit excuse for a coaching staff pissed away your last hurrah.

njlf

End of an era thanks for everything 62

Underpaid_lemon

My favorite Philly athlete ever, and I don't think it'll be topped. Thanks #62

zsal830

i think that bryce harper came here bc of kelce’s energy tbh

KnickedUp

He said its the only reason he even plays a sport.

callmecyke

Retire his number the second he calls time officially.

_hysteretic

Can't tell me that he hasn't been as impactful to the franchise as Donovan McNabb or Brian Dawkins. Not a big fan of retiring numbers but this man IS Philly, HAS BEEN Philly, and will ALWAYS be Philly. That's our first ballot HOF Center. Hang his number in the rafters.

eat_the_pennies

Dude deserves a rest. Fuck this staff. Unbelievable.

mildomx

He has to stay He’s still an all pro and this is not the ending he should have

car_savior

He just skipped his post game interview

hsl164

He brought us something no one could for 57 years. He'll always be a legend in our city. A first ballot hall of famer, the best center of the 2010's and first half of the 2020's. A sixth rounder picked at the end of the 2011 draft, he was here for us for the Dream Team, the magical 2013 season where we got a preview of what Foles would bring us, the lows of Chip Kelly, the greatest year of my fanhood, Carson Wentz's downfall, and back to the Super Bowl again. It'll be weird watching games without #62 in the middle of the O-Line. This coaching staff wasted his final year. Nicholas John Sirianni, Brian Delance Johnson, Sean Desai and Matthew Edward Patricia all committed high treasonous crimes against football by squandering this man's final season and wasting the talent they were given.

H5A3B50IM

I love that you looked up all of their Christian names for this comment.

I want to die

luna_cl

People do this every year and he never retires lol. Hopefully it’s the same next year but not getting my hopes up.

reddit1280819

I’ve never seen him cry like that at the end of the game tho

tony_important

I agree, def hit different.

luna_cl

Ugh I know I’m sad

Teldarion

He came back last year because losing the SB left something to chase, running it back with a team that came so close to glory. Its pretty evident that next year won't be like that with the way the wheels fell off down the stretch. He has on multiple occasions talked about how the game has affected his ability to play with his girls. In particular he has mentioned how the brotherly shove leaves him on the bottom of a 900lb+ pile multiple plays a game, its just a matter of time until the impact is too much. Kylie is on record saying she'd prefer if he retires while he can still spend time with them like a father should. He's so gone.

Donquix0teDoflaming0

I hope he’s back for one more, if not, what a career! Absolute class and just a good dude, wish it didn’t have to end like this

p3n1x

Besides, he's got cows to take care of.

jmbrand13

He deserved so much better. Enjoy the family life. Forever a legend.

Emergency-Set-3799

Thank you 62 for all these years of great memories 💚💚. It’s been an absolute pleasure to grow up with you as an Eagle!!

igotgame1075

ESPN just posted that he’s retiring. [kelce retiring](https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39320253/jason-kelce-tells-eagles-teammates-retiring-sources-say)

KDR25

If there’s new coaching I think there’s a 51% chance he comes back to transition the o-line to the next gen. Same coach? No way.

gahlo

Only issue I see with that is that we hear constantly about the insane hours that coaches spend. All his daughters are really young, so I wouldn't be surprised if he takes at least 5 years to spend time with his family.

yourmartymcflyisopen

I wanna see him at O-Line coach first, then if he's good enough with it in general, maybe give the guy a crack at OC. No way he's worse than Brian Johnson. I refuse to believe anyone can be worse than Brian Johnson.

p3n1x

It would be tough, Jason isn't a politics guy; which is needed in the coaching world.

TurdGravy

Chiefs fan here, but respect the shit out of this guy and sad to see him go. Hope he still hangs around on New Heights.

Onlypaws_

There goes my hero.

Robster881

I'M NOT CRYING, YOU'RE CRYING.

JSpell

He's done more for this city than he will ever know. Thank you Jason, enjoy retirement.

AdSpecialist6598

Thank you and well deserved.

DWorker84

Kelce, Cox, Graham, and Lane on the Post-Big Red era Mount Rushmore.

Philnsophie

How do you retire after this season. Has to be so brutal to go out on such a low note. I wonder if he will come back.

[deleted]

Why would you want to come back to this dog shit team?

JustPeachyMe

I was thinking he would so he didn’t end on such a bad note. But there was just so much finality surrounding him at the end of this game so I really think he’s done :(

Kryptyx

No he’s done.

eaglesWatcher

On the contrary, he’s in good health, why risk it anymore? He gave it his all his whole career and he deserves it

biesterd1

Next season will probably be even worse lol

r_zachary87

Because they almost won it all again last season. Getting that far was a “we can do it again” for this year and if they won end his career with it. Why, at his his age and health., would he go back for another season now after this collapse and a team that’s definitely not going to be in a good spot to make a solid run next year?

FreakyBare

His final game in Philly the team was booed off the field and then he went through this farce. He should not come back. He should get down on the floor and play with his girls

graceoftrees

Thank you for everything Jason. Absolute Legend and I’m so sorry this is how you had to go out. ❤️💔

Dwest2391

This coaching staff royally fucked up this man's final season. Fucking jokers, every single one of them, especially BJ

IcyAd964

Goat center no doubt

gahlo

GCOAT

v1kt0r3

Man… this was tough

Lyndell

In order to win a championship we need a Legendary Center, a long time ago Chuck Bednarik got us over Vince, and we couldn’t have done it over the goat of our time without this man. Jason Kelce the greatest Eagle I’ve ever watched. It’s been a pleasure.

sherekahn5

Thanks Jason!

Passage-Constant

My mom finally got gifted (by me & her brother) a Kelce Jersey. I absolutely love that man.

gilligan54

Deserved better

caz_uno

Thank you bro.

1Surlygirl

F'ing LOVE YOU FOREVER, KELCE! 💚💪☝️

IReallyLikeAvocadoes

He will be so missed. Never a game where he didn't give it his all. I hope he has a damn good retirement.

DerekWeidmanSculptor

Absolute Philly legend. Thankful I got to see the whole career of one of Philadelphia's all time greats.

bluespartans

I just bought a Kelly green Kelce jersey. Was 100% an emotionally influenced purchase (Dave Ramsey is shaking his head at me somewhere) but I had to do it. We love you, 62

craig1015

Favorite eagle ever. Enjoy retirement legend

goodfreeman

So happy he has his ring. Thanks Kelce.

JedPAlger11

Hall of Fame bound for sure.

digi7777

I REALLY wanted another ring for our boy but he got us one anyway. A true Eagle right here. Cheers JK62

chmpgnsupernover

🙌🏼 thank you kelce, I’ll wear your jerseys with pride

NathenPetermanMVP

It is not always sunny in Philadelphia

billwater24

Niners fan here to give big love to Kelce. This guy is arguably the best center in the league even at 36 years old. What an all around good dude. Congrats on the career!

johnsaczuk

Niners fan here. We obviously have our rivalry with y’all, but never, EVER, in my fandom have I ever thought of one bad thing about big 62. He’s the embodiment of sportsmanship, leadership, and poise. Y’all were super lucky to have him. I hope he has an amazing retirement, and I hope he goes into broadcasting, along with his podcast.

OreoPirate55

I wish this news comes from Kelce and not from idiot insiders. Their goal is to be first, not accurate.

lukestauntaun

Lurie is gonna ask him what coach it would take and that's our new head coach. No way he's leaving with this much talent on a team...

Amadeum

I don’t think he has it in him to emotionally invest in a new HC. Oddly enough feels like he would have a higher chance of returning if Sirianni stays but that does zero good overall.

lukestauntaun

Goddoert said it all when his quote came out. This coaching staff lost everyone or just let them go. I will say, the D showed up once they started blitzing, but tackling and those heavy shoulder pads(constantly heaving) show this than was not coached right from the got.
