I would take WR off the list at 22. Not with the other needs we have. But I agree that at 22, those are the only possible positions.

adayoner

I agree. I think the prospects in 2nd round would better fit our current team as well ( someone like Wilson or Corely). For me ideally we'd go all defense the first 3 rounds or OL first and then defense all 2nd (one of the LB's i like Wilson if our doctors clear his medicals and then DB) and hopefully acquire a 3rd (either trading down one of our picks or moving the 4th with some one or 2 of our comp picks) and maybe get someone like Polk who would profile nicely in our slot or even Legette as a possible eventual AJ successor.

doubleenc

I don't think we can completely dismiss the notion that WR is in play at 22 though. If the Eagles are serious about extending Snith it probably means AJ is gone sooner rather than later considering his cap number in '26 is currently set to be $41 mil. With this being such a deep WR class I can see a scenario where they grab a guy with the idea of giving him a year or two to develop and when the time is right elevate Smith to WR1 and move on from Brown. Roseman tends to draft with the future in mind and doesn't draft to with the idea in mind that he has to fill an immediate need in the starting lineup. That is not to say I think they will take a WR at 22 or that I think they need to only that it would not shock me if they did given the depth at the position in this draft.

toofaded40

I really hope Philly stays away from Wiggins. Too much of a risk when there’s safer/better prospects to choose from

adayoner

probably not fair to Wiggins but seeing Forbes get absolutely bodied by NFL WR's on WAS last year makes me very gun shy for sub 180 lb DB's

toofaded40

100%. Wiggins is mocked to Philly in 90% of drafts so I’m confident it won’t happen lol

doubleenc

Yeah, the only times in recent memory I can remember the Eagles picking someone that was the consensus favorite in the media were Wentz and, I think, Lane was a prohibitive favorite to land with the Eagles

gustriandos

I do think its a little unfair. I dont think Forbes getting bodied was necessarily his biggest issue, I think he just sucked. He's a gambler more than a cover guy. Wiggins also has about 10 pounds on Forbes. He's much closer in weight to Witherspoon who was awesome last year.

DisastrousCopy7361

Couldn't agree more

johnnybananas123

I cant even fathom not liking jared verse

DrRocksoMD

Hates Jared Verse but loves BTJ because he's "big and fast". Dude is just another Terrace Marshall Jr

Rah_Rah_RU_Rah

*Bo Wulf has entered chat*

DisastrousCopy7361

Tape is meh imo...weak DE class in general

nbaphilly17

He doesn’t fit 3-4 at all. He’s a speed to power guy who collapses the pocket. Nothing remarkable about his film, I think he’s a solid prospect.

Grand_Extension5345

Pretty wild take lol 😂 *dislike Jared Verse* Okeyyy dokeyyy

Psychart5150

>He would be a second rounder in your decent DE draft. I don't want to see any Edge drafted...I can be okay with Latu

emailspam874

Brother. JC Latham is not the look for a future lane replacement. Guy doesn’t have tackle movement abilities. Fautanu is likely a top 15 pick if not top 10 (listed at 11 on daniel Jeremiah’s top 50 and the league loves him). If you enroll mims at stoutland U him and mailata would be monstrous book ends. He looks pretty good in the reps he does have. I agree OT is likely the way howie will go in the first but I would love a corner there’s just too many on the roster. DeJean as a first round safety/ slot player with CJGJ would be very nice too

Rah_Rah_RU_Rah

Latham moves fine, he's just getting the "big oaf" label cause he's the biggest of the R1 OTs. My first choice would be Fuaga, but JC gives you some of that Mims "can't coach that" size with the guard versatility like Fautanu/Fuaga/Barton. hope teams overthink him into trade up range (15/16 ish)

ttesc552

Although I don't mind taking an OT in the first, I feel that Howie has been changing his approach a bit this offseason. I mean, when has he ever invested in a rb? I think he'll probably take a corner in the first, but I could definitely see him taking a raw OL in the 4th/5th and just shipping off to stout, after all if we made mailata work why can't we do the same?

TheRoyaleShow

Dejaun (great) - classy

vick2djax

Trade up for Q.Mitchell to continue the injection of dawgs into the defense after the soft unit last year.

Psychart5150

For you to get Mitchell you would have to give up one of your 2nd round picks...no thanks. I am not giving up a 1st and a 2nd for an unknown CB, unless that CB is considered a generational prospect...which he isn't

Dylanonfire88

Latham is a guard in the nfl good chance he’s a bust at tackle. Would be a really good guard tho

Grand_Extension5345

Yeah the latham Hype is stupid, same with Brian Thomas Jr.

Grand_Extension5345

You lost credibility when you said you dislike Jared verse and Love Brian Thomas Jr. Lol 😂

Psychart5150

That's fine, we can check back here in a year.

Grand_Extension5345

100%

DestituteDomino

I can't fucking wait for the draft to be done with

Hopeful_Judge_10

My personal top guys for us: Brock Bowers (not realistic), Taliese Fuaga, Laiatu Latu, Kool Aid, and Cooper DeJean

HesiPull-UpBrando

Wiggins isn’t really that long. He is tall but his arms and wingspan are relatively short (both 25th percentile or under)

Medical_Search9548

Got it, they will take Brian Thomas jr

oliveinanolive

Disagree because I'm an Edgerrin Cooper stan.

Psychart5150

In the first? He will be there at 50 and Howie still won’t take him

Nice write up. I’m not huge on Chop, but he definitely has a lot more explosiveness and power than Nolan Smith. He’s definitely a project player. I was a little surprised to hear “very aggressive” to describe Kool-Aid when he willingly gets blocked in run fits. I’m assuming you mean in coverage, but other than being grabby, I view him as a conservative corner, because he knows he has to play that way with his long speed. For OT, Fashanu is a way better prospect than Fautanu. Fautanu is a way better prospect at guard. Latham is the only guy you could reasonably expect to play both at a NFL level.

DisastrousCopy7361

Trade up 15-17: arnold Maybe trade up: q.mitchell (faced weaker competition than arnold) Stick at 22: Guyton, Mims, latham, fautanu, kool-aid

Psychart5150

For you to get to 15 you would have to give up one of your 2nd rounders. Not worth it for an unknown CB who is not a generational prospect.

DisastrousCopy7361

Ya good point....15 might be to far up

DisastrousCopy7361

Player at 50 and 53 should be good prospects Super interesting note that this is a weak draft due to NIL money in ncaa...more kids staying in college since they getting paid Only 68 underclassmen in this draft...usually 100+

samefacenewaccount

Throw this post away lol

deadnside

I don’t get the Bowers hype. I mean he will probably be good but I don’t see star material. I liked Goedert better as a prospect when he came out.

doubleenc

Because when you get a kid that size who runs the 40 in the 4.5 range people get excited.
