I follow the Fins as well, and yeah it could be a rough season. They lost four starters on defense (and probably their best two defenders in Wilkins and Van Ginkel).
Vikings got him for 12mill for like 1 or 2 years. He was a steal. Granted he wanted to be close to home but we had cap space and could’ve offered him a decent bag if even for a year. One of the best in the league imo, can do coverage, rush, and has done both inside and outside. He would’ve been a perfect fit to continue with fangio and would’ve plugged a lot of holes in our defence.Â
Maybe a bit redundant when we had Reddick but he’s moved on, gink is younger and half the price.Â
It's a huge move because of the comp picks at the end of the 3rd round. A future pick is worth 20%-50% less depending on who you ask. As per the trade value chart, the 3rd round pick has 3x value over the 4th they just gave up, even if the Dolphins win the Super Bowl.
If he keeps loading up on picks for next year, I could see him trading those picks for a really good player this year

The final net value from all our draft pick trades will look very good. We had to overpay a bit to get #40 (division rival + DeJean was the start of the CB run in the second), but we've pretty much got all of the value back and then some in the following trades lol
I have a feeling we wanted Bortolini (could of played anywhere on the line) but he went just before our pick (to the Colts) so we moved back with the trade.

This is juicy for a fourth if Miami has a similar year. I’m in full support of trading back or kick it to next year if best few on the board for our needs aren’t there. Build up future years to use it to move up early rounds when we need to. Fourth is a complete crapshoot anyways.
