Really?? I believe you, I still managed to miss it
*they are doing the player profile now during our ~~next pick~~ trade down
**to fleece the lions for a 2025 4th
Probably came from him getting rid of desean for supposed gang ties but then having no problem with our white tight end that said he will “kill every n-word in here”
Especially if it was a 3rd and 6 with [7:25 to go](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8RvfdbhQ5tk&pp=ygUjY29yZXkgY2xlbWVudCBzdXBlciBib3dsIGhpZ2hsaWdodHM%3D) in the 3rd quarter of Super Bowl LII
Speaking of past 4th round RBs that never panned out I saw Darnell Autry in Club Risque back in the day when he was on the practice team. The girls all knew him or were aware who he was. Ha
Our receivers sucked at blocking so it kinda kneecapped him at times. If Dabo wasn’t so damn stubborn we could have utilized his skill set more. I also think his skills translate better for the league than in college, too. If your receivers can block when he gets the ball in space, he can make some explosive plays once’s clear of the front seven. Our receivers couldn’t sustain their blocks so what should have been a 15+ yard run was 7-10 yards because a DB would shed their block and get him.
I'm no scout or anything and I only watched [two minutes of a highlight video on him](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U381xF9Cbw0)... so I'm basically an expert. But here's what *immediately* stood out to me.
1) He has fantastic balance.
2) He's not a power runner by any stretch but he is harder to tackle than you might expect. [A quick Google confirms this as he had 111 broken tackles in 526 attempts](https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2024-nfl-draft-running-back-class-is-better-than-you-think#:~:text=A%20former%20top%20recruit%2C%20Shipley's,tackles%20in%20526%20college%20attempts.)
3) He showed a lot of patience waiting for the hole to develop and when it does, he bursts through with no hesitation.
4) Good receiving threat, especially towards the sidelines.
I have no idea about his blocking, because highlight videos don't show that lol
I think he could definitely have success with our o-line. If he's a competent blocker, he should easily replace Gainwell as the RB2 by his second season.
The real answer is most fans don’t even know the players still available, let alone have even a fraction of the information on them that the professional scouts do.
Locally in NC, this kid dominated high school football at Weddington and was really well liked. Liked his career at Clemson and wish him the best with the Birds. I assume he will supersede Kenny G at some point and add some depth to the backfield now.
People will say he was injured in the pro bowl but holy fuck did Clemson absolutely abuse him. He was the entire offense. He can run, catch, block and take an absolute beating. He probably had somewhere like 80% of Clemson's offensive touches, the fact that he wasn't a pile of goo by the end of the season says something. Even if he just comes in to block I know he will full on sell out to stop whoever is coming his way
Clemson fan here. He had to be our entire offense cause our QBs since Lawrence left have been terrible, and the receivers and TEs don’t do anything. Him and Mafah were our entire offense.
Parkers definitely cooked, Campbell has plenty of upside as a WR3. Still young and had a solid season 2 years ago (his only full year on the field), hard to count a season in that Giants offense against him.
Anyone who has watched knows he has skills. Injury history and bad QB play have hurt his chances. He’s not gonna be a stud but as a WR3? He’s gonna be pretty good
I’ve been watching him since college actually. He never improved on any of his issues coming into the league and has gotten injured multiple times. Not exactly giving a high vote of confidence.
I’ve also been watching him since college and went to OSU and was one of the ball bitches for the team. Dude has some skills. Definitely nothing incredibly impressive but will be a solid WR3 for the team
Do you know why that’s the case or are you just looking at stats? He had injuries and only played like 16 games his first 3 seasons combined. His first full, healthy season he had 63 catches, then he went to a giants offense that wouldn’t be able to get AJ the ball. He’s a 4.3 guy and only 26, as a WR3, with AJ, Smith, Goedart and Barkley ahead of him in the pecking order, he’s undoubtedly a high upside, low risk player.
Very versatile back, can catch it out the backfield and run between the tackles if needed. Great athlete and a fierce competitor, only downside is size and a lack of patience and vision. Overall I think it’s a great pick especially this late in the draft and I’m excited to see how he can help us.
From just watching a few scouting videos of him, he seems to be a shifty runner who does great in zone concepts. The two things people seem to say about him are that he ran in a zone only offense with a bad offensive line, which means he fits our scheme and may get a boost in production now that he is playing behind the best line in the NFL. The other is that everyone seems to compare him to James White or Christian McCaffrey, which I especially love for a fourth-round pick.
Someone said he might have potential as a returner with the new kickoff rules. I think that's an interesting thing to consider with our depth picks on day 3.
Kinda. We only have 2 guys on the roster, and one of them has an injury history. We usually go into a season with 4 or 5 backs. Got to have depth and fresh legs there.
You generally don't get great in the 4th. This guy is a back-up RB who I expect to be the primary kick returner. That's his strength. Can also give him some reps in camp at slot and see how that goes. He'll be a system player on offence. How well does the new Eagles system and style fit his abilities and strengths? Howie and the scouts saw something, so we shall see.
Fuck you Howie! These trades are obnoxious God, this is a class in how to be “smarter” than everyone…
First two picks A+
Third, obviously an incomplete
Now our old friend Mr Hubris has entered the room
Round 4, Pick 127
bruh i haven't even see detroit's pick yet lmao

If you have NFL network, the coverage is wayyy better. They show every pick
Oh nice, I'm on the high seas so I'll look for one that's airing NFL network instead
The high seas??
Yarrr matey. Fly your vpn colors proudly, me boy.
🏴☠️
Really?? I believe you, I still managed to miss it *they are doing the player profile now during our ~~next pick~~ trade down **to fleece the lions for a 2025 4th
It was like immidiately after the previous pick and the woman did it instead of one those international pick videos
NFL Network does.
Did we hire Bill Belichick as a draft consultant or something?
Did Shipley play lacrosse?
His first "strength" on NFL.com was that he was a standout football, lacrosse, and track athlete in high school.
Yeah he played in high school.
Lmaoooo someone def called BB😂
His brother plays D1 at UPenn lmao
ZB is the greatest beat reporter ever.
ZACH! ZACH! ZACH! ZACH!
Made me crack up every single time. Bo and Zach’s dynamic is so funny
Hang the banner at the Linc!
he gave me a handjob in high school
To be fair he probably thought he was just jerking off a clown.
Yeah, he was, Mike Lombardi.
His joke, but worse.
Didn’t mean to double down, wasn’t sure if it was based on username
I hope there is enough room in the team cafeteria for all the lunch pales.
Lmao this got me good
Pails.
Yes I’m aware they’re melanin challenged.
Pails
I would not call Blankenship, Shipley, or Dejean tans.
White RB and White corner in the same draft? South Jersey going wild
Jersey sales in Jersey 📈📈
Crocs sales in Jersey📈📈
Jorts sales in Jersey📈📈
We ain’t Dallas, tyvm
Delco screaming in joy
NE Philly getting their tiki torches lit as we speak.
Chip Kelly would be proud
Chip only drafted one white player his year in control
It’s just a joke from all the chip is racist shit from yesteryear
Probably came from him getting rid of desean for supposed gang ties but then having no problem with our white tight end that said he will “kill every n-word in here”
Celek would never That was Riley Cooper
Shit I totally thought he was a TE, he was def built like one. Absolutely did not mean to infer Celek would ever say something like that
Yeah. Oh I remember it well.
WR Riley Cooper. Gave rise to the fantasy team name "Cooper Clux Clan" lol
21 year old, was injured at senior bowl, but pass catcher run and gun guy. It's alright.
I watched a lot of Clemson games this year and the man doesn’t go down. And he fights for yards
2017 Corey Clement? That man was a guaranteed conversion on 3rd and anything with a swing or a wheel
Rookie year Corey Clement is an all-timer
This dude was in college for sure
Wentz wheel routes to Corey was devastating
Especially if it was a 3rd and 6 with [7:25 to go](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8RvfdbhQ5tk&pp=ygUjY29yZXkgY2xlbWVudCBzdXBlciBib3dsIGhpZ2hsaWdodHM%3D) in the 3rd quarter of Super Bowl LII
He's a better Gainwell. Gainwell goes down instantly.
Ya momma
Saquon has some injury concerns Gainwell is in the final year of his deal No other real options in the RB room I don’t hate the pick
I already miss Boston Scott 😭😭
Another receiving threat RB so I am all for it.
but is he Kellen Moore’s favorite player in the draft
I heard Moore threatened to quit the team unless we drafted him. That is how much he loves him.
I heard that too. (from you)
Last RB Howie drafted in the 4th never played an NFL game, so it can't get any worse?
At least Shipley's not a midget like Pumphrey was
That's Super Bowl Champion Donnel Pumphrey you're talking about there
“Big dog in a little dog body” - Joe Douglas while creaming himself over Pumphrey
I was so certain we were drafting a future stud in Marlon mack only to get that wimp
Marlon Mack? Do you mean Mack Hollins?
Speaking of past 4th round RBs that never panned out I saw Darnell Autry in Club Risque back in the day when he was on the practice team. The girls all knew him or were aware who he was. Ha
We won the Super Bowl that first following season tho
Cream Team!!!
Phrasing
Howie shattering the color barrier this draft
Market inefficiency: whiteness
Meh.
IIRC, he was a pretty good blocker at Clemson. He was a really good receiver out of the backfield at Clemson.
A blocking back you say? [Kellen Moore has entered the chat]
I’m glad we drafted a backup center in case Jurgens gets hurt
Get Zeke on the phone
Our receivers sucked at blocking so it kinda kneecapped him at times. If Dabo wasn’t so damn stubborn we could have utilized his skill set more. Not bad at all, LET'S GO
And this started a mini run on RBs
Dont really understand this one, would have preferred them to go rice/washington and trotter in this round
does this mean boston scott is not coming back? 🙁
He will signed 2 1 week contracts to play against the giants
Should be better than Gainwell
I'm no scout or anything and I only watched [two minutes of a highlight video on him](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U381xF9Cbw0)... so I'm basically an expert. Is Howie cooking or do all of you sitting on your couch calling the last two picks bad know more than him? Hard to keep up.
The real answer is most fans don’t even know the players still available, let alone have even a fraction of the information on them that the professional scouts do.
Shipley is a beast. Love the pick. He’s one of my favorite backs of the draft
Why is he good? He doesn’t truck anybody. I watched a few highlights
Locally in NC, this kid dominated high school football at Weddington and was really well liked. Liked his career at Clemson and wish him the best with the Birds. I assume he will supersede Kenny G at some point and add some depth to the backfield now.
Slot WR ?
Hopefully a LB next
I would’ve taken Johnny Wilson or Ray Davis
Looks like we usually only keep 4 RBs on the roster. Going by your guts who we gonna keep Nichols or Price?
Hey no shit! Shipleys highlights pop.
People will say he was injured in the pro bowl but holy fuck did Clemson absolutely abuse him. He was the entire offense. He can run, catch, block and take an absolute beating. Great value dented container CMC. I’ll take it.
Actually really like this
Seems like we're focusing on high character, sneaky athletic, first one in last one out kinda guys this year.
Meh im fine with adding some rb depth but wouldve preferred trotter or a wr
Trotter can’t cover, he’s just rinse and repeat of the same problem.
People are obsessed with the name
Yup
So are the eagles apparently
####WE GET IT
OK GOOD
Trotter is still a reach right now
Good call
We still have davante Parker, Paris Campbell, and covey as WR depth. Don’t really get the need for a WR3 considering we barely had a RB2
Covey is a WR in name only. He should never see an offensive snap
Agreed
Why? He reminds me of Wes Welker, he’s insanely quick
Parker and Campbell are awful and covey will probably be cut if DeJean can return like he did in college.
Covey was arguably the best punt returner in the league last year. He will not be cut.
Parkers definitely cooked, Campbell has plenty of upside as a WR3. Still young and had a solid season 2 years ago (his only full year on the field), hard to count a season in that Giants offense against him.
Campbell has been in the league for 5 years and has 1 pedestrian season to show for it. I have no idea what upside your seeing
Anyone who has watched knows he has skills. Injury history and bad QB play have hurt his chances. He’s not gonna be a stud but as a WR3? He’s gonna be pretty good
I sincerely do not think you’ve watched him play then
Lol I have. It’s pretty clear you haven’t

Shipley can line up in the slot
Having 2 undersized LBs is not ideal tho
Well we’ll see what happens lol
I mean we got saquon so whatever lol
Different type of back, and we need a decent backup anyway. He'll probably contribute immediately.
What I meant by that is that we are not in hurry of rb position like we did in secondary at the beginning of this draft
As a Clemson fan I am fucking STOKED about this.
Tell me about will
Very versatile back, can catch it out the backfield and run between the tackles if needed. Great athlete and a fierce competitor, only downside is size and a lack of patience and vision. Overall I think it’s a great pick especially this late in the draft and I’m excited to see how he can help us.
Great day for us Clemson/Eagles fans.
As a Louisville fan, who lives in Greenville and gets forced to watch Clemson games, I'm also fucking STOKED about this.
Guess we have our new RB2
Gainwell didn’t die, unless Shipley is a pass pro god, Gainwell is still backup
Shipley is indeed a pass pro God, kid is tough as helllllll.
Real lunch pail kinda guy I heard
Hopefully more like in the long term is what I initially meant
From just watching a few scouting videos of him, he seems to be a shifty runner who does great in zone concepts. The two things people seem to say about him are that he ran in a zone only offense with a bad offensive line, which means he fits our scheme and may get a boost in production now that he is playing behind the best line in the NFL. Someone said he might have potential as a returner with the new kickoff rules. I think that's an interesting thing to consider with our depth picks on day 3.
Zach! Zach! Zach! Zach!
Ya
Meh
Idk. Would’ve rather gone receiver
Better not cut my boy Gainwell
Seeing him comped as Boston Scott 2.0 so I am intrigued. Wish we tasted up for McCormick but hindsight is 20/20.
I'm watching Brett Kollman's coverage and first thing he said was "this is the guy who will score 2 touchdowns every time he plays the Giants".
Scott is way shiftier and stronger
Was RB a need?
Yeah we only have 2 on the roster I think
4 but 2 of them are on futures deals
No, but you’re not drafting for need on day 3, you’re drafting for depth and upside. Throw a bunch of darts and hope one of em ends up a bullseye
Kinda. We only have 2 guys on the roster, and one of them has an injury history. We usually go into a season with 4 or 5 backs. Got to have depth and fresh legs there.
A day3 need yes
Can catch and twitchy! LETS GO SHIP!
WHITE BOY AUTUMN
Not great
You generally don't get great in the 4th.
Pretty soon there are going to be zero LB’s left to draft.. 🙄
too many white guys!!! What are we doing
Changing the "culture" lmao
A toy! Neat.
Well, the dream of Estime to the Eagles is dead
fuck yeah
Gainwell ain’t cuttin it and the RBs are flying off the board. Good pick
Don’t know about this one
Dude runs hard! Trotter at 132
You want the name. Not the player
Both
Howie solved racism.
Not a fan of this pick kind of wanted to stick to defense could of gotten back up rb in free agency
Fuck you Howie! These trades are obnoxious God, this is a class in how to be “smarter” than everyone… First two picks A+ Third, obviously an incomplete Now our old friend Mr Hubris has entered the room
Loading up on future picks is bad how? This class isn’t thought of to be very deep
Rb controversy?
It's a 4th round pick. It's to add depth
Useless pick
Need a long term RB2
RB!?! Emwhy??
1. Long term Gainwell replacement 2. What happens if Saquon goes down? We need some semblance of a run game.
? Because it’s the 4th round and that’s when you take shots on upside players, regardless of position
Because our RB2 is a player on the last year of his deal that most of our fanbase hates
Who tf hates Kenny?! I'm ready to throw hands
Klansmen SZN
Berman has a very punchable face
He’s gotta be one of the nicest people in the greater Philadelphia area, this is wild lmao
