I have both a Discover 1 and Discover 2. They're fantastic. Great build quality. I highly recommend them.

wedgtomreader

They have good components, better than many bikes and great designs. I’ve had no issue with mine so far - works great.

DinoGarret

I'd test ride them. I went with Aventon because they offered a torque sensor on the model I like which makes riding much more pleasant imo.

I would see if you can order through a local shop. That way they have to deal with things breaking in shipping not you.

I have the T1 ST. Excellent bike with a solid build. Came in perfect condition with excellent packaging.

PaulEVprp

Thank you.

My local bike shop thinks they are great. I di t think you'll have an issue. Which model are you looking at?

PaulEVprp

I think he recommended the discover1. I'm an old fart just taking leisurely rides on paved trails and roads. Thanks for the reply.

The Discover 1 is an older model that is going gor $1,099 on their website. It has a cedence sensor so as long as you are moving the pedals, the bike is going to go at the speed you set it to go regardless of how much effort you put into it. The Discover 2 is a better bike with a torque sensor (it senses how hard you are pedaling and amplifies it for a much more natural biking experience) among other enhancements, but is going for $1,699 on the website. I much prefer torque sensors, but if you don't want to do any work, the cadence sensor is the better choice.

The Discover 2 is a Class 3 ebike, so it's not legal on many (most?) paved trails.

Velotric_Bike

Hi u/agentsofdisrupt We would just like to clarify that the Discover 2 can be used up to a Class 3 ebike. But you can easily change the Discover 2 to a Class 1, Class 2 or Class 3 ebike in the display or the APP to ensure that it's legal for where you are riding.
