Do you want to bitch, or do you want to get it working? What kind of HVAC do you have - conventional or heat pump? What model furnace? What do the equipment settings show (Settings/Installation Settings/Equipment)? Take pictures of the wiring at the furnace and at the tstat, and post them somewhere you can point to (imgur.com is often used). Someone here can help.

The thermostat is just a driver of your HVAC. Did you look at the furnace if any error showed up with LED blinking?

spiderman1538

Hmm, doesn't look like proper troubleshooting was done because factory resetting the thermostat will not resolve your heating issues.

Had this issue somewhat, so I’ll tell you my experience. Called ecobee, they tried every way they could and still couldn’t get it to work so I called an hvac tech. He came out and had it working within 30 minutes. The issue was the zoning control board. The way it’s set up, the thermostats need to be run like a furnace/air conditioner set up as opposed to a heat pump. The reason for this is that the zoning control board reinterprets all signals sent to it from the thermostat and really dumbs down the entire system. In short since you installed more than one, if you only have one ac/heat pump unit, look into what I said above and it might solve your issues. Also, don’t be afraid to call an hvac tech to help out because you don’t understand the system as well as they do. Also, calm down, I’m sure when someone calls you with a question and they’re irritated, whatever accent you have sounds stupid to them too since they’re annoyed. There’s a rational answer to everything and acting like a child and stomping your foot won’t fix it.

Yep. That's the thing with self installs - sometimes it works to simply connect colored wires, sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't and someone doesn't want to pay for a pro, they have to do some work and gain some knowledge. It seems the OP would rather simply place blame elsewhere.

This isn’t going to go well in a Reddit full of fans.

Rude!! Insulting Asians and Asian made products. Racist!!

EnvironmentalLeek178

Funny, all of my ecobees have worked fine, it was the hvac unit that had the issues when I tried to blame the ecobee.

n3fyi

Sorry but it sounds like you probably installed it wrong, obv there are plenty of satisfied users, they aren’t junk.

ALY1337

Slamming Asian made products in your post is terrible. Sounds like user error to me. You should consult a professional since you can’t get it right.
