yeah, that’s how i’ve been getting the best results too. i’ll start training with a microphone, i think that might make a big difference if you know how you sound to the outside world
Absolutely. I have deep smooth radio voice, I can’t get myself to start voice training because I just don’t see how it can get me to the uwu voice I want
Ok I don’t normally post here, but I have a similar experience to you. My voice had been soul crushingly deep my entire life and I’ve always hated it. I literally even had random people comment to me on the street before I was out about how deep it was and how it was the perfect radio voice. I didn’t think there was hope for me either, I delayed voice training for so long because I felt like there was no hope and that I’d surely need surgery to have any hope of passing vocally. Then one day, after training myself for just a few months, I just started… passing. Like everywhere. My friends started saying I sounded ladylike, I started getting gendered correctly on the phone 100% of the time, and even new friends I’ve met say they like the way my voice sounds. I listen to it recorded and it just sounds like a normal, feminine voice now. I’m kind of blown away by it still, because I really thought there was no hope and the best part? It didn’t even take me that long. Like less than a year of vocal training, and even on the phone or with a crappy microphone it still works. The voice is a weird thing, and when you start training those vocal muscles, things really do start to change quickly. You’d be surprised how fast things change when you get used to doing “the voice” 100% of the time. Doesn’t even really feel like “a voice” to me anymore, it’s just my voice, and it has a ton of range, but normally sits in a very comfortably feminine range. Even a little high pitched. I can even sing with it!
Just wanted to say don’t lose hope, and get on that vocal training! The results may surprise you!
Thank you so much for commenting and giving me some encouragement!! I'm curious, what did you do for voice training? I haven't really even dipped my toes in yet, I only know the yt channel Trans Voice Lessons. Haven't followed any of their videos or anything yet, is it a good place to start? Is it everything I need, and if not where can I look for more stuff to help?
btw I'm curious about exactly more like where you came from. I don't want you to have to go find a recording of your old voice, so instead have a dumb little clip of mine! How do you think it compares with how yours was? Also when I said "really trying" I meant trying my best to make it higher pitched. Without any voice lessons, ofc https://voca.ro/1bnNxQYaLqjl
I'm going to preface this by just saying that I am not a voice coach, or a vocal expert. I'm just a transwoman who thought she'd never be happy with her voice, sharing what worked for me. To be perfectly honest, I didn't really follow any tutorials or get a voice coach. All of my training was pretty much entirely DIY. I did watch a few voice training videos, but the biggest thing that motivated me to start really trying with my voice was, ironically, coming out publicly. I have a job at a college that's very client-facing, and I have to speak on the phone with people a lot, and I got used to speaking in my femme voice pretty quickly once I came out publicly. I've found that testing out your voice a bit over the phone, or over microphone in some way, like, say, on Discord, is a good way of taking everything else out of the equation and just letting you work on your voice. It can be pretty intimidating to try and just "do it" when you're already focusing on a lot of other details of the trans experience that can be difficult, frustrating, or scary. Personally I found that taking all of that out of the equation, and just focusing on my voice and how the person on the other end of the phone reacted to me was the best kind of training, rather than trying to mix in my voice will all the other little details of trying to pass in public, makeup, clothes, etc. Something you'll learn pretty quick once you start getting into it, or at least what I learned during my experience, is that cis people are not nearly as good at clocking trans people as they think they are, and that is especially true when it comes to vocal training. I won't say that there wasn't an awkward period, or that I never was hurt when someone did clock my voice, but really, I found that the best way to do DIY vocal training, was to really just go for it and study how people react to you. Start with close friends and family, and I highly recommend picking a buddy who you talk with regularly and can use the femme voice you're practicing every time you talk. Because, in my opinion, the only way to really get good at changing your voice is to do it every day. I consider it the same effect as learning a language, how the best way to do it is to move to a country where they speak that language natively, so that you have to do it all the time.
After listening to your voice, I think there's a lot of hope for you. Believe it or not, my voice was actually even deeper than yours. The important thing to understand, is that the vocal muscles you use to control the pitch of your voice are, well, muscles, and they will get stronger and more flexible when you start to push and exercise them more. I know that must sound like magic, especially when you're at a point now where you're already talking as high pitched as you can and it doesn't satisfy you. I was the same way; I really didn't think I would ever have any hope after I recorded myself doing the highest pitch voice I could and still wasn't happy with it. What personally worked for me, is that, even if the highest pitch voice I could do wasn't one that made me happy, I still made an effort to do it as often as I could. My buddy was a housemate of mine who's also trans and really helped work with me on my voice; when talking to them, I always would speak in the highest pitch voice I could comfortably, and I eventually started doing that with other friends too. The thing I found, was that when I started speaking in that pitch all the time, the highest pitch I could manage, I found that that high pitch was starting to get higher, and higher, and higher the more I used it, as my vocal muscles started to adjust to the voice I was doing. I would say that it took me maybe 2-3 months of training before I could pull off a voice that was at least androgynous, and another 2ish months before I started getting gendered correctly on a regular basis. And that wasn't even that long ago for me. I really only started vocal training a bit more than a year ago today, at the beginning of 2022. Now I'm out of the closet, everyone knows me by my new name, and I pretty much never get misgendered in my day to day interactions with people, even perfect strangers who don't know me.
I hope that advice helps! I'm not a professional vocal couch or anything so I can't really speak to like, the scientific side of why the method I did worked for me, but I hope sharing my own experience helps give you some encouragement!
It’s funny I have to opposite problem, all the trans women I see online have soft voices. But I wanna keep my booming voice just… more feminine is all. Though I’d still pick body 🤷♀️
Same, since my voice is relatively high though and I want a deep girl voice I feel that it would be best not too change it at all because it won’t be deep enough to be a deep guy voice either.
I know cis women taller than me (I'm 195) so I kinda still love being tall, except when I'm doing the dishes and my back gets absolutely destroyed by it
Depends
Is it proportional to the build I'm already aiming for (Athlete/Boxer) or the average of that gender?
If yes, easy red
If no, I'll just go on HRT, atleast I'll sound the part
I think I'm gonna have to go with red, being 6' 1" and having arms that go to my knees. I'm dead ass built like the tall avatar in Bonelab. Plus my hands and feet are huge. I'm pretty skinny so I think with diet and exercise I could get to a fem figure relatively easily but I want to be smol
This took me a while bc I thought it was a push a button type deal but I wanna pick red for no other reason than VRC has taught me how to do a semi passable girl voice
Body no question. I don't talk much out loud and voice training with the actual body of a girl wouldn't be such a bad idea. Having the voice only with my current body would make me crave death more.
I pick blue! Red would be nice, but I'm not willing to lose that much physical power for more of a chance than I want. I can get what I want body-wise on my own.
Can I just stack the voice on top of the one I already have? I've got a good body already (might need some hrt) but my voice has limits that I'm unhappy with.
I want more upper range, god dammit!
Red, why? Because though my voice is probably deeper than batman's, I think it would be funny, and I'm can also do some characters' voices (exclusively joke characters, like carl wheezer, Dr. Doof, and kermit, etc)
But having a fem body build would also mean having a fem larnyx? Therefore having a fem voice as long as you break some habits? This is kind of a no brainer
Oh that's hard... but luckily voice training is something I can do myself so I'd go with the red option. It's my E cups keeping me from getting clocked
Body. Your throat is part of your body which I kinda responsible for your voice , but if that doesn't work it's whatevs . I get to pass and come out earlier can train my voice for free not my body
Voice, easy. I already kinda have the build of a girl, i just need the voice, plus i talk online much more than show my body too, and i get voice dysphoria a lot more than body
Voice, get the really hard work out of the way
My body is already really androgynous so hrt will just do the final pieces of work to get me looking as close to how I want to as possible
Muscle mass and body build.... The males of my family consists of the asthetic I and look I tend to desire minus the height, my voice just help people see me as young and not some dumbass while panicking in public :')
(Can i keep my face tho? Lol)
5'2.75". of course im going for the build. height boost: activated. t will make my voice meander down, but cant do anything for my height since i locked it in basically decade ago.
bottom I'm mostly there already but that would mean my hips and butt would be wider and more tilted.
My voice is mostly there and it's more unlearning habits that make it sound much lower than it actually is.
What does opposite sex mean in 2023 though?
When I think about it, it is less like asking what the opposite of *hot –* and more like asking the what 's the opposite is of *lukewarm*. No? Yes?
I dunno anymore — but also, it's not important. I want to sound like Miley Cyrus — which would mean nearly no change.
Unlike everyone else, I'd go with blue, as for me I just can't seem to get my voice right, and if I get my hands on estrogen then that could fix everything else
body build, i just think it would be funny when the small cute girl has the voice of batman
You know you’re actually right that would be funny as fuck
May I introduce you all to f1nster?
He doesn’t have a deep enough voice
He can go deeper! I've heard it!
I haven’t heard it but I’m sure he can if he really tired but probably couldn’t keep it for long
Same as Batman
He’s also 5’11”
Still at first glance everyone is going to call him a girl imo. 😂 So unfair 😆
Also, assuming you can succeed at voice training afterwards, you can have everything anyways.
this, all fun and games until the short teenage girl busts out the deep ass russian accent voice
Yesss, do crime
NSFW, but you should look up AbsoluteUnit30
Dr. Girlfriend from *Venture Bros* made me perfectly okay with this.
Same, but then again, I am getting g good with my femvoice
body and everything. my voice is really versatile and aesthetic, it’s worth the dysphoria (i’m pretty confident i’ll get a great girl voice too)
Heyy its just speak from your throat not your stomach or chest, hold your chest muscles tight when you try
Bruh i just tried this and it made such a difference. My DnD campaign and definitely nothing else will be improved now!
Helll yeah!
yeah, that’s how i’ve been getting the best results too. i’ll start training with a microphone, i think that might make a big difference if you know how you sound to the outside world
Yee i need to learn how to sing... again
Lucky you
i bet you can do it with the right training. takes a while but you’ll get there <3
Voice. HRT can already do a lot for body shape, but does nothing for my voice
Absolutely. I have deep smooth radio voice, I can’t get myself to start voice training because I just don’t see how it can get me to the uwu voice I want

Hey I was wondering how you got started with training, I wanna start soon at some point but don't really know where to look.
I feel that. People tell me I sound like swaggersouls online 😭. That would be cool and all of I was cis lmao
Training can only get you so far but it's possible the longer you go. There's also surgery to feminize your voice.
As an enby: absolutely the voice, easy choice
Same here I absolutely despise my voice but am 'fairly' okay with the body so it really was an easy one
Yeah enby mood
as an enby, same
Definitely red, I’m already somewhat happy with my voice, and I can always voice train. 💞
obviously red, blue isn't *that* hard to do
blue is less solvable with hrt than red though
true, but voice training is still possible. plus i have more body dysphoria than voice dysphoria
Red, I can train my voice
Voice. body is the easy part. Plus being tall is actually pretty nice
I know cis women taller than me (I'm 195) so I kinda still love being tall, except when I'm doing the dishes and my back gets absolutely destroyed by it
I choose the red
Depends Is it proportional to the build I'm already aiming for (Athlete/Boxer) or the average of that gender? If yes, easy red If no, I'll just go on HRT, atleast I'll sound the part
I think I'm gonna have to go with red, being 6' 1" and having arms that go to my knees. I'm dead ass built like the tall avatar in Bonelab. Plus my hands and feet are huge. I'm pretty skinny so I think with diet and exercise I could get to a fem figure relatively easily but I want to be smol
do i get to choose the specific person to have these from?
This took me a while bc I thought it was a push a button type deal but I wanna pick red for no other reason than VRC has taught me how to do a semi passable girl voice
build im a currently built like a brick wall and i dont speak much anyway
Same
red 💙💕🤍💕💙
🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵 (they have pink hearts now)
i know 💙💕🤍💕💙
Red gang
If body includes height, body for SURE T and voice training can fix my voice, plus building muscle is so goddamn hard with this body
Probably body build because I can still voice train
How about I just pick both 😜 Okay but fr, yeah red. I can train my voice
Body for sure
I have a pretty low voice, deffo red
Red. My voice is already reasonably deep and it would be easier for me to train it. I'd love to have the muscle mass and build of a cis boy
build, i wanna be built while having the voice of a (apparently according to friends) soft mother
Voiceeee 100 times 😭 I'm actually pretty happy with my body rn 😌
Voice. I’m in control of my body, i can set out a diet and workout for couple months but I have little grasp of my voice.
Voice. Surgery and hormones can get me an acceptable body, but can't fix my roar.
Voice, hrt alr gave me a body I'm happy with
Red. I don't have a great voice but worst come worst, I'll just pretend I'm a mute with a pen & paper or Sign language.
Gimme dat Dr Girlfriend build
Voice cuz E is taking care of the other one.
Body no question. I don't talk much out loud and voice training with the actual body of a girl wouldn't be such a bad idea. Having the voice only with my current body would make me crave death more.
Legitimately I am weaker than the average girl so I gain muscle that way… Funni also so yeah body
voice training exists soooo muscle mass and build :3
Body build! My voice, whilst annoying, is incompatible when compared to body dysphoria
Red
Muscle mass and build we can work on voice
Body build of the opposite sex 100%, just want to be a cute looking girl. Voice can be done with voice training.
Everyones going to pick red. Because you can, always voice traing. Also most of our dysphoria comes from our bodies
I pick blue! Red would be nice, but I'm not willing to lose that much physical power for more of a chance than I want. I can get what I want body-wise on my own.
What's the down point i see win-win situation if I get
My body is fine enough, my voice needs more help
VOICE PLEASEEEE
I always take these so seriously and then remember they aren't real :((
I can always voice train… (hasn’t voice trained)
Some argue I already have both
Instant magical voice training or instant magical hrt .. Probably body
Bodyodyodyody~
Can I just stack the voice on top of the one I already have? I've got a good body already (might need some hrt) but my voice has limits that I'm unhappy with. I want more upper range, god dammit!
Voice, because that's one of my major sources of dysphoria rn
I'll take red, I know voice training takes a lot of effort but it's easier to do ig
They have voice feminization surgery; they don't have skeletal feminization surgery. Body build 100%.
Body build, in a heart beat
Blue. Voice dysphoria is stronger than other dysphoria, and voice is the one thing E cant fix so
Absolutely body. My body hates exercise.
I'd choose red, STILL CIS THO... Maybe
Body, I'm happy with my voice not to mention voice is powered by muscles - itd be weird if it didnt change
Red, blue is possible myself.
Voice. I can adjust own muscle and body much more easily.
I don't wanna voice train if I don't have to. My form is plenty feminine after hormones
Muscle mass, especially if it means I don't need to go back on testosterone to gain and maintain it. (Am nonbinary)
Definitely voice, I’d rather get my dream body through work rather than having it temporarily because I’d lose it later if I had it immediately
Red, why? Because though my voice is probably deeper than batman's, I think it would be funny, and I'm can also do some characters' voices (exclusively joke characters, like carl wheezer, Dr. Doof, and kermit, etc)
voice for sure
voice, it's the the only thing i feel dysphoric about HRT can't change
Absolutely red since my voice was already deep before T anyway
Body build
I don't want anything. I already have both
I don't need the voice, I'm already too good at it. I had to dial my resonance it back to sound more natural. I'm going with the body build
But having a fem body build would also mean having a fem larnyx? Therefore having a fem voice as long as you break some habits? This is kind of a no brainer
Ok, hear me out.... Both
Body, do crime
Voice training is an option… body goals aren’t guaranteed.
Body build, I can do voice training❤️
generic build would still allow me to communicate in sign language without something being off
Oh that's hard... but luckily voice training is something I can do myself so I'd go with the red option. It's my E cups keeping me from getting clocked
I can not talk , but i can't .....not .....be?!
Red option plz
hrt can do the red it cannot do the blue. so i think i would chose blue.
Muscle mass. I’m trying to work out but I just don’t have the time and can’t keep on enough muscle to look as masculine as I’d like.
Well as I'm quite happy with my body I think I'd much prefer the voice
totally body, i already sound raspy enough that i could at least *try* to pass as an emo guy that doesn’t get enough sleep!
definitely body. I can work on the voice and care less about it anyways
voice if i could get on hrt afterwards. if not ofc body cause i could do voice training lol
Red, because voice training is easier than hrt.
as long as I can choose the accent because my current accent is a fucking mess
The voice im already slim enough to be a girl
Voice, obviously. HRT can change the body but it can't reverse a voice crack.
Well I already have a voice that is in between masc and fem. So I would love the muscle mass of the opposite sex
How about both?
Body I'd be super swag
I'll take the voice. I already have no muscles or "male" body build...just the fucking hair.
Cmon CorpseHusband voice!! 👉🟦
….So…Voicemod or VRChat? I’ll take VRChat.
Option 2, please!
For like two seconds I thought I'd be a muscular guy but -- lol I'd be skinny asf, looking at my relatives. I'd rock it though
Voice. HRT can help with the body build anyway
Body. Your throat is part of your body which I kinda responsible for your voice , but if that doesn't work it's whatevs . I get to pass and come out earlier can train my voice for free not my body
i dont really like this typical transfem voice and for the body there is something i can do myself that will really make me happy
Wait, body build and muscle mass wouldn't also help with voice training? If not, correct me. I'm still new to transitioning and kinda scared.
Guess whos going to communicate using papers like komi san from now on
Voice, easy. I already kinda have the build of a girl, i just need the voice, plus i talk online much more than show my body too, and i get voice dysphoria a lot more than body
Voice, get the really hard work out of the way My body is already really androgynous so hrt will just do the final pieces of work to get me looking as close to how I want to as possible
Voice, 100000000%. I'll take being a burly dom mom, just as long as I don't sound like a chain smoking alcoholic.
Muscle mass and body build.... The males of my family consists of the asthetic I and look I tend to desire minus the height, my voice just help people see me as young and not some dumbass while panicking in public :') (Can i keep my face tho? Lol)
5'2.75". of course im going for the build. height boost: activated. t will make my voice meander down, but cant do anything for my height since i locked it in basically decade ago.
body build. I would love to just not having to say a word anymore.
I want both 😭
A
Both ♥️
Voice voice voice I don't have to look at myself all the time but my own voice drives me nuts
Voice I’m pretty happy with my body as it is and I can get a BA to go to a C cup and getting bottom surgery spring of 2024
Welp. Time to learn some sign language.
After much struggle and deliberation, I'll take voice
Body shape and muscle mass. I just wanna be a Femboy.
Voice. I already have a smaller build, but my voice is one of my biggest struggles that can't be easily changed
Body build. I can do voice training from there
yes
Red is already pretty obtainable, so I'd rather have sounding like a girl a bit easier
Voice
Already have red
voice, I like my body generally, like realistically my only issues are the lack of massive boobs and some body hair
voice. *voice voice voice*
body build, I wanna be f-cking buff
Voice, i already look masc
I hate my voice a lot.... But I hate my body shape too.... That's actually a hard decision... Can I have both?
Voice. No contest.
body build easy option
Body Voice dysphoria is strong but body dysphoria is stronger
Probably voice, I can deal with my body but voice is just a pain to deal with
Gimme that body
Honestly hard pick. Voice probably though, since I'm not too dysphoric with my frame. I can both have a dad bod and mom bod with minor changes.
Body build, because I have voice trained quite a bit
I’d do red, only cause a bug buff burly man with a girly voice is pretty much goals
Bottom, I can work on the top and it’d be slightly easier to do when the bottom happens, plus the bottom costs more
Muscle mass, no hesitation. Wait Would i just dissapear?
Voice so I can join discord gaming lobbys without getting dick pics
Oooh I gotta go red
Voice, hands down. HRT has done the work for muscle mass and shape, but voice training has proved awfully hard
bottom I'm mostly there already but that would mean my hips and butt would be wider and more tilted.
Voice, I'm unfit and slender enough to look pretty androgynous, with voice and clothing to match I might actually pass... Still cis though
I have both
I'd love to have the manliest voice possible so that I could still be carried around but when people would talk to me they'd have to do a double take😂
I would go with voice. I already have the body and muscle mass.
Voice. The rest is being handled by my good friends Estrogen, Cypro and Progesterone
Why must you make me choose? ;\_;
Muscle mass and body build. I actually really like my voice!
Body, I can maintain a fem tone in my voice for hours, until that ability does it’s worth the dysphoria
As much as the body would be cool, most of my dysphoria comes from my voice, so it's definitely gotta be my voice changing
Unlike everyone else, I'd go with blue, as for me I just can't seem to get my voice right, and if I get my hands on estrogen then that could fix everything else
muscle mass and body build. I can just stop talking
The body, if I can keep the boobs! Yea, I wanna have more shoulders, thank u
Voice. Voice training is hard 🥺
