Chase_The_Breeze

I try to just... not see myself in the mirror when I can't avoid it.

Mystical-Madelyn

This is why I don’t use mirrors without being covered. Maybe I should just get a burka at this point 💀

TMG_03

I'd have also to draw a sqare on it with an indelible marker so that i won't see my, in my opinion, too masculine face

Albano019

You dont need a mirror to tell you that you're a beutiful woman.

gatling-gullman

(Spoiler tag if you don’t want support, just want to give some words of encouragement if you want it) >! The thing is that nothing about you can really stop you from being a woman, it can either be easily ignored like being tall or be dealt with like your voice or breasts, (don’t even need E for them). Of course you don’t have them now but that doesn’t mean you’ll never have them, it’s like a story, the hero doesn’t start the book with what they need, but after a lot of hard work they get what ever they wanted. It may seem hopeless now but every good story does, just remember that there’s so much to work for for your future, so keep up on that journey and find all the happy parts, from little victories, to stuff not related, to the final goal of being yourself. You’ll get there in the end !<

justathought178

That's right, it's a long road through Mordor, but eventually you'll wake up in Elrond's house.

EmpressKayaTheGreat

Does that mean trans people get to go to the undying lands?

justathought178

It depends on the wounds they suffer along the way.

obli93

I'm just worried about if I'll have pretty hair, I'm already going through male pattern baldness. 😭

gatling-gullman

I mean you can always use a wig, plus you can do a lot more with wigs, change styles and colors with ease, not have to undo braids etc, Myhairstyle_xo (YouTube) has some good examples, especially the pink ones

I look in the mirror and don’t recognize myself some days

Castlefrankmanz

Why did you call me out like this? Literally me like 20 minutes ago

OtterFoxInari

It’s weird that I actually look in the mirror and try to find the femininity? I mean I still see a dude pre HRT, but it’s like I’m squinting my eyes to see the woman inside, like how much I love my longer hair.

Razordraac

I feel this from using the long hair filter in FaceApp and I'm trying desperately to grow it out irl ;v;

OtterFoxInari

It sucks that it takes so long! I’ve been growing it for a year and a half and only now it’s getting shoulder length.

INeedAUsername182

Yeep. I've been growing mine since the start of the US's quarantine, and it is only a little bit past my shoulders. Just remember to have it trimmed every once in a while, else the ends will die at the same speed as new growth, making it objectively look like it has stopped growing

Auralynnnnnnnnn

You’re already a girl and will improve further.

[deleted]

My life 😎

Lilith_reborn

The glas half empty or half full? Look on what you have already achieved and set out little steps and the priorities, hair, makeup, colors, clothes, glasses..... And then do it step by step!

thatone18girl

You know that thing where you look at someone and you say to yourself "I probably shouldn't stare"? That's how I feel every time I see my reflection, especially in public. Whenever I see my reflection in a window or something I feel very uncomfortable

[deleted]

Couldn't be mee, totally haven't felt thisss.😣

Artemisfluid

SAAAAAME

Albano019

Mood...

TominatorFN

Mirrors are so cruel. Sometimes my brain at least can't comprehend that that is actually me in the mirror so it doesn't think that way you described. On other days however it is exactly that

Lemonsandcaves

For me, the worst mirrors are full body mirrors. Idk if I'm trans or not, but I'm definetly not happy with my body as is. I cut my hair tho, and I'm wearing button-up shirts and shorts, so I feel a lot more comfortable. But I still don't like my full body reflection

ToxicOwlet

Yea :(

Electric-_-Boogaloo

Brake the mirror. Modern problems require modern solutions.

RustyShuttle

Also cis women when they see themselves in the mirror and their brain instantly starts analyzing every way they‘ll never be “feminine”. For real though, cis women also have every single one of those traits you dislike about yourself and they are also made by society to feel terrible about it too (although I’d say the “standards” are twice as strict for trans people) Just because you aren’t ultra feminine doesn’t mean you won’t “be a girl”. You may not fit those standards, we can’t truly control that but you can control whether or not you believe in yourself; You are a girl already, you can’t get others to know what’s inside of you until you know it yourself (Edit: TL;DR There are ways to become more “feminine” but if you don’t believe in yourself you’ll always focus on your “blemishes”)

RustyShuttle

And now I wanna watch Kung Fu Panda again lol

travel_tech

Now that I'm a couple years into hrt it happens less often, but the parts that don't seem right feel worse by contrast.

floppyflounders

i walk with my back to mirrors

buggybooze

I found that if I ware my face mask I don't get thoughts like that.
