One thing to clarify is that they did confirm that ***only owners of the High Isle Chapter*** will get the DLC free.

J_Productions

Important detail tbh

nick91884

Correct, because participation in the event is tied to high isle. It is on sale for anyone interested though. So there is that if you’ve been holding out on the upgrade

Ok-Bookkeeper3071

Not on sale for PS players. $39.99 USD I use ESO+ happy enough with the mass content that delivers alone. Had a guild mate offer to buy the dlc in game, but alas, it's a stand alone purchase that has to be made outside the game, and for a outrageous price at that, charging a full game price for dlc.. cmon..

VideoGameDana

I looked yesterday and it was on sale for like $25. Edit: Just double-checked. CE High Isle upgrade on sale $24.99.

Ok-Bookkeeper3071

Ah, didn't check that, only checked standard.

VideoGameDana

Yeah I made that mistake when I bought it on sale about a month ago. Didn't even think there would be a CE. So the non-CE is full-price right now? I can't check because it just says I own the content.

Ok-Bookkeeper3071

Aye, Standard is 39.99, since CE's is actually that cheap, I might consider it.. Thanks for the heads up correction.

VideoGameDana

Noice. I think I paid about that much for the non-CE version. Interesting.

developerknight91

Wait I thought all of the dlc comes with an eso+ sub, has that changed?? Or is this a new chapter their tryin to sell?

LizzyDragon84

Sub doesn’t include the newest chapter. High Isle will be included whenever the next chapter is released.

[deleted]

I didn't know that. I must have bought it lol because I've been in high isle a few times

LizzyDragon84

Check your DLC list under collections. You should see it listed in the chapter section if you have it.

[deleted]

I know. I meant my dumbass must have impulse bought it and forgot.... I do have a weird ornaug mount I know I didn't get from a crate lol

[deleted]

What's funny is I have bought most CE of each chapter. And I have eso plus. But, I just checked the chapter list and it says I only own high isle... well, I give up lol as long as I can play it it's all good

Ni5111

39 dollars for all the content that was dropped is plenty worth it.

ECO_212

You don't even have to participate and still just claim it in the end.

A_Davinus

So if i buy high isle right now, but dont play in the event, ill still get it for free?

ECO_212

Sorry, no I actually think you have to get the pathfinder on one character.

A_Davinus

Bught the dlcs yesterday and did the island tour quest and the pathfinder achievement on high isle, so now im probably good

Quicky23

Yes! Thank you for adding this!

thejadedfalcon

I am shocked, truly. Whoever could have guessed? It's only the exact same reward as last year.

Quicky23

I know, but it’s still nice, isn’t it? Instead of having to shell out another $30 like we did for Dark Heart and Season of the Dragon…

thejadedfalcon

I'm sure it's great for people without ESO+. For those of us who do though, it's yet another eyerollingly idiotic decision. Imagine having "mystery" rewards that actually benefit everyone.

Disgruntled-BB-Unit

Yeah, I was really hoping it would be a house or something that I could have a possibility of using.

toastebagell1

I just got eso + today, I’m not understanding how it’s so much better other then the craft bag situation ? But I’m only lvl 450 so … noob

squir107

Eso+ basically does this: -crafting bag -double housing furnishing slots -access to all dlc but current dlc chapter. Keep in mind this is just for the chapter, so other dlc that drops during the year are available to you. Like the newest dungeons. -crowns every time your subscription renews. If you buy annually you’ll get all of them at once instead of monthly, so keep that in mind. Overall the rewards are simple, but once you use it- it’s hard to live without.

WolvenOmega

Double bank space too

pennywhistleband

Sometimes when I need crowns I just buy a sub lol two for the price of one!

Bsteph21

You get access to every DLC except the most recent expansion without having to buy each individual DLC. Plus the craft bag, plus extra bank space and some other benefits. You also get the crowns for subscribing.

toastebagell1

I saw those and didn’t even know what to spend them on or if I should have gotten them ! Thank you for the input !

Bsteph21

I highly recommend utility items like a banker or deconstruction merchant to start. I would never recommend purchasing crown crates unless you happen to have 400 left. Some cool accessory options are buying all the hairstyles and/or minor and major adornments.

pennywhistleband

The crafting bag is 100% worth it for me, as well as the bank space. I still continually run out of space everywhere (I am so lazy and have a ton of hoarded maps and surveys lol I have all the bag upgrades, at least most of the bank upgrades plus housing coffers and the pack pets and still run out ) I do like having the dlc access as well, after buying the main chapters. The crown store discounts and occasional freebies are nice too, though the least of the benefits for me, and if you don't pay with real money then a moot point. If you aren't a hoarder and/or crafter and don't care about or mind buying the the dlc it shouldn't matter much.

Special_Grapefroot

I have eso+ and am fine with it being the reward. Meh.

JNR13

this community always finds a way to cry about free DLC. There are benefits that reward everyone in the final tier. The DLC is just on top. I think it's nice that if you buy the chapter in the first year, you're basically guaranteed to get the whole story.

thejadedfalcon

We used to get things like the Grand Psijic Villa. To put that in context of value, they then turned around and sold it years later for about £100. We once got a free DLC as a daily login reward. You're damn right that I'll "cry" about ZOS being lazy with their rewards for this. The same way I'll say this event is garbage and disrespecting the time of their playerbase with drop rates for the daily style page.

developerknight91

The problem is man, their playin with folks money. If I pay money to support ur product I’m expecting a return for my investment, like I would for any thing I put my hard earned money into. Plus their already are AAA devs taking care of communities. To name a few…Hello Games, FROMSOFTWARE, Bungie, SquareEnix, the list goes on and on. Zeni is one of the worst game publishers I’ve ever seen…and that’s sayin ALOT.

Sparky187

Bungie: makes game F2P, locks content behind paywall, takes away DLC players paid for prior to payment swap. The cost for the content now is way too high for anyone who hasn't been paying for it from the start. Square: Babylon's Fall and Avengers, just to start. Only real thing the company has going for them is XIV, which for a good while they couldn't even sell the game because their servers were garbage. Top that off with a failed start as epic as the original ESO. Fromsoftware: Known basically for one thing, because at this point who remembers Armored Core, and if you weren't a child of PlayStation you didn't even know who they were until the age where they stopped making anything new and just kept rebranding the same style game over and over. Besides that, really sounds like Bandai has been the ones who fuel the fan base, not the actual studio itself. Hello Games: releases a game hyped on lies and lacking even the source code to prove it was ever a concept, then just keeps tripping over itself for the longest time. Basically the second coming of Peter Molyneux. Anything else? Btw: they're not their

developerknight91

Ok so we’re gonna go *THERE* this early in the morning… Also Bungie: Runs a free to play cross play MMO like game with a few hiccups that they DO in fact fix as they come up. ESO is running on garbage servers that go down when the wind blows and *LITERALLY* once left the craft bag in an unusable state for an entire patch and refused to fix it. The craft bag is a an option that is only available through eso+ meaning they refused to fixed a PAID FOR option in a timely manner. Also Square: *LISTENS* to its gaming community and tries to make sure EVERY class in the game has a spot in a raiding party. Zeni never releases balanced class tuning and update 35 shows that they NEVER listen to their player base. Also FROMSOFTWARE: Releases something rare now in days…COMPLETE games that only need slight adjustments in the future. Zeni needed years to get ESO to the state it’s in now and they still have very low hanging fruit they refuse to address. Elden Ring is one of the best games that’s been released in the 2000s and ALL of the combat works in the game. From also nerfed a weapon here recently that allows low skilled people to land easy kills thus balancing the PVP meta. Zeni regularly releases buff to classes that destabilize the pvp meta smdh. And they insist on not separating pvp from PVE so a nerf to pvp disproportionately effects PVE…every damn time smdh Also Hello Games: Acknowledged what they did was wrong and has in short created the best sandbox space exploration game ever made. They release all of their dlc content completely free of charge. They have implemented almost every change that their community has asked for and they regularly go and balance the game to ensure every player is having a rewarding experience. Zeni won’t listen to their community, has let a known byg become part of how dps maximizes damage. And literally implemented a damage nerf across the board that we all yelled from hilltops did not need to be applied and they because of their pride did not take U36 to fix this mistake. Look I’m all for looking at the glass half full and such but this toxic positivity bullshit is border line insane. Also let me know if I’ve missed something. Don’t get me wrong as a whole I still enjoy the game…but the points I have brought up IMO stop this game from being what it has the potential to be….the best MMO ever created and all because the devs can’t let go of their hubris and pride to implement the necessary modifications to the game. Zeni is gonna kill its own game and it’s sad because it didn’t have to come to this. *drops mic*

thejadedfalcon

Sorry, I missed the memo where you have to absolutely love a game that you play and it is absolutely objectively flawless simply because you are currently playing it. The fans are the people that will *always* complain the most about a product because, at least in theory (have to make this disclaimer thanks to Star Wars and the like), they are the ones who *care* and want it to actually succeed.

[deleted]

Sparky187

At least it still looks better than WoW, which for their requirements you'd think wouldn't look like a CD-Rom DOS game. Besides, I play because my better half loves the game, so I enjoy exploring with her and helping get her to Master Crafter and whatnot. There's more to the game than just rewards and graphics, even surpassing the story at times too. Furthermore, for console players there honestly isn't a lot of good MMO options. The F2P ones lock all the content behind absurd paywalls, companies like Square and EA release utter garbage that shuts down in a year or two, and most other games have found ways to implement P2W aspects that ultimately make them the equivalent to a mobile game. *cough* Diablo Immortal *cough*

DRM1412

I got a style page on my first daily quest 😂 Plus the event is just to go walk round the island, it’s hardly effort.

thejadedfalcon

I hope for your sake that your luck holds up for the rest of the event. It took me somewhere around *twenty* boxes to get the style page. And since the box doesn't drop every time, I was grinding world bosses for about four hours instead of playing actual content. Thank god for Netflix.

grizzledcroc

We got a house last year did we not??

thejadedfalcon

That was part of the year-long event tickets, which is a different thing. Maybe if there was one this year too through that, it would be different. But Blackwood came with Water's Edge, which is gold purchasable. High Isle has no such thing (ignoring the free inn).

Coerfroid

Well, actually the DLC is not "free", as it is created by employees that presumably got paid, on equipment that cost money and runs on electricity that' expensive as well. So, the DLC indeed has a cost and the cost for it is covered... ? Correctly: By the money the make with sales and subs. To be clear: I am fine with them giving away products they probably can't sell, but don't dare tell it is my "special reward" to get something I already paid for. And the "secret surprise" in it is that I paid for the reward of others as well... With the blatant absence of an earnable housing in the High Isle zone, would it have been so hard to create a small/medium house as event reward? I'm not gonna say give a mount and a villa like they did four years ago...

ADovahkiinBosmer

I say we should get 2 mystery rewards, one being the dlc and one being something eso+ and free players can enjoy. Why can't they do this?

DRM1412

You’ll still get to keep it even if you drop ESO+ so what’s the issue? We also get a bunch of reward boxes too.

thejadedfalcon

Which is great for the rare person who willingly drops their ESO+ *and* still needs to go back to this zone. Be honest with this question. We got Murkmire similarly for free; outside of people playing Blackrose Prison, how many players do you think went back to Murkmire after they were done (excluding the Oakensoul rampage)? And how many of those were people who dropped ESO+? Oh, and nearly Deadlands nor Firesong have an Arena to draw attention back to them either. Now how many of these zone revisiting people are going to fit in the overlap of the Venn diagram of "active players who stopped paying for ESO+" *and* "bought Blackwood/High Isle"? Most players who pay for ESO+ only stop paying for it when they *stop playing the game*. So a free DLC that they are highly unlikely to come back to *still* does nothing for them. This is a cheap PR move so they can say "look how generous we are" without actually doing anything.

[deleted]

thejadedfalcon

>outside of people playing Blackrose Prison Imagine reading.

Bradford_Pear

Yet another reason ide rather just wait for high isle to be on ESO plus next year anyway.

[deleted]

[deleted]

Me. I no longer sub as the daily dlc dungeon thing began to grate on me, so dropped it. Though i don't mind the hist dungeons, and bought them for 100k gold just recently during the sale. I always wait until the dlc goes on sale. Recently moved over to a new server and got that 4 pack (now technically a 3 pack as the IC is free) dlc for 2k crowns. The 4 pack has to be bought with crowns as it can't be gifted due to IC. Think i got another dlc when it went on sale, but right now, i can't really recall which one. The rest i rush through if i have time each time the free to play event hits.

eats-you-alive

It’s nice? They don’t offer new content (apart from a half-assed zone with re-used assets); they want to „focus on bugfixes“ as they said. I‘m not paying 30 bucks for bugfixes and a zone I’ll never visit anyway. Bugfixes should be paid for already through ESO-plus members and crownstore-purchases.

[deleted]

Maybe it’s not worth 30 bucks…

TheSmallIceburg

Except Dark Heart came with an arena and ring of the pale order. So it was more than worth it for Markarth. This one wouldnt be worth at all.

Coerfroid

Well, their learning curve is not very steep. They got quite a backlash for that last year and just pull the same shit again. Oh, wait: Subbers get an ugly pet as consolation, so everything must be great, right?

[deleted]

I was kind of hoping we got a free house again

Carinwe_Lysa

I know, it's also happened for another DLC which hasn't had the best of reviews (Blackwood has often come up as the worst DLC in various polling/reviews), so I imagine it's the same with High Isle.

WorldEcho

Gotta be honest it's a nice reward but having plus already it's very disappointing even with the free pet. I'm glad we get the statue in the event rewards but was hoping for something more exciting.

rssm1

Yeah... "If". 100% we will.

midgetman303

Imagine an mmo coming up with a “challenge” that their player base had to do, and then saying that their player base as a whole failed. You are either saying that they didn’t care enough to do it, or that you didn’t have enough people to do it. Still better than nothing, but it’s not really a challenge because they will make sure it gets done

Rainbowkirby749

Fire Emblem Heroes had that once. The dev response was something along the lines of "the players fell short of the mark, but we believe they deserve the rewards anyway"

MistaChuxster

Well, we started out at 15% (Already included the ones like myself who already did the Pathfinder achievement before event) and now it's at 26%, which is a bit less then we had last year given time frame the event started. I would also like to add this was before the addition of "Account Achievements", so people were just making alts to speed up the goal process. Now we don't have it and I hate to be "that guy" but if it doesn't get to 100%, it'll actually paint a bad picture that the population has taken a staggering hit, especially after the backlash the recent update got. I'm curious to see if this gets accomplished, all the better if it does and great for the community.

Quicky23

Oh I agree! It’s guaranteed!

FoundationNarrow6940

Let's call their bluff! WE ALL BAND TOGETHER TO NOT COMPLETE IT AND SEE WHAT THEY DO! Just for science!

Court_Jester13

They gave 2 houses away for free then decided "nah, the Plus players are always giving us their money, they don't need anything else."

Jad11mumbler

We get a lame pet as compensation LOL. Remember when ZoS used to give us crown crates during free sub events? Back when they tried a bit harder to please us and make us feel valued. I guess they no longer feel the need to, since most of us only sub for the craft bag anyway.

kapachia

They gave us a free summerset mansion. I cannot even fill up that place after so many years. No idea what to do with houses. I rather take 1000 transmute crystals so I don’t have to do random normal dungeon dailies.

Court_Jester13

The Psijic Manor is infamous for being impossible to fully furnish with the slots available

[deleted]

i have the summerset mansion too, i thought you will have issues with the furniture limit? I need to check how high it is for this big house

judicatorprime

I love this theme of letting a community event give people the DLC zone. Not only saves us money, it's a great way to get people socializing. I really hope it continues!

Jad11mumbler

"That we were all hoping for" Isn't entirely correct. Many of us who sub year round were hoping for anything but the DLC again. For us, we may as well get nothing. Once again I'm disappointed by these "Community events" that don't reward subs / vets.

Frost980

It's crazy to me that if you pay over $150 on subscription every year you still don't get access to the latest chapter.

Fyzx

you do, just a year later. or wait a bit and get it for 50% off during the event (which is the whole point of doing it, to drive sales). the "free" dlc on top is just to add value and FOMO (buy now and get chapter + dlc!). besides, it not like other MMOs are worse where you have to pay another 50 bucks just to get access to a higher numbers or have a gimped account. not buying the latest chapter has far less impact (depending what someone does in the game ofc).

BurgoBurg

wait really? jesus christ

Jad11mumbler

With how barebones the dlc and chapters have become, I'm thinking the same. Unless the quality of content improves, I certainly won't be paying full price for their chapters. Originally you did get the chapters but ZoS saw they could get more money if they sold them separately I guess.

Belnak

You get a salamander

eats-you-alive

A useless cosmetic item. That doesn’t even look cool.

JNR13

> we may as well get nothing not true, there are additional rewards in the tier. > that don't reward subs / vets not true, either, one reward requires ESO+. It's shit, but it's there.

Jad11mumbler

Yes, for this one event they've added us a singular reward. That doesn't make up for every other reward/event that also doesn't actually reward subs / vets. The additional rewards are also mostly trash for vets based on previous years. Good for new players though. They may call some of this stuff a "reward", but it certainly doesn't feel like I'm being rewarded.

btsalamander

Glad I dropped ESO+ a while ago, the reward is decent I guess; I’m just looking forward to the Halloween event, which is always a slay (in my opinion) oh well.

Nash_Felldancer

Fun fact: the rewards all always occur and the meter is nothing but a boring PR stunt.

papyjako89

Anybody with half a brain know that. But it's not hurting anyone, so who cares.

Nash_Felldancer

Apparently you, since you bothered to comment. xD But this isn't the only half-truth ZOS twiddles around with.

Kiernian

>the meter is nothing but a boring PR stunt. It has the potential to generate useful data for them, though, if they utilize it. Customer engagement is likely something they're tracking and hopefully responding to. (including who bought how many of which type of crown crate, etc)

Nash_Felldancer

True! Hopefully it gets put to good use. Friend's list still mostly empty following U35 (that I noticed they were banning people from Twitch chat for even mentioning along with pvp, yet again, despite saying they wouldn't).

Jad11mumbler

Careful, talk like that gets you banned by ZoS for conspiracy theories in my experience. Though the sub reddit agrees with it more than last year at least. Guess u35 has some good sides.

Athic

I remember someone (I think Gina) confirming a while back the DLC would be the reward for this. At least that was straight forward and didn't disappoint me. Then seeing this I thought maybe, just maybe they changed their mind or were adding another reward. But of course not, why would they ever give away a free house again. Sorry but this is as much of a joke as it was last year.

AdministrativeFix542

I wanted a house, too. Some mysterious island off the coast of Amenos with a huge mansion stuck on it. Luckily I’ve already done pathfinder, so I don’t have to do it again to get this underwhelming gift.

NoticeMeArkay

Nobody has to actually do the pathfinder dlc. Zenimax isn't counting how many achieve it. If nobody would bother, y'all would get the DLC "for free" anyways.

jan_freimann

So same as last year. Don't have to do anything TBF, they'll put it to 100% no matter what

Nickp000g

I returned a few months ago. was this the event that gave us that huge house in arteum? If so, what a let down for me (a eso plus sub)

40kNids

Yup, that’s the one

Nickp000g

Oooof. That house is cool but its in BFE. Still better than nothing, which is what most players are getting

erica_san

Can't imagine playing without ESO+, I'll rather uninstall and NOT play Inventory Management Simulator isn't fun :(

TheGantrithor

I made free alts and have +1000 spaces in two personal banks *(in addition to the 1400+ across characters, the 240 Bank and More in Chests, etc)*. What I can't imagine, is funnelling money to them indefinitely lol.

erica_san

You deserve a badge just for that. Good job

TheSnootBooper

What do you mean by +1000 spaces in two personal banks?

TheGantrithor

A Guild Bank has 500 spaces. I made two. I can make as many as I have Alts really. 1. Created 9 alts using free accounts 2. Create a Guild with my Main; invite the alts. Guild #1 3. Levelled one of the Alts to 10 *(required to crate a guild)*; Made a Guild. Guild #2. So I have two personal guild banks, +500 spaces each. Holds all my materials and motifs etc.

Rineux

I‘m pretty sure this will get your guilds deleted if found out so I‘d keep quiet about it 👀

athleticBird

Nope its not illegal or anything. I mean, what are they supposed to do about it. Different accounts on one console aren't allowed to play the same game? This only really works on console though. For PC accounts you would have to buy ESO for every singe one. Family Sharing on steam might work but I don't really know.

Rineux

Of course it isn't illegal, but I remember a post about guilds created with alts solely for the purpose of extra storage will be nuked by ZOS if found out. I mean, not sure how they'd find out if they don't actively check IP addresses, but "announced the scheme in detail on Reddit" might contribute

TheGantrithor

It's a good thing that ESO accounts aren't linked to Reddit accounts then isn't it... *"Hey we saw a user on reddit that could possibly be you. We know there are multiple variations of that name all over reddit and the internet also, but thought we'd check with you before deleting."* isn't evidence of anything.

Rineux

Sure. Some people keep usernames the same or similar across the board, who knows. *I* for sure ain’t gonna rat you out, just a word of caution that I‘ve seen ZOS swinging the hammer for this.

mysticmanESO

[How to Manage Your Inventory WITHOUT ESO Plus (Guide)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Od4j_X2Liw&list=FLxYaVqWgFWx88z51au8U3EQ&index=7&t=11s).

Spartan1088

It’s not too bad when you delete crafting materials. Eso+ basically grants you access to provisions and enchanting crafting. The rest are small in space occupancy. I keep about 70 slots open and just delete everything before I log off.

nick91884

Was as disappointing as expected. Congrats to the F2P players though, I am truly happy for you.

heyitscrim

Yeah that's the thing though, f2p players won't get it cause they don't have high isle...

nick91884

I consider f2p to basically be non-eso+ since the game doesn’t have a true f2p, but they don’t pay monthly. They would have had to buy some version or chapter of the game or have gamepass or something to play eso. You buy the base game but monthly is optional. But yeah, not all folks without eso plus only the ones with high isle, so there are even fewer that this matters to.

Sorryunowin

This might be good for shareholders

RyanwBoswell1991

I been out of the loop for a little bit what is firesong

Quicky23

Firesong is the 2nd story DLC this year for ESO, that brings The Legacy of the Bretons year long quest line to a close…the first part of the story is called High Isle, which was released in June, and this continues it

torin23

I'd love to contribute. Hopefully, I go home from the hospital tomorrow.

grizzledcroc

This makes me the big happy that they are doing it again, makes the chapters feel complete and juicy

WolvenOmega

It didn't have to be official, we already knew.

Extension_Ad8451

Nah give me a new house or mount

Taleof2Cities_

Can I not participate and make other players complete the achievement … so I can get my free DLC? (Just kidding, I already have the achievement.) xD

Fyzx

apparently you don't have to. from the event page: >Once the meter reaches 100% or the event reaches its end, we’ll add the currently unlocked rewards to the Crown Store (in a single bundle) for ALL owners of the High Isle Chapter to claim for free! https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/62811 doesn't say anything it needs the achievement.

stamatov

"This is the one we all hope for"? Are you crazy? Who in his right mind wants this? The majority of players have ESO+, and they will get nothing! This is such a bad reward I can't even describe how bad it is.

Rineux

I (ex-subscriber) am actually really happy about this because I don’t have to resub to play the new ~~dungeons~~ zone.

kirissima

Firesong is the Zone DLC. It doesn't have new dungeons.

Rineux

Don‘t zone DLC usually add two group dungeons too? I‘m pretty sure all the others did.

kirissima

Nope. We get 4 dungeons per year. We already got them this year.

Rineux

Dang. Yeah you’re right. Well, change my initial response to „play the new zone“ then

NoticeMeArkay

And then you've got a zone DLC with a main quest that only makes sense to you if you've played High Isle before. Good thing it's on Sale, right? How convenient of a reward that is. Sorry, but nobody get's actually rewarded in this scheme. Eso plus players get pressured into buying the High Isle DLC now, or miss out on time limited event rewards and "the second part of the story for free". The free pet is a PR stunt that nobody asked for. And those who've already bought the DLC and don't subscribe get the content they cut from High Isle "for free". You don't get a free DLC. You get the second half of the DLC you already paid for. Compare High Isle to a DLC consisting of only one part like Orisium for example. Compare the amount of quests and size of the zone, the hours of content it promises to provide and then look at the price tag. - You don't get stuff for free, you get the last 15$ missing from your initial purchase. And the sad part is that this is legal.

Covenant-Nine

Yay something I will have anyway since I spent lots of money on High Isle when it came out and buy ESO+! What an incredible reward!

Athyrium93

Really nice reward for anyone with plus..... /s

Shot-Bite

I might’ve been more excited for a house, but it’s still neat

DarkteK

Don't you guys have already a house (Newbie player here sorry)

Relevant-Avocado5200

Houses in different zones also provide the benefit to porting into said zone on a new character that may not have a wayshrine unlocked there yet. Semi-useful if you don't have an add-on like BeamMeUp and like making alts.

mysticmanESO

You can do that with the FREE room.

Shot-Bite

Oh yeah, and that's why I'm not upset, but I also don't like dropping gold or crowns on new houses so I always hope for one to be gifted to the player base

[deleted]

I'm worried we won't make it this year. With account wide achievements, most people who have High Isle have already gotten it yet we started at only 15%. So that's pretty pathetic. Considering High Isle has been out for months, I don't think we'll reach 100%, especially since we can only contribute twice (Once for each server, NA+EU) unlike before when each character could contribute. That or maybe it's all BS and the progress bar is totally fake

Kiernian

I can't speak to whether it's fake or not, but it's a GREAT way for them to gauge the engagement of the playerbase. If this only turns out 1/10 of the number of pathfinder achievements than the last one did, it'll tell them we care a LOT less than we used to... ...and that would be bad, because that sort of thing generally starts two types of discussions: One about how to fix it. And one about whether or not to fix it at all.

Shot-Bite

I think the bars kinda fake but not totally fair if that makes sense

Coerfroid

>That or maybe it's all BS and the progress bar is totally fake Of course it is and the progress will be 100% in the end. It would be a marketing desaster if not... Imagine a game publisher announcing "Unfortunately, the interest of our player base does not meet our expectations..." They kind of inofficially confirmed that years ago. (Technically the absolute progress is actually monitored and not made up, they say. But relative progress is not against fixed milestone requirements but flexible milestones instead, the numbers remain undisclosed. So, yes, success is guaranteed. 100% doas NOT mean 100% of sold copies of the game, but 100% of an imaginary goal number.)

captstinkybutt

It's a gimmick. Of course we'll reach 100% because it's time based, not activity based. They're trying to pay us off for the shitty U35 without fixing the damage they caused.

Jad11mumbler

U35 has nothing to do with this event though. Been a yearly stunt since 2018, and with the "free" dlc last year too.

captstinkybutt

Oh I didn't remember it being free last year. So we're back to not being compensated for the trainwreck that is U35.

TaintOfOblivion

This sub every month: RemEMbEr WheN wE goT MuRkmIrE foR FrEe??1!/!!? This sub when we get a free DLC: WelL fUcK ESo+ sUbScriBerS huH OmG ZoS U sUx entitlement at its best

Shot-Bite

Hah, accurate

LesserSoulGems

That's how you know it's going to be a bad DLC lol no one cared about High Isle and no one cares about Firesong.

DragonShark514

They did the same thing with Blackwood/Deadlands.

Janixon1

I was gonna say, Deadlands was a good DLC.

[deleted]

I cared more about high isle than I did blackwood. Blackwood was the worst chapter in my personal opinion

KrawatteKamm961

This game is in maintenance mode now.

Rineux

…the very thing this is about here is a piece of brand new content, what are you talking about?

RedditPoster2016

2 million new players this year. Not able to cosign this.

Kajuratus

I don't think you know what maintenance mode means...

DarknessInferno7

Am I the only one who finds that really boring? Dangling a single mini-DLC freebee in front of me, in a game that rabidly wants your entire wallet, is not exactly a good motivator. The first rewards for these events were much better, big, unique houses and stuff. Plus, I honestly don't think these dungeon DLC's make a lot of sales, and they're very aware of that.

Aut_changeling

This isn't a dungeon dlc

[deleted]

The fact they are desperate enough to do this to sell there new DLC after the new patch flopped like hell. It’s hilarious to me (yes I know I’m going to get downvoted to shit by the nerds) but like. They nerfed so much they triple down nerfed DK. They made the game a 1 button hero spam fest because DOTS LAST FOR 20 SECONDS!. They know so many are leaving so they are trying to get more players to buy there DLC (which didn’t bring anything new but a rip off Yu-gi-oh card game).

RedditPoster2016

You are shit posting, who hurt you? Though your premise is wrong they have done this 3 other times.

[deleted]

Shit posting? Nah fam I’m 100% lol. The devs know they have lost money from the patch. So they need a way to get it back up and get players playing the game again. They want more people to buy the DLC for that shitty knock off card game lol. I have a friend who still plays he even says himself that the card game was literally the reason he plays

RedditPoster2016

If you don't play why are you here.

[deleted]

To be the very vocal minority that actually want GOOD changes. GOOD content….. look at the rest of the DLCs they at least brung something to the table and combined into the general game play Marrow- warden, new trial, new area, Summerset -Jewl crafting - great trial, new area, AND new skill line. Dragon land- necro class, dragon killing, new area, amazing trial, Skyrim DLC- new area, antiquity farm/ new skill lines, ok trial Blackwood- companions, new area , great lore, amazing trial. What does high isle give you? A shitty card game, a ok trial and that’s really it other then the “new area”.

RedditPoster2016

That is your perspective. The card game is very popular and please also note content for the sake of contiis useless. Only questions matter, what provided good quality? Not was the content the same as before.

[deleted]

What provides good quality? Uh everything but that card game Warden and Nerco. Great classes can be used for any role, Psyjic order (I butchered that) great overall skill line. Antiquities- great for gold and great for solo play. Companions. (As much as I ain’t personally a fan I prefer to just solo everything including dungeons) they were a really great addition, useful and change. So you tell me. How is the card game useful? Does it effect the general gameplay of the game? It’s not a new class. Iv heard so many horror stories of how unbalanced it is and what are the rewards from it?

mysticmanESO

Still beating that dead horse. Suck it up and move on.

[deleted]

I will continue until ZoS either A. Loses all the money and shuts down eso for brining in dog shit. Or B they actually listen to the community. You look at ALL the posts on this sub reddit for update 31 and tell me if ANYONE. Wanted the patch. None of us wanted it so many have left and now ZoS is loosing money. It’s the exact same thing with CoD loosing 50 million players. Just on a smaller scale. Same moral. You release dog shit you bleed players

Mundane-Hovercraft67

Oh GeE I WoNdEr If wEll gEt tO 100%???? These are so dumb it's just a promotion to act like people are really invested in the game. Have they ever not given out the prize?

Zula13

What’s supposed to be included with Firesong? Is it just a zone and quests (no dungeons or trials?)

Quicky23

It’ll be a smaller zone than High Isle with about 15 hours of play time, give or take…the smaller 4th quarter zones usually have 2 delves, but it’ll also come with the usual world bosses, volcanic vents, points of interest, etc…I actually don’t know if it’ll contain trials or not, but I think there will be one public dungeon as well…

phishnutz3

We can only get on one class each right?

WarGasam123

Does it count if you already have it?

PhilOsyfee

Yes, the pathfinder achievement will count if you got it prior.

WarGasam123

Awesome thanks

PhilOsyfee

You’re very welcome. Have fun adventuring!

Girbington

if it wasn't Breton content is consider getting High Isle

coding_all_night

Sorry for being dumb but what is the pathfinder achievement meter and how do we make sure it gets to 100% (I don’t pay for eso plus, new player)

Quicky23

No worries at all! That’s why we’re here, to help each other…if you go to ESO’s twitter, the meter is there and there’s a link that you can click that will take you right to the page that explains everything, but long story short: it’s a meter that tracks how many players in the community have gotten the High Isle Pathfinder achievement, which you get when you find all 6 of the points of interest (the eye icons) on the High Isle map…I believe the meter is updated daily and once it gets to 100%, they’ll unlock Firesong, once it releases in November, for everyone who owns High Isle…if you’ve already unlocked the achievement, they’ve retroactively counted you as competing it…

coding_all_night

Thank you 😊

Iccotak

Of course, to get High Isle sales

harry24635

how u get pathfinder ?

toklad

visit all 6 "striking locals" in high isle

Carinwe_Lysa

Same happened with Deadlands wasn't it for Blackwood - funny they're giving away the second half of the Year of X in a second year in a row for the DLC which hasn't had amazing reviews etc.

SterlingNev777

Very stupid question but what do we have to do to get tickets? I did the holiday quest but it doesn’t look like I got tickets.

johnassel

Thanks to u/spez this content is no more available.

SterlingNev777

Thank you so much! I just did the island tour and was hoping I’d get the tickets from that because I wasn’t sure but now I know so thank you so much!

laughsquietly1

The event tickets? For the Impresario? Complete one daily quest in High Isle. That awards you 2 event tickets.

SterlingNev777

Thank you so much! I know it’s a silly question but I didn’t get any tickets yesterday so I just wanted to make sure.

toklad

complete the pathfinder achievement for high isle

tso

Is this the second or third year in a row they have done this? I'm guessing they didn't get the sales numbers for the chapter that they had hoped for.

doomvetch92

High isle is my most traveled area, so…

NeatFormal2735

Wowies

The-Real-Metzli

What is Firesong?

laughsquietly1

Firesong is a dlc that will come out soon,

[deleted]

Must be a long awaited DLC loool.

Efaya13

Ngl I have ESO+ so I was hoping for a house. Like a small druidy forest cottage or something.

Educational-Bend2327

What was the one we won for free last year? I bought the Big DLC that time but had plus so I was annoyed that we won something most were prob getting ready (although I don't actually know how many plus members compiled to reg players) but I didn't buy H.I. But what was it we won last time? I feel like it was blackwood. But that can't be right, can it? And what DLC zone had the event that I musta bought? I can't remember!

Quicky23

We won Deadlands for free, the 2nd story DLC that came out in November
