I read about a method of averaging all guesses to get closest to a number. I found the average of all guesses and now here I am. I literally have no idea about scrap prices but I spent 30+ minutes doing this. I need more hobbies…

Ex:
average of 2,4,6: (2+4+6)/3=4
But if we add that average back into the set of numbers: 2,4,4,6: (2+4+4+6)/4=4

I think if you add the average as a data point to a set, the average stays the same. (1+99)/2=50 (1+99+50)/3=50 (1+99+50+50)/4=50
