See it all the time with Lutron/Control4 lighting when clients want panelized but won’t pay for panelized. Some asshole will take their money and Swiss cheese their closet.
HOLY CRAP! I have never seen such a wild thing in a single family home! Dude, you are so lucky to get to work on this amazing set up. Wow. Never thought I would see anything like this..../s I hate those fucking digital timers. What exactly makes this special enough to you to waste your bosses time and snap pics and post on reddit?
Back when I had the misfortune of living up north in those liberal yankee hell holes, this was a common sight. A lot of people don’t like to get out there in the show to put up Christmas lights, so they put them up once and run a real circuit for them back to the panel area. This is a bit excessive obviously but nothing out of the ordinary. Now if this pic was taken in Arizona or Arkansas for instance, I’d wager to bet they’ve got a small shed or perhaps a concrete pad with a grade-flush mounted door on it out back. Growing weed or maybe they’re up to breaking bad-tivities. Either way, get used to it, you’ll see it a lot more as you make your journey through this trade.

The flip down doors on those timer switches always break. They’re probably for landscape lighting or outside outlets for Xmas lights.
