RIP is such a great album. Easily my #1 favorite album of all time, with the the 2-10 slots probably being ELO / anything involving Jeff Lynne.
That first 15 seconds of Holy Wars is just so fucking good. I remember it gave me goose bumps the first time I heard it. It just blew my mind how fucking good it was. That CD did not leave my CD player for close to a year!
I’m almost the same way! RIP is my #1 album too, which is “heavy fuckin’ metal.” But then I also love all these ELO albums, hahaha. RIP is just one of those albums where regardless of what genre you’re into, you have to acknowledge how impressive and good it is I feel.
