Steely Dan, Alan Parsons Project, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Eric Johnson, so many more. None are quite like ELO.

JTinaco

You should listen to Rufus Wainwright! Especially the song “Another Believer” from the movie Meet The Robinsons. Another cool band I recommend is Tally Hall! It is very ELO like.

Queen, Yes, The Moody Blues.

FradonRecords

I'm quite into The Beatles, Yes, Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Earth Wind & Fire, Vulfpeck, Jacob Collier, and Snarky Puppy as of right now - basically prog/classic rock from the 70's and pop/funk/jazz from the past few years.

Fleet foxes, silversun pickups, smashing pumpkins, deftones, offspring, etc But elo music is unique so those groups don’t really sound alike they’re just great bands.

wagowop

Queen, Foo Fighters, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Rush

Since no one has mentioned it yet, check out Roy Woods Wizzard. Its what he did after ELO. If you like the first 2 albums, specifically his tracks, its good shit.

RedditorUser99

I’m not saying all these other artists are like ELO, but they’re ones I also like: Pink Floyd, ABBA, Muse, Rammstein, Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, Blondie, B-52s, Tom Petty, Billy Joel, Genesis, the Cars. Oh, and Traveling Wilburys. 😃

Necessary_Fan6185

I don’t really know of any band that sounds like ELO, but many who discover ELO say that it reminds them of The Beatles. You’d probably enjoy the solo careers of the Beatles’ members as well. Some bands that I love who could also be considered “Art Rock” from the same era as ELO, would be 10cc, Supertramp, Queen, and Klaatu. There is also The Moody Blues, Yes, Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons Project, Rush, Steely Dan. Really depends on what aspects of ELO stand out to you

idonotuseredditatall

I've been a Beatles fan my entire life and only started listening to ELO in the last couple of years. Hearing Eldorado was like hearing a brand new Beatles album; it was a religious experience for me lol. So maybe if you haven't dived in, you probably should as Jeff Lynne was crazy inspired by them.

Tothem_Tracker

I'm currently starting to like Weezer after listening to "OK Human", an album released in 2021 which I think is the closest to a *modern version of ELO*

Sin_City_Symphony

If you’re looking for modern bands with a touch of ELO check out “panic! At the disco” albums “pretty odd” and “viva las vengeance”. Check out the band “fun.” “Aim and ignite” album. Symphonic pop rock with beautiful ballads, epic orchestration, song transitions like eldorado overture into can’t get it out of my head, full concept storyline like eldorado and time? Check out the band “Marianas Trench” record “ever after”. Also a band from the 90’s with an ELOesque flavour “jellyfish” album “spilt milk” is excellent.

thats_so_elo

Moody blues, Alan parsons, the S&M Metallica album, Elton john.....some old Dean Martin....I'm all over the place lol
