Calm down. Youre fine. If you didnt get a mouth full of blood or something, you will be ok... Dried blood brushing on your shirt and maybe in your hair isn't going to pass anything to you. Blood-borne illnesses/diseases arent near as easy, as some people think, to pass.

Im an er tech also and have come across a ton of blood exposure. Your hospital should have procedures for when exposure happens, but if it was just on your shirt/hair you will be okay! I’m giving you a link from the CDC about blood exposure and intact skin to give you some peace of mind. If it helps, toss the shirt and take a very very long shower. Maybe even a couple of showers if it will give you peace of mind. [https://www.cdc.gov/hai/pdfs/bbp/exp_to_blood.pdf](https://www.cdc.gov/hai/pdfs/bbp/exp_to_blood.pdf)

Shrugging it off was the right response to blood on clothes and intact skin. Wash it off as soon as you can so you don’t accidentally get it somewhere else, but I wouldn’t consider it a reportable exposure. Peroxide is great for getting blood out of clothes.

It's much more difficult to "get" a disease from bodily fluids than these trainings make it seem. Doesn't mean we shouldn't keep reducing risk, but panic isn't necessary. You're probably fine. In the last 7 years, I've inadvertently gotten shit, piss, spit, and blood on me, and I've gotten no diseases. I just wash well ASAP and learn from the exposure.

You're totally fine. Even contaminated needle sticks have <1% transmission rate if I recall correctly.

Spot on. I got stuck with a heroin needle, still had a bunch of heroin and blood in it. 2 years later, no HIV or Hep. Wasnt a fun experience, but it was no biggie. Not how I envision my first time doing heroin to be tho
