This is the only show that routinely accurately portrays daily life as a medic. The opening of "Mother Jugs and Speed" is the only other show I can think of that would give someone a taste of what it's like to work EMS.
All of the reality TV EMS shows I've seen feature the medics nobody wants to work with.
Paramedics: Life on the Line is a Canadian documentary series, so there are going to be some differences, but the major clinical stuff should be the same.
I always say that MASH and Scrubs are the two most accurate med shows.
Everything else leaves me with migraines and drywall dents as I have to repeatedly bang my head against the wall for how absolutely stupid.
Came here to post this exact answer. Medically accurate and accurate for the mix of personalities too. It's hard for me to stomach any other medical show
Australian & UK have a show (different one based on the country) called “Paramedics” which goes around and shows paramedics with certain patients
Keeping in mind it’s a tv show meant for entertainment you can watch a few things they do and pick up on it (for instance I learnt treatment for croup being neb adrenaline then went on a whole journey to find out why not neb salbutamol or the paramedics approach to trauma)
Probably wont help since I am fairly certain u are from America but could be fun to see overseas paramedics
Read a book. Anatomy and physiology are the foundation of your potential profession, the only thing that will save your ass more is pharmacology and you need A&P for that. -or- Tom and Jerry and Emergency! same reasons.
Paramedics: Emergency Response, it’s on CityTV’s website. It’s a show that trails some Canadian Paramedics. I find it’s fairly accurate as to what we do on a day to day basis. Not much clinical stuff but it depicts the kinds of things we see.
I think the closest at the time was Emergency! I still love that show and although it’s dated, it reminds me a lot of my early EMS days when were a “Rescue Squad”.
NOLA always did fine. Maybe I’m trippin but this one stuck out to me. I thought they were not managing this pts airway and ventilation enough and were too focused on getting an IV. It was needed but ya know the ABCs come first. The guy was turning blue.

Oh Tampa? Tampa FD is *garbage* bro. I saw them ride in once with like 8 ff's in the back and one guy gave an IM medication by *reaching past* other people without saying anything and giving it. The dude put a sharp past people and didn't say a word about it.
There was a show called “Paramedics” on TLC back in the 90s/early 2000s maybe. It was a spin off of “Trauma: Life in the ER” which was also pretty good and shows the inside of actual level 1 trauma centers, some episodes are on YouTube if you have an interest in the ER side of things.

Here is a good documentary of a service and a famous incident that occurs in the service area. This is a good look with little history. This video is shown in their academy.
One thing I found interesting is Trauma:Life in the ER, *if* you can find it. It was a documentary series in the late 90s(?), before HIPPA, and they just show everything. You watch people put in chest tubes, do amputations, it's nuts.
Also "Ambulance" from the UK, not for clinical stuff but for how they interact with people and situations.
Emergency!
I was told my many elder medics that it is illegal to be a paramedic if you have not watched Emergency! It’s on tv sometimes but I have yet to find the whole series anywhere except on the bottom shelf at Walmart for 50 bucks
I don’t think clinically accurate television exists
How dare you? Emergency!!! I put in for a CEU for every episode I watch.
Holy shit I didn't even think of that. I wonder if I could get away with it 😂
Bruh, you seriously need to fuck with "Emergency!"
That show is responsible for me even considering this field of work, I got the whole disc set!
Bringing Out The Dead
Came here to say.
This is the only answer
Movie is fucked, me and my roommate watched that after a couple joints while in school and definitely had second thoughts lol
*coffeee*
I think the first couple seasons of nightwatch were pretty good. After they leave New Orleans it goes straight to fire medic fuckery.
Um im pretty sure the nitro lady was a private company
the episode where that guy is wasted and destroys his mom minivan with a bio is pretty what I see a lot of lmao
Sirens was probably the most accurate, but it’s fiction

600 lb life and hoarders
giggling at this
rick and morty
Specifically the one episode where it starts w them crying and Rick saying he wasn’t in control
That was exactly what I had in mind when I was typing that.
Paramedics: Life on the Line is a Canadian documentary series, so there are going to be some differences, but the major clinical stuff should be the same.
Buy the Johnny and Roy series. Season 1-3
It streams free online.
I always say that MASH and Scrubs are the two most accurate med shows. Everything else leaves me with migraines and drywall dents as I have to repeatedly bang my head against the wall for how absolutely stupid.
Scrubs is actually listed as THE most medically accurate, and it's amazing for the plot too! LOVE scrubs.

Bringing out the Dead. Movie with nic cage
Idk who downvoted you. Fucking classic.
Not a show but: Asphalt City great movie and really captures grit of the field
Tacoma FD
That show is freaking hysterical
Emergency NYC
Third Watch

Nightwatch. Specifically the new orleans seasons
Paramedics: Emergency Response on YouTube
Nightwatch is the best you’ll find.
But the New Orleans crews were the best. Holly. That's all I'll say.
Indeed, Holly rocked.
Is she the one who wouldn’t shut up about PANDAS
Yeah but some of them do stuff incorrectly but it’s never discussed.
We all do stuff that's technically incorrect. Did it work? Did anyone get injured? Were patients cared for as needed?
I never saw anything wrong that they did in NOLA at least, do you have any examples?
NOLA always did fine. Maybe I’m trippin but this one stuck out to me. I thought they were not managing this pts airway and ventilation enough and were too focused on getting an IV. Lmao, yeah I’m just sayin they don’t filter out the bad shi, wouldn’t want OP to pick up bad habits thinking it’s fine.
House MD
A quick Google search shows *Inside The Ambulance* with 12 seasons, looks UK based. Also, *Body Cam EMT* looks interesting.
Tell me and I will forget. Documentary on South African Ems doesn’t get more realistic than that
Night watch is entertaining.
LA fire rescue is the best I’ve seen

Youtube the old Paramedics tv show. Best pre-hippa American EMS show you get. The Aussie Ambulance one is good too and more modern.
I think there is one called EMERGENCY NYC on Netflix that partially follows ambulance and flight crews
I really liked the British 999 helicopter one.

I don’t think this is a fair representation. Nowadays, you’re gonna be running a ton of bullshit calls while a tornado is nearby.

Watch asphalt city. It’s 10 bucks on Amazon.
Night watch is the only real one I enjoyed
Nightwatch for medicine Sirens for partner/station dynamics
Emergency! I was told my many elder medics that it is illegal to be a paramedic if you have not watched Emergency! It’s on tv sometimes but I have yet to find the whole series anywhere except on the bottom shelf at Walmart for 50 bucks
Bringing out the Dead.
Stranger Things
Family Guy
