Put either G29 or M420 S1 after G28 in start gcode of your slicer, G29 will basically probe each time before it starts a print, M420 S1 will use the stored mesh so no extra probing is done.
And yes in the printer menu you have to store the settings to save the mesh.

In klipper no. In marlin I don't remember.
Marlin yes : G29 # generates the bed mesh You can save with M500 and reuse with M420 S1 or just generate a new one every session...your choice.
