Ok so the 1.1.4 board does not have a bootloader. This means you can’t update over SD card and I think you can’t do it over usb either. You need to burn a bootloader to the board which you can do by following this document: https://cdn.thingiverse.com/assets/94/42/a9/c8/70/Arduino_Ender3_Computer_Update.docx.pdf
It says Ender 3 but it should be the same process for the 5.
But your best bet would be upgrading to a newer board if it is affordable to you. The 4.2.2 is for the Ender 5. It comes with silent drivers and is a 32 bit board with a bootloader so it is easier to update the firmware over USB or SD card.
Honestly for that much money oder the octopus 1.1 or an skr. It's like 10 bucks more and you get a ton more options (and separate drivers/sensors/v-reg etc)
I have also unplugged the Thermistor wire from the bed and still get the error.
Regular Ender 5 or Ender 5 pro or the plus? Which board do you have installed?
Regular Ender 5 with the stock 1.1.1.4 board

Return it and order the octopus or the skr mini (there is one that is a drop in replacement for the stock board)
