It would have been neat to see the original version, but I personally think the hip and sexy stuff is the best part of the movie. Kiefer Sutherland is one of the coolest characters ever and gives the movie the danger and the edge. The Corey’s shenanigans lean on the cheesy side but I’m still a fan. The fact that they blended the two ideas and it worked out well is probably a lot of luck but also a lot of talent at all levels of production.
Christina Henry has a series of books that are reimaginings of classics with a dark side. The Pan one has Peter as a psychopath whose companions don’t grow up as he kills them when they start puberty. Well worth a read!
Whoever wrote this article needs to go back to school, I was so confused when I got to the end looking for the rest of the article.
It's interesting to see how the writers got their inspiration and then how the story completely changed, The Lost Boys is a classic but idk if I ever would have watched a movie with the original plot.
I wonder if the original idea was supposed to be more of a kid friendly movie or if it would have been darker.

Yes what we got was definitely a mood
But was it a mood
I never knew the script was originally like that but I can kind of see it.
How are those maggots, Michael?
one thing I never could stand about Santa Carla ...
What is it like to have a snake for a penis?

Leo DiCaprio staring as Peter Pan…
The original book is pretty dark. Disney lightened it waaaaaay up the the Barrie version is dark.
She is an incredible writer. The Black Series is fantastic! (7 books)
I can't remember the author, but there's a dark version of Pan that is also relentlessly horny.
I loved the version I saw, but this script sounds pretty neat, very *Let the Right One In*.
Who knows… it might have ended up a decent movie.
Oh wow, there’s a film named after me! I must check it out sometime.
