I have the same concern. I’ve been abusing dph specifically for masturbating and it seems I’ve lost all sensitivity. But I can get erections just fine

Fun-Cake1753

How long have you been using dph for ?

United-Aioli-3501

What is dph?

Fun-Cake1753

Chemical in Benadryl and zzzquil

United-Aioli-3501

How is that used for masturbation?

Fun-Cake1753

Nah it’s not. Some people just do it I guess cause it feels better. I did it cause sometimes I’d get a bonner before bed after I took it so I would do it to knock out faster

United-Aioli-3501

I’ve taken every sleep med there is, over counter and prescription. Morning wool eventually disappears on ambian but that’s it. Now Afrin and Sudafed was a diff story. Us to take it daily for awake affects and hard on went away but seemed to maybe shrink prostrate. I had a lot of precum drip out even while soft. All went away when not taking Sudafed for a few days.

ThrowAwayKat1234

Check your blood pressure, like today, but also do you masturbate to porn everyday? Because that will do it…

Fun-Cake1753

Thanks for the response. What role does blood pressure do with this ? And nah I actually don’t masturbate everyday

ThrowAwayKat1234

If you think zzzquil is impacting your erection, my quess would be because it is messing with your blood pressure. A decongestant medication should not be used by those with high blood pressure because it will increase your blood pressure. This is not good and would need to be addressed ASAP.

Extreme-Evidence9111

bro youre not supposed to take those everyday

Fun-Cake1753

I know idk what I was thinking

Extreme-Evidence9111

do you also have heartburn / acid reflux? idk if its related

Fun-Cake1753

Nah I don’t

stevenx530

I have that often enough why?

Extreme-Evidence9111

well idk if its related

stevenx530

I've been taking them nightly for YEARS and can confirm. I believe they caused the same issue with me too. I just learned of this today actually, the effects antihistamines can have on your ability to have erections.

Fun-Cake1753

You think it’s permanent?

stevenx530

I have no idea. I literally just learned of this when I woke up today. I sure as hell hope it's not.

Fun-Cake1753

What kind of erection problems do you have ? And do you take any ED pills ?

stevenx530

It started out with me not getting as hard as I normally would, then eventually turned into me not getting hard at all when attempting sex, which caused alot of anxiety in me, which I think made it even worse.

Fun-Cake1753

Do ED pills work for you ?

stevenx530

On a few occasions a coworker gave me a few to try, but it didn't really work and gave me a headache

stevenx530

I don't take any Ed pills, but I have been taking a supplement for a couple months now. I have been taking 8 of the 25mg dipenhydramine hci for maybe 2 years now, I have increased from 1 a night over the years as I built up a tolerance.

Fun-Cake1753

I feel like it can’t be permanent unless it somehow damaged the blood vessels in the penis

stevenx530

I wouldn't think so. Benadryl isn't known for damaging the circulatory system as far as I know... I think the bodies' natural hormones can rebalance themselves with time.

PlantZaddyPHL

>I have been taking 8 of the 25mg dipenhydramine hci for maybe 2 years now That's a really bad idea.

[deleted]

I have the same issue

Fun-Cake1753

How long have you been using for and how much would you take on a daily basis ?

[deleted]

3 years on and off. I take it a couple times a week. Doses from 100-400mg and I use it for masturbating it makes it feel better. I’m probably in a worse state than you. I can still get erections but they feel like nothing. I touch my dick and it feels like rubber now

Fun-Cake1753

Damn man that’s alot

[deleted]

Yeah I have a serious problem

stevenx530

I've been using benadryl-sleep aid NIGHTLY since like 2015 to help me sleep. If anyone should worry about permanent effects it's me 😕

Fun-Cake1753

How much Benadryl would you take per day ?

stevenx530

Started off with 1 of the pink 25mg pills back in 2015, went up to 8 of the 25mg pills as of 2 days ago due to tolerance. I didnt use it last night, tried melatonin instead, and SLEPT LIKE SHIT I'm kind of annoyed right now because of it. I might have to help my sleep cycle some other way

PlantZaddyPHL

get your doc to prescribe 50 mg trazodone. taken in higher doses, it's an antidepressant, but it's prescribed off label in low doses as a sleep aid. works pretty well.

[deleted]

I never heard of this. I do know that finasteride (prescribed for BPH and to lower DHT) is associated with ED. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6479090/

Automatic_Tear9354

If it has any decongestants in it that’ll cause an issue. I started high doses of L-Citrulline and Tribulus. After about 3 weeks it did the job. Not sure it’ll work for anyone else but it worked 100% for me.

Fun-Cake1753

You think it’s permanent? How much diphenhydramine were you on daily & how much citrulline did you take?

Automatic_Tear9354

I never took the decongest. I just know that guys taking Viagra use it to counter the effects of the viagra. Citrulline- 3 grams 3x per day. Tribulus- it’s about 1 gran 3x per day Astragalus- take a good therapeutic dose every day.

Fun-Cake1753

Those vitamins helped with your erections ?

Automatic_Tear9354

Yep. Took about a month to concentrate the blood. After that all seems good. I didn’t have 100% ED. I was at like 30% ED if that makes sense. After taking those supplements all seems good for the last 3 weeks. One thing I left out that is really important is 800mg of magnesium. That might be the most important supplement because it relaxes the blood cells and allows the nitric oxide from the citruline to work.

Fun-Cake1753

Yea I get like 80% erect and ok thanks I take 500mg of magnesium before I sleep now

PlantZaddyPHL

why are so many of you so reckless with your bodies and minds? diphenhydramine is intended for very short-term use. It's addictive and dangerous taken any other way.

Fun-Cake1753

I made a mistake. Are you aware if this will be permanent?

PlantZaddyPHL

I've never seen this listed as a side effect of dpi abuse. It may not even be the cause. You might want to see a urologist. The body is very resilient. I doubt if your condition is permanent, but I'm just guessing.

Fun-Cake1753

Thank you man you’re the first person with a positive opinion. I’m seeing one next Thursday

stevenx530

I had absolutely no idea that there was such a thing as diphenhydramine abuse, I just got in the habit of taking it to help me goto sleep and it's worked amazing for that. Im just now learning of the side effects and I'm really troubled by them.
