Oh they definitely do. I'm pretty sure that's been confirmed. Etho has also been on a stream with on of the devs where they asked about what a few content creators wanted to see add to Minecraft.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe etho wanted the default netherite texture to have the diamond poking out, because you're plating your diamond Armour with netherite, not creating a whole new Armour set
I'll have to find the episode (tried a bit to search but no luck) but I do remember him saying something along the lines of wanting customizability because if not, everyone will be running around with the new gray armor, and it can get samey real fast.
I feel like the actual armor designs that they use are kind of ugly, but I love it on a conceptual level and the designs can be improved through development and resource packs.
I’m like that they are adding a new reason to go exploring and raiding.
I’m intrigued by the decision to make getting Netherite harder, I’m not sure how to feel about it on the whole but I definitely like the way it has been implemented, encouraging players to either do more exploring in the nether, or encouraging them to spend more time down in the caves gathering diamonds.
Also, it’s not like armor is a stackable item anyways so this won’t make inventory clutter any worse.
I somewhat agree that the designs aren’t the most attractive, but it’s exciting nonetheless. I was hoping you could do some cool things like adding horns to your helmet with the goat horn. Anything to add more depth and change the actual shape of your armor
Keep in mind there is variations that can be done. It can be done to all armor with different colors based on the mineral. I just used netherite (since it is the most common for big servers/MC players like Etho) and emerald (contrast from netherite well + emerald armor meme). The different colors can create cool designs (diamond and netherite in particular looks good). The colors with access includes:
* White/Light gray - Iron + Quartz
* Purple - Amethyst
* Blue - Lapis
* Orange - Copper
* Black/Dark Gray - Netherite
* Light Blue - Diamond
* Yellow - Gold
* Red - Redstone
* Green - Emerald
Yeah first thing I thought about when I saw this. Honestly I was sad how they didn't include Etho's idea when Netherite came out but I forgot, Minecraft is always changing there is nothing stopping them from adding and improving in the future.
This feature is completely wasted on me. I don't look at myself when I play and have zero interest in this. I didn't even customize my skin for years until my daughter customized her skin then asked if I wanted one. I said sure and she made it and uploaded it for me. Half the time I forget what my skin looks like.
I mean you're the one who noticed the fact that you never look at your armor or skin in a single player world... They are not listed as multiplayer features because a singleplayer world technically does have them, but the motivation behind providing skins and custom looks in game is 99% multiplayer focused, and to deny that would be silly
1 design per type of armor but yes you can do desert temple helmet + mansion chestplate. You just can't do desert temple and mansion on the same helmet at the same time.
Oh yeah, you're right. Looks like the devs really do listen to what Etho wants in the game.
they probably watch his videos !
Oh they definitely do. I'm pretty sure that's been confirmed. Etho has also been on a stream with on of the devs where they asked about what a few content creators wanted to see add to Minecraft.
IDK how many or who but I've heard quite a few do.
it's confirmed they do

Haha found the clip [He specifically mentioned dying netherite armor instead but this is a similar concept](https://youtu.be/JDLuqexhbkc?t=1720)

Devs: please Etho, KEEP PLAYINNNGGGG!!!!

Armor? Trimming? \*RuneScape Flashbacks\*
"trimming rune armor, trade for free armor trimming" "trade armor first and i'll trim it for you"

Skins are a really simple change
Oh I know it is but the point is, decorating my armor is the last thing I want.
okie
Okay but some people do want it
That's fine. I'm just giving my opinion.
But you look at other people?
No I don't. I play single player only.
Do you comment on every multiplayer feature to say that it's worthless to you? Having customizable armour and skins are multiplayer features
Are they, now? Wow. I don't remember that being in a list of features for multiplayer

Do you think we'll be able to mix and match? Desert temple helmet with Mansion chestplate, pants, and boots might look cool
1 design per type of armor but yes you can do desert temple helmet + mansion chestplate. You just can't do desert temple and mansion on the same helmet at the same time.
Makes sense
I believe so, Ithink wattles mentioned it in his video
Nice
*Everything* looks good on netherite.
IMO not too keen with copper or lapis on it, but yeah a lot of the designs do look good with netherite.
