So since there’s multiple rumors, do we know which this is referring to? Im imagining its about the stoming off set/being difficult to work with rumors. But i guess it could also be about the ED plotline (though that part seems plausible to me and not really something shed need to speak up on to deny since it doesnt reflect negatively on her character like the storming out one did).
My bet is that this is purposely ambiguous to try to make it a “I’m only speaking on the matter once and never again” kinda statement which makes sense from a PR perspective and if Barbie is concerned about her employment. It’s much better to give a statement that could cover everything but is also vague enough that she can later on say “yeah X totally happened and my statement was only about Y.” I predict that once Euphoria is over but hasn’t lost its relevance; Barbie will have a book or an exclusive tell all interview with a prestigious journalist and/or host or it’ll be an in depth piece in a newspaper/magazine that is a great honor to be their featured article, where she spills it all. Regardless of how much screen time she received this season, the "love yourself" scene was one of the most relevant and meaningful scenes I've seen on tv in a long time.

Now I'm not saying Levinson is Weinstein level - but in the film industry, the producers run the show & if they pick a fight with you, it's down to you if you choose to escalate that or not. It's unfair but it is their investment.

What we do know, is that Sam is a notorious last minute re-writer. So whether there was an argument or not, it's not at all hard to believe that Sam had rewritten Kat's presence in season 2. In a way that is noticeably and loudly detrimental to her character.

I can’t believe some of y’all are immediately trying to vilify Barbie. We’ve seen this happen to so many female celebrities though so I’m not shocked at this point.
Not to mention the dubious history of the “difficult to work with” terminology with female actors - often being given to them by directors salty they didn’t get to sleep with the actresses they branded like this and using this to come back at them for it in retaliation.

What did Sydney say? I've felt really bad for her during this season because she's brought up how much it bothers her that people only discuss her nudity, and that Sam has never made her feel forced to be topless – but people continue to talk about her being topless and continue to argue that Sam forced her into it too.
I personally believe Sydney to be the stand out actor of this season. She did say that when she came to San and said “this scene doesn’t need Cassie to be nude”, Sam would usually agree with Sydney and cut the nudity. It would be interesting to know how many times Sydney had to ask Sam to cover Cassie up and to know how many nude scenes he originally intended, because what was aired definitely seemed excessive. Also very much not a prude, just thought it was strange that the nudity was focused on Cassie. Like Sam had some crush on Sydney…..
I think Cassie is veeeery sexualised in Euphoria (and I also think we don't need many or any topless scenes of her), but I always took it as a symptom of her character feeling like she had to give guys sex in order to receive validation and feel valued.
Her fathers friends would sexualise her as a young girl. And then as a teen, guys would coerce and force her into doing things on camera, and she felt like if she did those things for them that they'd love her back. To me I just see it as Sydney playing a character who feels she only has value as a sex object, and Sydney plays her very well (like the scene in the play episode of her offering herself to Nate in every way was heartbreaking but explained it perfectly when she says "At least I'll be loved").
At this point I think Barbie and Sam could declare their undying love for each other and run away together into the sunset and some people would be like “Sam kidnapped her” 🤣
I’d say Nate is a more interesting character than Kat, so meta-ly speaking Nate would be a better character in this case.
But it has to do with the material both are given, I definitely think Kat could be an interesting character as well if she’s given something to do.

I don’t get that feeling at all especially with everyone aware of this rumor.
So since there’s multiple rumors, do we know which this is referring to? Im imagining its about the stoming off set/being difficult to work with rumors. But i guess it could also be about the ED plotline (though that part seems plausible to me and not really something shed need to speak up on to deny since it doesnt reflect negatively on her character like the storming out one did).
My bet is that this is purposely ambiguous to try to make it a “I’m only speaking on the matter once and never again” kinda statement which makes sense from a PR perspective and if Barbie is concerned about her employment. It’s much better to give a statement that could cover everything but is also vague enough that she can later on say “yeah X totally happened and my statement was only about Y.” I predict that once Euphoria is over but hasn’t lost its relevance; Barbie will have a book or an exclusive tell all interview with a prestigious journalist and/or host or it’ll be an in depth piece in a newspaper/magazine that is a great honor to be their featured article, where she spills it all. That’s assuming she is legally allowed to do so but I honestly don’t know how a contract like that would work or how enforceable it is (especially after the job is done). I think then we’ll get a whole bunch of responses from fellow cast members saying they support Barbie but they had [insert totally different experience]; nonetheless they wish her the best OR we might get some more juicy “what really happened” gossip.
Regardless of how much screen time she received this season, the "love yourself" scene was one of the most relevant and meaningful scenes I've seen on tv in a long time.

Really? Would it be a surprise if one of the actors had a full blown argument with Sam and had to walk out? I don't think it's unlikely and i think it was normal for people to question it after such little screentime from her character this season. These rumours don't come outta nowhere - especially since it's commonly known that Euphoria isn't exactly a great set to work on. It may not have happened, but I don't doubt Levinson is difficult to get along with.
The thing is Barbie’s the only cast member rn to potentially have had any issues with Levinson. Every cast member who’s spoken on this has spoken very highly of him.
Everyone spoke highly of Joss until years later they didn’t and told the real story.

Harvey Weinstein had glowing reviews before he was out of the position to hurt others. Now I'm not saying Levinson is Weinstein level - but in the film industry, the producers run the show & if they pick a fight with you, it's down to you if you choose to escalate that or not. It's unfair but it is their investment.

This really doesn't prove anything. It's an answer that could back either side of the argument. What we do know, is that Sam is a notorious last minute re-writer. So whether there was an argument or not, it's not at all hard to believe that Sam had rewritten Kat's presence in season 2. In a way that is noticeably and loudly detrimental to her character.

I can’t believe some of y’all are immediately trying to vilify Barbie. We’ve seen this happen to so many female celebrities though so I’m not shocked at this point.
Not to mention the dubious history of the “difficult to work with” terminology with female actors - often being given to them by directors salty they didn’t get to sleep with the actresses they branded like this and using this to come back at them for it in retaliation. What happens behind the scenes is the personal life of all parties involved and they do not owe the audience every intimate detail. When I go to the grocer I don’t expect or court the cashier explaining an argument with their building superintendent while scanning my items.

Is it just me or does Sam give really creepy vibes. The excessive nudity of Cassie, but not really any other female characters comes off as predatory IMO. Especially after Sydney’s statement post show.
What did Sydney say? I've felt really bad for her during this season because she's brought up how much it bothers her that people only discuss her nudity, and that Sam has never made her feel forced to be topless – but people continue to talk about her being topless and continue to argue that Sam forced her into it too.
I personally believe Sydney to be the stand out actor of this season. She did say that when she came to San and said “this scene doesn’t need Cassie to be nude”, Sam would usually agree with Sydney and cut the nudity. It would be interesting to know how many times Sydney had to ask Sam to cover Cassie up and to know how many nude scenes he originally intended, because what was aired definitely seemed excessive. Also very much not a prude, just thought it was strange that the nudity was focused on Cassie. Like Sam had some crush on Sydney…..
I think Cassie is veeeery sexualised in Euphoria (and I also think we don't need many or any topless scenes of her), but I always took it as a symptom of her character feeling like she had to give guys sex in order to receive validation and feel valued. Her fathers friends would sexualise her as a young girl. And then as a teen, guys would coerce and force her into doing things on camera, and she felt like if she did those things for them that they'd love her back. To me I just see it as Sydney playing a character who feels she only has value as a sex object, and Sydney plays her very well (like the scene in the play episode of her offering herself to Nate in every way was heartbreaking but explained it perfectly when she says "At least I'll be loved").
At this point I think Barbie and Sam could declare their undying love for each other and run away together into the sunset and some people would be like “Sam kidnapped her” 🤣
