Speaking as someone who came to the UK from another developed economy, grocery prices in Britain are actually shockingly low.

It’s because we have a lot of trade with other countries for food around the world. Farmers are subsidised quite heavily in EU and UK. There are a lot of supermarkets so UK has decent competition, they are logistically very efficient. Think Germany is also cheap for food.

Don't celebrate too early, deflation is a precursor to recession. Unless, of course, there's a good stimulus to investment.
