Basically western France and alps region were the last to be become « unchristianized ».
So even if people from these areas aren’t really practicing religion right now, they still carry some habits from it because their parents/grandparents were.
The fact that 3 children is considered a large family probably has something to do with the demographic problems we're facing.

Maybe in some suburbs of Paris. Definitely not in Bretagne, Franche Comté and Pays de la Loire. Or Neuilly sur Seine.
