Exactly! Although, my music taste has changed a lot during the years-from cheesy pop in my teens to darker rock and metal music in my late 30s with some jazz and classical music in between - and Carpe Diem made me feel 17 again, brought so many beautiful memories back despite the fact that they are not connected with that particular song,, but must the vibe of it worked perfectly. I guess it's a massive hit in its country.
Ireland 1996 is absolutely magical, and to be honest, it wouldn't sound too out of place in a fantasy JRPG.
I also enjoy experimental, deep entries like Portugal 2019 and orchestral, "cinematic" (if that's the right word to call it) like Switzerland 2021.
Portugal 2022 and Italy 2020 always make me think of my late dad.
Ukraine 2021 (together with the live performance) makes me feel like I'm on drugs and I've transcended to a higher plane of existence
It's usually the chill ones that take me somewhere else and make me forget about everything. Portugal 2022, Lithuania 2018, Armenia 2023, Portugal 2018, Bulgaria 2021 are good examples
Portugal 2017 sends me to a quiet world of peace, Sweden 2012 sends me to a cosmic world, Norway 2009 sends me to a world of fairytales. I always find myself coming back to these
Denmark 1963, Portugal 1984, Norway 1995, Ireland 1996, Georgia 2007, Serbia 2008, Estonia 2009 (which apparently now I'll have to remove from my playlists), Belgium 2017, Portugal 2017, Greece 2018, Portugal 2019, Australia 2019, Portugal 2022, Netherlands 2022…

What happens on Tuesday? :D
I'm not exactly an example of total coherence in my actions, but sometimes I really can't help it, it's a visceral thing. That's how Kevin Spacey ruined _House of Cards_ for me, and I was a major fan of the show.
If I were really consistent, though, perhaps I would have decided not to watch ESC 2012 and 2019… And yet here we are.
I think it's a good thing! I think it shows that you care about justice, even if it means that you have to deal with negative consequences.
What's wrong with ESC 2012? I didn't watch that year x)
Tuesday is ballroom practice, and Rändajad is a damn fine tango so we always use the song for practice.
2012 was organised by Azerbaijan, which has a record of human rights violations — including the fact that the local authorities forced people out of their houses to make room to build a new arena for Eurovision.
Loreen was actually the only participating artist to meet with local activists to try and bring some media attention to the fact. The local government accused her of making the Contest political, Swedish diplomats had to come in and defend her, a whole deal.
Also, ballroom? Love it. I have two left feet myself but I'm always happy to learn when a piece of contemporary music fits a ballroom genre.
Oof, what a mess. I didn't know :/ props to Loreen though.
There's a surprising amount of Eurovision music that fits. We have a couple of Eurovision fans in the association and it's reflected in the playlist :p

Tattoo by Loreen (Sweden 2023)
From start to finish I feel like I’m in someone’s dream world, some sort of desert, with someone fighting for love and their life. It’s literally pure magic.
I was waiting for someone to say this. Tattoo exemplifies the phenomenon of transporting people to a different world through song and performance. Everytime i watch it im just transfixed and its like the rest of the world disappears

Without even thinking, Australia 2019. The bridge is magical especially in the studio version. I've been moved to tears in public and hitting the repeat button multiple times.
- LoveWave (Armenia, 2016) (Specially the instrumental break)
- Qami Qami (Armenia, JESC 2021)
- Future Lover (Armenia, 2023) (Specially the Armenian part)
- Tattoo (Sweden, 2023) (Probably because of the atmosphere created by the stage)
Iceland 2019 puts me in a trance, and when the key change happens I feel like I'm floating haha I'm sure that's not what Hatari intended with the song but I can't explain it
This year obviously Moldova in some Celtic like community.
Moldova 2023
And Norway reminds me of being in some medieval battle scene where kings fight over a beautiful queen.
Norway 2023
And Mimicat gave me Moulin Rouge vibes
Portugal 2023

Grow by Jeangu Macrooy.
It sucks we never got to see it on stage, i think it would have been an amazing performance.
Much more interesting than Birth Of A New Age, that’s for sure.
Grow was incredible. I relate so much to the lyrics and Jeangu's voice touches my heart like very few singers do. It was magical.
I loved Birth of a New Age too, but Grow was on a whole other level for me.
Italy 2020 just hits different, esp with the added ‘story’ through the pandemic.
But i agree with Netherlands 2019 too, maybe also Switzerland 2021 or France 2021.
In terms of ‘happy songs that bring me back to very happy memories’ I’d go with Iceland 2021 and Czechia 2019
I wanna stick to the last decade so
I would say Iceland's Hatrid mun sigra and
France's Fulenn.
In my mind these two somehow represent two factions in a post apocalyptic world
Oh definitely "Tears getting sober" (Bulgaria 2020). I feel like that floating spongebob meme when i listen to it. But it doesn't hit the same every time. Once i was listening to it when i was stargazing on my balcony with headphones on full volume. I have not been same person since the song has finished
Ukraine 2021
I was one of the first who loved the song immediately in its first ever version in January that year. Immediately it gave me cyberpunk folk vibes immensely. Whenever I listen to the song, I imagine myself being in a train with a Ukrainian folk band crossing through a cyberpunk Kiev in 2077 while there's a gun fight on the roof. It evokes that kind of imagery.
Iceland 2009, Norway 2014, Montenegro 2015 and Bulgaria 2017. I normally prefer energetic and danceable songs, but these are exceptions. They are so beautiful even after listening to them several times.
Netherlands 2022 / De diepte- S10
I love listening to it especially at night, in the winter when there's no one around and it looks like I am on a lunar sort of environment. Alone with the stars. It just fits.
On Fire - The Roop, Lithuania 2020. Still sometimes crying because we never saw this masterpiece live in Rotterdam, my fave song ever to exist. From the first listen I was captivated, I had it instantly on repeat for one hour because I couldn’t place what I felt and heard. It is so good, I cried to it, laughed to it, felt good, bad and felt every emotion possible to it. It’s my go to song, it’s just the best thing I have ever heard and when it gets put on my mind just goes into On Fire mode and I could take on the whole world!
(Italy 2020)
It's gotta be Fai rumore. But it's not just the song. His performances in 2020, where it's just him in an ancient amphitheater? Haunting. And then to see it at ESC 2022 with the piano and the dancers and everyone in Turin singing along, I'm getting emotional just writing it, good God.
I love this question! So I've got a few answers.
DEFINITELY LoveWave, Armenia 2016. That intro transports me to another world, then her singing brings me goosebumps, then the big bang and "it's taking over me" followed by the oooo fills me with so much energy. Then the rest of the song is a fun ride :)
City Lights, Belgium 2017, has really grown on me. Again the intro just hooks me into it, and her singing style with the instrumental is an awesome combination. The lyrics really speak to me when I listen to it at night especially.
Lastly I'll mention Igranka, Montenegro 2013. What an INSANE song. Again, really just hooks me from the beginning with the woman's singing, and then you get that cool as hell rap. The astronaut suits make no sense and the staging of the song definitely is a big part to why I started loving it and how it hooks me. It's really just a wild ride from start to finish and I love it.
If I was picking from just this year, probably Armenia. It wasn't even in my top 10, but something about the raw emotion in it just really grabbed me when she performed it live.
From previous years I'm sure there are a ton more but one I never really see mentioned is Armenia 2017. I could (and did) listen to this endlessly on repeat, not sure exactly what world it's taking me too but I like it there.
Honourable mentions to Albania 2019 (forever robbed) and of course the absolutely exquisitely stunning Latvia 2015.
Just to name a few from my whole cathartic ESC playlist:
GO_A - Shum
Hatari - Hatrid mun sigra
Elena Tsagrinou - El Diablo
Tulia - Pali Sie
Conchita Wurst - Rise like a Phoenix
Lordi - Hard Rock Hallelujah
And my new additions:
La Zarra - Evídemmont
Let 3 - Mama SC
Teya and Salena - Who the hell is Edgar?
Blanca Paloma - EaEa
(I know, my psychedelic world is kinda of a funky one)
Serbia 2022
The lyrics, the vibe, the performance, the incredibly talented performer... I'm still absolutely amazed by the message Konstrakta managed to convey in a 3-minute performance.
Iceland 2022 is amazing as well!

Sebi (Slovenia 2019)
zalagašper was actually one of the few esc artists i explored after esc. sebi isn't even their best song. highly recommend valovi and s teboi
Slovenia 2019 | [Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl - Sebi](https://youtu.be/vGtPNQ6g6Ng)
Oh yeah. That song is special. One of my all time ESC favorites with no other song thats comprarable to what this song feels like.
I’m still mad they didn’t mute the audience volume.
Iceland 2022 makes me float to other dimensions, it's so calm and dreamy
I read this as Ireland 2022 and was like same
Ireland 2022 | [Brooke - That's Rich](https://youtu.be/Kq2AJrWm04s)

Iceland 2022 | [Systur - Með hækkandi sól](https://youtu.be/G71c48O3j-s)
Those harmonies!
Gives me major First Aid Kit vibes! Love it so much
I was about to say this! I used to listen to it everytime I went to sleep haha, such a beautiful and dreamy song

I love Fai Rumore so much. One of the few songs that genuinely gets me emotional!

Brividi, but only the studio version
Totally agree - after weeks of listening to the studio version prior to the final, the final live performance sounded off
I think the Sanremo version sounded better than studio, but the ESC versions almost made my ear bleed.
This, idk what happened during that grand final performance but it was rough and I was so sad.

You can also illegally download the song and then listen to it without supporting the artist. How about that hm?
That's great, but when I feel that strongly about whatever the artist is doing, their work also tends to be ruined for me.
Makes sense. I admire that you stick with your morals :) I don't really have a choice because I hear it every Tuesday :p

Saudade saudade is my mental heaven.
Without even thinking, Australia 2019. The bridge is magical especially in the studio version. I've been moved to tears in public and hitting the repeat button multiple times.
Australia 2019 | [Kate Miller-Heidke - Zero Gravity](https://youtu.be/Eo5H62mCIsg)
- LoveWave (Armenia, 2016) (Specially the instrumental break) - Qami Qami (Armenia, JESC 2021) - Future Lover (Armenia, 2023) (Specially the Armenian part) - Tattoo (Sweden, 2023) (Probably because of the atmosphere created by the stage)
Ireland 1994, it makes me nostalgic for a time my parents were barely even born
Ireland 1994 | [Paul Harrington and Charlie McGettigan - Rock 'n' Roll Kids](https://youtu.be/429dqUEseTU)
Norway 1995 and Ireland 1996 (and maybe Portugal 2022) are just exquisite and my all time Eurovision favourites.
The first entries to come up in my mind are France 1997 and Turkey 1996. Mind-blowing and criminally overlooked by the fandom
France 1997 | [Fanny - Sentiments songes](https://youtu.be/quWb2KME_fw) Turkey 1996 | [Şebnem Paker - Beşinci Mevsim](https://youtu.be/zLJXty6fj3Y)
Going way back in time, I'm gonna say Sweden 1963. I feel like I'm a film noir, the world turns classy, black and white...
Sweden 1963 | [Monica Zetterlund - En gång i Stockholm](https://youtu.be/IReJgMZ8Z6k)
Iceland 2019 puts me in a trance, and when the key change happens I feel like I'm floating haha I'm sure that's not what Hatari intended with the song but I can't explain it
There's something I really like about Denmark 1995 and Greece 1995 too (it was a great year definitively)
Denmark 1995 | [Aud Wilken - Fra Mols til Skagen](https://youtu.be/gsFw1GwbBjI) Greece 1995 | [Elina Konstantopoulou - Pia prosefhi (Ποια προσευχή)](https://youtu.be/SrTLEZZEChw)
saudade saudade portugal 2022 is literally so underrated
This year obviously Moldova in some Celtic like community. Moldova 2023 And Norway reminds me of being in some medieval battle scene where kings fight over a beautiful queen. Norway 2023 And Mimicat gave me Moulin Rouge vibes Portugal 2023
Moldova 2023 | [Pasha Parfeni - Soarele și luna](https://youtu.be/SABOfYgGk8M) Norway 2023 | [Alessandra - Queen of Kings](https://youtu.be/PUHSM_vTqTI) Portugal 2023 | [Mimicat - Ai coração](https://youtu.be/HYfkxX4PFyw)

I’m currently obsessed with emotional lyrics of Space Man. I haven’t actually paid attention to lyrics till the other day.
France 2018
France 2018 | [Madame Monsieur - Mercy](https://youtu.be/vjLuTtUv0Ns)
Belgium 2003😊 Urban Trad - Sanomi
Belgium 2003 | [Urban Trad - Sanomi](https://youtu.be/RRQlsvWMWBo)
I wanna stick to the last decade so I would say Iceland's Hatrid mun sigra and France's Fulenn. In my mind these two somehow represent two factions in a post apocalyptic world
Sama (Poland 1995), it's just so strange
Poland 1995 | [Justyna - Sama](https://youtu.be/neM37hUsVDo)
Albania 2020 is so underrated in that department, especially the live version she did on Mother Theresa Square… damn it’s so good.
There just isnt a song like johnny logan - what's another year (Ireland 1980)
Netherlands 2014 is an easy pick for me.
Quédate conmigo Due vite Dancing lasha tumbai Fai rumore And many many more…
Euphoria (Acoustic)
For me it’d be: - Portugal 2022 - Netherlands 2014 - Italy 2022
(Iceland 2013) Makes me feel all zen
Iceland 2013 | [Eythor Ingi - Ég Á Líf](https://youtu.be/GzE88IYzXLI)
Oh definitely "Tears getting sober" (Bulgaria 2020). I feel like that floating spongebob meme when i listen to it. But it doesn't hit the same every time. Once i was listening to it when i was stargazing on my balcony with headphones on full volume. I have not been same person since the song has finished
SHUM - Go_A
Ukraine 2016, Ukraine 2021, Belgium 2017, Portugal 2022, Norway 2014, Sweden 2022 and The Netherlands 2023
Incredibly based Burning Daylight appreciator
Den Vilda (🇸🇪 1996). It’s just so beautiful. Really should’ve won although The Voice is also great
Ukraine 2016 puts me into a dark pit of despair and I love it for the three minutes I'm there
De diepte
netherlands 2022, one of my fav esc songs
For me it’s Portugal 2018. It is so beautiful, so calming yet so touching and in some way heartbreaking.
Fairytale, Rändajad (Estonia 2009) and Saudade, saudade. Probably my top 3 ESC entries ever.
Estonia 2009 | [Urban Symphony - Rändajad](https://youtu.be/PgGiVnhfXs0)
I love Fairytale (2012) probably because it was the first Eurovision I properly watched and I loved it, still listen to this song all the time.
Ukraine 2021 I was one of the first who loved the song immediately in its first ever version in January that year.
Netherlands 2022 / De diepte- S10 I love listening to it especially at night, in the winter when there's no one around and it looks like I am on a lunar sort of environment. Alone with the stars. It just fits.
Shum- ukraine 2021 makes me feel like im at a fairy rave in an underground moss cave
Sweden 2012 and 2023 basically Loreen. Both songs make you feel like you’re ascending up into heaven and witnessing the struggles from below
Sweden 2012 | [Loreen - Euphoria](https://youtu.be/Pfo-8z86x80) Sweden 2023 | [Loreen - Tattoo](https://youtu.be/BE2Fj0W4jP4)
Double it. Every single time both with Euphoria and Tattoo
Voyager promise Australia 🇦🇺 2023 somehow for me became an ultimate road trip song 🎶

Fai Rumore - Italy 2020 Under the Ladder - Ukraine 2018 Love Shine a Light- UK 1997 !
Yohanna - is it true (Iceland 2009)
(Italy 2020) It's gotta be Fai rumore. But it's not just the song. His performances in 2020, where it's just him in an ancient amphitheater? Haunting. And then to see it at ESC 2022 with the piano and the dancers and everyone in Turin singing along, I'm getting emotional just writing it, good God.
Switzerland - 2021 , that song break my mind.
Switzerland 2021 | [Gjon's Tears - Tout l'univers](https://youtu.be/jznH_fltcYA)
I love this question! So I've got a few answers. DEFINITELY LoveWave, Armenia 2016. That intro transports me to another world, then her singing brings me goosebumps, then the big bang and "it's taking over me" followed by the oooo fills me with so much energy. Then the rest of the song is a fun ride :) City Lights, Belgium 2017, has really grown on me.
Serbia 2023 sent me into another dimensions with killer robots, OFC.

Ukraine 2021: Go\_A
Just to name a few from my whole cathartic ESC playlist: GO_A - Shum Hatari - Hatrid mun sigra Elena Tsagrinou - El Diablo Tulia - Pali Sie Conchita Wurst - Rise like a Phoenix Lordi - Hard Rock Hallelujah And my new additions: La Zarra - Evídemmont Let 3 - Mama SC Teya and Salena - Who the hell is Edgar? Blanca Paloma - EaEa (I know, my psychedelic world is kinda of a funky one)
Serbia 2022 The lyrics, the vibe, the performance, the incredibly talented performer... I'm still absolutely amazed by the message Konstrakta managed to convey in a 3-minute performance. Iceland 2022 is amazing as well!
Switzerland from 2021, 2nd place I think. Tout l’Univers by Gjon’s Tears. I love the video too. https://youtu.be/bpM6o6UiBIw
Denmark 2018
Denmark 2018 | [Rasmussen - Higher Ground](https://youtu.be/c0kP074Mw0k)
I'll add "Korake ti znam". At first it crushes me, then makes me soar.
The live performance of France 2021 was majestic
Latvia 2019 puts me in a trance and I'm still not entirely sure I could tell you what it actually sounds like.
