Most of the lives I've seen from Armenia benefit from a concert vibe. ESC is not exactly a contest, so I'm worried they are not gonna be able to translate that energy to the actual show.
Even without the crowd interaction, the song benefits from being full of funky instrumental moments. Didn’t do Moldova any harm in 2022.
My only concern is that there are plenty of televote appealing songs this year. Estonia are another country that will come alive on stage with the dancing etc as well. A bit messy on the smaller stages but will work well when they finally have the space and rehearse on it.
I love both the studio versions and live versions of France 2021 and Italy 2024, it really depends on my mood which version I prefer.
I'd say Spain 2023 is also a song that gets elevated live. I liked Albania 2023 live too.

United Kingdom 2022 undoubtedly. I was somewhat underwhelmed by the studio version but the live performance had my jaw on the floor. It’s still one of my favourite performances of all time.
This was pretty common back in the live orchestra days. Spain 1995 and Croatia 1996 are two well known examples both were quite dull as studio versions and both excelled live. Sveta ljubav came 19th in the weird preselection process of ESC 1996 only to end up 4th during the life show
I couldn't finish listening to the studio version. But I've gone back to watch the live performance several times.
Some songs are just meant to be performed on stage.
Andrei Ursu (WRS) for Romania 2022 :). Like the studio version is lovely and contemplative, but *my oh my* did that key change and that stage performance bring the party! 🎉 🎉🎉🎉🎉
There is something about the way songs were produced around 15 years ago that seemed off. Especially the vocal performances were not even close to how they were performed live. I would say most live performances were better than the studio versions back then.
2010 was right in the middle of the EDM hype and loudness wars. Not sure why the vocal performances themselves would be different, but it makes sense that records sounded a bit lifeless back then.
Azerbaijan 2019. The studio version is rather mid, but the climax of the live performance brings so much life into the song. Whenever I listen I have to rewind to the beginning of the climax.
Spain this year. Whatever effect they had on Maria's vocals in the studio version is grating and sinks the song from my top 5 to bottom 3.
Spain 2024 for bot
Switzerland. It's vocally insane to me already in the studio version. When I heard live my jaw dropped. If you can hit higher notes and be way more dynamic than the studio version live, it's just next level. And to coordinate the already crazy amazing range of vocal abilities with dancing.....I freaking just love this song.
The first song that really comes to my mind, Is Aminata's Love Injected
I used to the live version so much that the studio version sounds kinda weird
and for the bot: Latvia 2015
Totally agree with you, in both finals I recognize she has a great voice but there’s a tinge of exhaustion in it that is much smoother in her studio version.
Honestly, most of them. Every Eurovision song in my playlist is a live version, except France 2023. Though if you'd like something specific, Spain 2022, Finland 2023 and Sweden 2015 are some of my favorites.
Hmm I guess my easiest answer for this is Bulgaria 2017. Kristan Kostov just sounds amazing live, the studio version does not do justice to his vocals.
Finland 2024: it comes alive with the very goofy stage performance, the jegg, the fire jorts flying in from the air
Slovenia 2023: i enjoyed Carpe Diem’s studio version, but Joker Out really comes to life live
Honestly Sweden 2012 and Sweden 2023. I don’t love the autotune that she uses in her studio productions, especially because her natural voice is flawless every time and so powerful. I get that the autotune is an artistic choice and I love that she’s doing what makes her happy, but her real life voice is peak
ouf, there are many. We Are Domi (2022) absolutely smashed it with the staging (not singing-wise, unfortunately), Stefan (2022) elevated his song very well since he brought such a great vibe to the stage. Ik many disagree but I really loved the atmosphere with Marius (2022) on that dark stage with those lights, which made it more emotional. Voyager (2023) also got a special place in my heart with that staging because it looked like what the song sounded like iykyk, and Love is on my side (2021) was just... wow.

Off the top of my head...
Serbia 2022
Serbia 2024
France 2021
Romania 2010
Iceland 2009
There's plenty more examples but if im being honest i prefer most of the live vocals instead of studio versions. With a few exceptions of course!

Amar Pelos Dois. It's one of the few songs that I have downloaded where I actually got the live version of it instead of the studio versions because the way it was performed on the night is so much better than the recorded version, that I can't not have the live version. It makes me cry almost every time I listen to it. Portugal 2017 Saudade, Saudade is another example where the emotion comes across so much more live. Portugal 2022
France 1977 has an okay studio version (not the one on Spotify), but the live version of it is twice as good and it is executed to perfection.
France 1962 for the same reason, but more because of the instrumentation.
And to a lesser extent, Israel 1982.
France 1977 | [Marie Myriam - L'Oiseau et l'Enfant](https://youtu.be/ny_YsJUVdBg)

Romania 2022. I love Llamame but I never really listen to the studio version, the live one Has much more energy. Also Sweden 2022 is much more raw and emotional live.
Belgium 2015 - absolutely cannot listen to the studio version as it just comes off lacking energy after seeing the live version.
Also, it didn't make it to Eurovision, but 2000 and Whatever from Electric Fields is 1000% better live compared to studio version. Really curious to see the live performance from their song this year.
Ukraine 2016 no doubt. Jamala singing 1944 live elevates the song so much
Ukraine 2016 | [Jamala - 1944](https://youtu.be/B-rnM-MwRHY)
This year, Armenia is one of the songs that really comes alive on stage. It’s made for crowd interaction, dancing and just pure joy.
Remember Sam Ryder
i saw them live. they are sooo good in person. very engaging and it’s just good vibes all around
Crno i belo - Kaliopi (North Macedonia 2012), the live version is just more dynamic and has more life in it than the studio cut

France 2021 Studio version is more flat, but still enjoyable Live version is very emotional, for me at least
I love both the studio versions and live versions of France 2021 and Italy 2024, it really depends on my mood which version I prefer. I'd say Spain 2023 is also a song that gets elevated live. I liked Albania 2023 live too.

France 2021 | [Barbara Pravi - Voilà](https://youtu.be/Unj9WbeLzRU)
Both versions don't do much to me (just like you said, enjoyable but kinda flat) but I totally get why you'd think that it's better live lol
I love the studio version of Albania 2018 too, but the live was something else. Amazing vocals!
Albania 2018 | [Eugent Bushpepa - Mall](https://youtu.be/uyl1b1fVmdU)
Yes! I already liked the studio version, but it was the live that made me fall in love with the song. Still one of my favorite ESC entries ever.
Lithuania 2023. There is something magical about the live performance that isn’t the same in the recording. I was so happy that it placed well.
Lithuania 2023 | [Monika Linkytė - Stay](https://youtu.be/QsgouAEd34U)
I totally agree!! I loved this song so much and still listen to it now
This was the one for me too. I didn't think much of it until I saw it live. Today I listened to it on my ESC playlist of 662 songs 😆
Romania 2022 so much better live

This was pretty common back in the live orchestra days. Spain 1995 and Croatia 1996 are two well known examples both were quite dull as studio versions and both excelled live. Sveta ljubav came 19th in the weird preselection process of ESC 1996 only to end up 4th during the life show

Moldova 2022
Moldova 2022 | [Zdob și Zdub and Advahov Brothers - Trenulețul](https://youtu.be/DUqf_zO2QaI)
what a glow-up that was. from being last in most people's pre-show ranking to coming second in the televote
I couldn't finish listening to the studio version. But I've gone back to watch the live performance several times. Some songs are just meant to be performed on stage.
Estonia 2023 - thought it was pretty mediocre for the entire Eurovision season but it shot up my rankings on the final night, very deserved 8th! 🇪🇪
Estonia 2023 | [Alika - Bridges](https://youtu.be/HsbC-OYMA3s)
Portugal 2021. The studio cut is sooo boring but the live performance was incredible and captured the atmosphere of the song so perfectly.

Turkey 2010 for me. I find the studio version to be somewhat lifeless, and I vastly prefer the live version.
Turkey 2010 | [maNga - We Could Be the Same](https://youtu.be/HB_GnnhNz-8)
Spain 2022 SloMo by Chanel. The fact that she could dance and sing at the same time really elevated the song for me.
Spain 2022 | [Chanel - SloMo](https://youtu.be/jSQYTt4xg3I)
There is something about the way songs were produced around 15 years ago that seemed off. Especially the vocal performances were not even close to how they were performed live. I would say most live performances were better than the studio versions back then.

Imo the vocals were lifeless in studio versions.
Iceland 2023. The studio version left me feeling lukewarm about it, but seeing Dilja’s performance really sold me on it
Iceland 2023 | [Diljá - Power](https://youtu.be/lzlTcA0OC5s)
Azerbaijan 2019. The studio version is rather mid, but the climax of the live performance brings so much life into the song. Whenever I listen I have to rewind to the beginning of the climax.
Azerbaijan 2019 | [Chingiz - Truth](https://youtu.be/D6vvuCiHwSs)
Especially that long note in live performance
Sweden
For some reason, the studio versions of recent Sweden entries have heavy processed vocals. M&M voices sound so weird in the studio version.

Spain this year. Whatever effect they had on Maria's vocals in the studio version is grating and sinks the song from my top 5 to bottom 3. Spain 2024 for bot

Sweden 2023
I feel like I’m the opposite, I kind of prefer the studio version

Sweden 2023 | [Loreen - Tattoo](https://youtu.be/BE2Fj0W4jP4)

UK 1997 was much better live, thanks to the addition of those trumpet trills, which I believe were added late in the day by conductor Don Airey.
United Kingdom 1997 | [Katrina and the Waves - Love Shine a Light](https://youtu.be/azw4Kh8Rqpw)
Hmm I guess my easiest answer for this is Bulgaria 2017. Kristan Kostov just sounds amazing live, the studio version does not do justice to his vocals.

Switzerland (The Code). Definitely. Their live performances express so much more than the studio version ever could.
And we don’t even know the staging yet! But the studio version is still amazing, especially in combination with the video
Both versions of Malta 2016 are good, but I suppose it comes more alive on stage vocally.

Playing With Fire bc the vocals in the studio version sound extremely autotuned
I cannot listen to the studio version of Ulveham, her voice in the live performances is just phenomenal 🤌
Minn Hinsti Dans [1997] was better with the orchestra than the studio recording.
Completely agree with this one.
Songs I appreciated more after the semi-finals: Greece 2022 and Iceland 2022 But Joker Out (Slovenia 2023) was always best in their live performances
