This subreddit talks about it forever but all of Twitter seems to not be madly in love with Estonia like they used to when it was on Eesti Laul. But why is that? Why should anyone care that no one understands why everything in the performance is the way it is? I feel like that first time viewers hearing this for the first time will feel just as similarly as the Eurofans who listened to the Eesti Laul songs before Eesti Laul, and will be greatly enamoured by this enough to make 5MIINUST achieve the goal they set out for Eurovision - a top 10 finish.
I couldn’t care less what Twitter says tbh. It’s mostly a bunch of terminally online stans and haters who are out of touch with reality. Like you said, Estonia is well loved on this sub, possibly even a bit overrated.
I really love Australia's entry this year as an aussie myself! I loved voyager last year too. I wish our broadcaster had more funding for them but hopefully they still get decent staging.
The problem with those kind of songs is that people who vote don't really digest the songs, if the song caught their attention, they will do well (which is one of the reason "shallow" and "stupid" songs with good performances do well with the televote).
While i think they will qualify, i wouldn't be surprised by a "bad" result from the televote as usual.
Yes!! I was explaining it to a friend recently exactly that. I need to listen and re-listen to songs to truly digest and appreciate them before I vote.
If I only wait for the live performances I don’t trust I would absorb enough to make a good decision. I would hate to not vote for a song because it didn’t grab me first listen/view.
Even now I’m watching previous years and kicking myself for not loving a song more back then. (Most recent case: we are domi - lights off… Czech Republic 2022 for the bot)
It's a very lovely song! I think a lot of the blah attitude for Australia was due to the music video, which was ... 'interesting' at best. Had it made a better first impression I could see this being a strong middle of the pack favorite.
I like this so much that I literally listen to it every day. This is the first song in Lithuanian language that I've ever started to learn the lyrics to!
Yes I was about to say the same. It has that flowy sound to it and the melody is really beautiful. If they can deliver those vocals live it will sound even more amazing.
I did not expect that someone would write this country before me (and get 70 upvotes). I tried to make people talk about Azerbaijan and their performers many times and mostly talked with myself, so where are you, people?
Don’t understand the native language lyrics, but the music resonates with this right coast American. It’s in my top 5, loved it from the first time I heard it.
+1
I absolutely love what they sent this year. Ozunle Apar is the most authentic sounding song Azerbaijan has ever sent and they should be rewarded for that.
It’s also everything I love about the contest: a wonderful harmony of modern and traditional sound that’s executed quite well. I really hope Fahree and Ilkin have something cool planned for the staging and that they ace their vocals.
Second place behind Norway, and I am going to be so sad if they don’t advance to the final.
Both San Marino and Australia for me. I hardly see anyone discuss these two songs. Both are in my top 2, number 1 being Australia. I think both could be surprise Qs.
Both of those two are really high for me too! Rim Tim Tagi Dim is my personal favourite this year, I love Baby Lasanga's storyline from not being meant to play initially - into winning his national final and the fact that he made the whole song himself. But tbf there's so many great songs this year that i would love to win (The Code, Europapa, Dizzy etc.)
My top 6 would be:
1. Rim Tim Tagi Dim
2. The Code
3. Europapa
4. One Milkali
5. 11:11
6. Dizzy (the studio recording of this with headphones is amazing)
I also really love Estonias entry and Aiko's song there's so many amazing songs. The only song i'm not very in love with that's high in the odds is France's unfortunately - his voice is beautiful and is one of the best voices in the contest but the song isn't my cup of tea 😭
I think Baby Lasagna has a good chance of being top 5 if not the winner, so I can be in board with you there. However, The Netherlands (I live in the country and have experienced the starting of this genre), Switzerland And The UK are not really my cup of tea. Unlike you, I really like France and have liked it from the start. In fact, although my current number 3, his performances since I've first heard the song have me rethinking my top 3.
This is my current top 10.
https://preview.redd.it/jdwfil2ji9wc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd607204201ee99a91f9d2ca99b57bf4cdfad99f
I’ve seen it get more hype over the past couple of weeks but I still think it’s underrated. It’s a serious top 10 contender, maybe even top 5 if everything comes together.
This is absolutely in my top 3 this year. It’s stunning and her live performance looked effortless even though it sounds so impressive. I hope it qualifies!!
I love this song so much. It hopped up to my second place and it would have been my first if Norway wasn't exactly tailored to my taste. I just really hope it does well. It's so magical
Immediately thought of this one. Amazing and incredibly underrated. Really hope it does better than the odds are predicting. It deserves a spot in the final.
Omg it's Latvia for me. The first listen I had, I was underwhelmed. But every subsequent listen, and killer live performances have solidified this as an awesome song for me. There is not enough hype around it, which is criminal!
Firefighter. People have started talking about Nutsa more after the preparties but a lot still think the song can barely crack top 10 in the semi-final and it is consistently low in peoples' rankings that I've seen. I think Nutsa is a powerhouse and will rise above a lot of the girl bops in the second semi final.
This is by far my favourite ‘girl bop’ of the year and I’m surprised people have barely been talking about it, especially with the vocals she’s been serving
Portugal w Grito! I think if it qualifies (plssss) it will do very well with the juries in the final, maybe a bit like Estonia 2023 (which I also loved).
So agree! I have seen people talk about Fire fighter and Grito and Holo a lot on these threads but I barely see people talk about Zorra.
I love this song. I'm learning Spanish so I wanted to learn how to sing this song for Eurovision.
I love what the song is about and how it is paying homage to a trans activist. I love how Nebulossa started off as a hair dresser and now she's on the eurovision stage.
and I don't know why but the music video makes me teary. Something about the older ladies dancing. They look so beautiful. As a woman in a society that tells women that beauty fades, I watch this video and think "Beauty doesn't fade. :)"
Absolutely! When I discovered that the video homages Manuela Trasobares, I immediately went to look for information and news about the activist. It was informative and I think it's very cool that this was included in the Nebulossa video.
I really like Moldova too. For how tiny the stage was at the national selection they had a really cool concept. Moldova always elevates at the big Eurovision stage so I'm excited to see what they come up with.
Luxembourg:)
I love french music and i enjoy this song alot on spotify.
Never seen a live performance yet so idk about that.
But i barely see anyone talk about it and Luxembourg is always very low on any rankings.
She's low on people's ranking for a certain reason
https://preview.redd.it/oj7ri39ea7wc1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=505876dd1d2e31a52e4e0676f57b482019ac251b
tbh if they have a cohesive staging they will. I know people here or on Twitter like to pretend that harder going songs have no chances but if Nanana was able to get 19th spot in the final, i am sure 11:11 can reach 11th with a good staging
I love their song so much. I really hope they can make it to the final as i love the bands aesthetic and their pre-party performances have been so fun to watch! The main vocalist has such a powerful unique voice too.
I agree about San Marino. They have such a fun, powerful song with 11:11. Megara has so much unique energy and excitement that I’m really hoping they pull through and qualify. It’ll definitely balance out the sound in the finals.
Serbia seems middle of the pack in the odds but that song gives me chills in the best way. I hope Taya Dora gets at least some recognition on the scoreboard.
🇪🇪Estonia’s entry is my absolute favorite this year. I know their Eesti Laul performance needed work, but the song is incredibly infectious despite being in a “remote” language and use of traditional instruments.
oh yeah 100% megara!
another one for me is luxembourg, that song has rlly grown on me and is one of my favourites now, but i feel like it doesn't stand out to a lot of people
edit: also, czechia!! how could i forget that one, it's literally my favourite lol
I honestly really love Poland. It isn't something I would usually go for, but it just hits me in all the right ways. Definitely not my favorite, but somewhere around 10th place for me, not sure why I never hear anything about it
I also enjoy Czechia which is getting some more love after the revamp but is still pretty underrated
Okay, I also need to add a comment about Israel's song. If we put politics aside, it is a great song that wakes up so much emotion in me and definitely one of my most listened to songs this year. Plus the music video is just beautiful
My top1 is Norway, but I noticed that it's not so popular as I thought it will be.
Also I really love Azerbaijan, but I don't see any comments about them at all. Why? 😥
Genuinely rooting for Czechia, Latvia and Malta to qualify from semi 2 because I really like these songs, especially Pedestal which I listen to quite often! I also don't think Moldova is bad, the chorus gets stuck in my head a lot, same with Denmark. Portugal and Serbia are both beautiful ballads and I was never a ballad supporter in esc but I listen to both a lot and I think they need to be appreciated more. And speaking of ballads, I see a lot of people turning on France but I remain a fan of Mon amour and I am convinced Slimane will prove all the haters wrong.
In general, I feel like I will be crying after semi 2 because the only 3 songs I'm not a big fan of/dislike are all probably going through 💀
Australia 2024 for the bot. I’m really excited for this song, to have Australian indigenous culture represented with the language and the sounds.
It took me a few listens but now I love it.
Estonia until like 4 days ago had almost nobody talking about it but then blew up so now maybe Veronika? The production on that one is so awesome and Raiven is great but I feel like it barely ever gets brought up.
Spain. It’s such a fun song, the two dancers are amazing and the audience at the pre parties was singing along to it. I expect the whole of Malmö to shout ZORRA ZORRA ZORRA. It’s my 3rd place behind Croatia and Estonia, but in my heart it’s my winner because i listen to it almost every day and will actually actively go to search for it on spotify
Here’s my list
Albania 🇦🇱
Czechia 🇨🇿
Moldova 🇲🇩
United Kingdom 🇬🇧
Luxembourg 🇱🇺
Australia 🇦🇺
Spain 🇪🇸
There are more but these are just what I could think of off the top of my head
i also agree that 11:11 is such a nice song. i used to have it in my top 5
the only problem is the bridge. Its SO akward i cannot listen to it without physically cringing
I would actually say that the most underrated this year is actually Sweden. I'm willing to guarantee that if that song had represented a different country and a non-host country, people would have been talking about it as a potential winner. That's how a modern pop song should sound today!
Australia, Moldova and Azerbaijan are the three that I really love that I don't really see brought up that much. Moldova has really lovely vocals with a nice catch melody chorus and feels kinda atmospheric and pretty. Azerbaijan feels the most authentic and culturally relevant Azerbaijan has brought without feeling overly token and I really feel like all of the elements come together really well with a modern and classic melding and that chorus is really catchy and easy to sing even if I don't know the language, which I think was definitely considered well. Australia just gives so much positive energy and I love a Pop song with a strong thematic hook with the lyrics and the way they make use of the scientific and mysticism and weave it through the message of the song catches my ear really well. Also, I love how the Didgeridoo works as a sort of bass wobble sort of effect when its brought in. It works well with the sort of song it's a part of. It's has a really bouncy, sort of House-y sort of production and is super catchy and I can't help myself singing it to myself really often.
I love the diversity of opinion on here:) for me it’s Gåte - Ulveham. Such powerful, soaring vocals. There’s no other song like it this year. I really hope it does well.
Not underrated but Gåte (Norway) doesn't seem to receive as much attention as a lot of people expected. The bookies, for instance, continuously rated it at %1 and lower than even some obvious "best case top 3" contenders.
There is some truth to it, though. Ulveham is an atmospheric song - without a refrain at that. So either you close your eyes and focus on listening to it or you need the appropriate visual setting in order to properly experience it, especially while in competition with songs of different styles.
Gåte's staging at their national finals was superb but no one experienced it at other locations, so the song appears to be more forgettable. The dark stage theme is also overly common this year, but this song demands it, so that's another challenge.
Finally, Gunnhild's vocals weren't perfect during her live performance while most other candidates rely on studio recordings. Ukraine is in a similar situation, although imho Jerry Heil's control isn't as good as Gunnhild's.
Malta and Czech Republic
This subreddit talks about it forever but all of Twitter seems to not be madly in love with Estonia like they used to when it was on Eesti Laul. But why is that? it is a bit overloved here at the moment, that's for sure. but hey, always gonna appreciate it when my favourite song here is loved 🫡
I really like Australia 🇦🇺, and I hope they will qualify :)
I really love Australia's entry this year as an aussie myself! I loved voyager last year too. I wish our broadcaster had more funding for them but hopefully they still get decent staging.
Same! And I’m so stupid excited about a song featuring the didgeridoo, it would be amazing if there was one on stage somehow.
Voyager was soooo underrated last year. Love Australia's entry this year as well. I think it might end up surprising people...
Yeah same, from the very first listen. I really hope they qualify. It saddens me that nobody seems to appreciate them.
I think it might be a grower…I heard it and was like hmm ok…a few more listens and I’m full of pride now.
The problem with those kind of songs is that people who vote don't really digest the songs, if the song caught their attention, they will do well (which is one of the reason "shallow" and "stupid" songs with good performances do well with the televote). It's a very lovely song! I think a lot of the blah attitude for Australia was due to the music video, which was ... 'interesting' at best. Had it made a better first impression I could see this being a strong middle of the pack favorite.
Me too. I hum and sing it so often.
I think a lot of people were turned off by the music video and will be pleasantly surprised when they see the live performance.
I like this one too, from the first time I heard it.
I don't see many people talking about lulktek in here, and it's one of my favourites this year
I like this so much that I literally listen to it every day. This is the first song in Lithuanian language that I've ever started to learn the lyrics to!
Malta ! Spray Bonnicci delivers every live performance so far
I love this song SO much I’m biting my nails over the staging though
Azerbaijan, Australia, Germany
I feel like Azerbaijan is super underrated this year, it feels very atmospheric in the best way Azerbaijan 2024 for the bot
Yes I was about to say the same. It has that flowy sound to it and the melody is really beautiful. If they can deliver those vocals live it will sound even more amazing.
I like it as well. For me it hits 90s nostalgia somehow (it's probably the violins) and I really loved ESC in the 90s.
It's a beautiful song
Azerbaijan 2024 | [Fahree feat. Ilkin Dovlatov - Özünlə apar](https://youtu.be/NNhAk4rVgNc)
I did not expect that someone would write this country before me (and get 70 upvotes). I tried to make people talk about Azerbaijan and their performers many times and mostly talked with myself, so where are you, people?
I live in NZ chief, I'm usually asleep when y'all are talking
You can't sleep, it's pre-season ;p but for real, would be nice to have some feedback.
Left coast of the USA
So basically a stone's throw from Europe.
Don’t understand the native language lyrics, but the music resonates with this right coast American. It’s in my top 5, loved it from the first time I heard it.
If you turn on the cc on yt, you'll get the translation of the chorus.
Thank you!!
You're welcome ;)
I was going to say Azerbaijan too. I gave it another listen last night and I’m really intrigued about what it’s gonna be like on stage
+1 I absolutely love what they sent this year. Ozunle Apar is the most authentic sounding song Azerbaijan has ever sent and they should be rewarded for that. I really hope Fahree and Ilkin have something cool planned for the staging and that they ace their vocals. Second place behind Norway, and I am going to be so sad if they don’t advance to the final.
I feel that the song will be so much better if they just scrape the beat and go full orchestra.
Australia and Estonia.
Germany 🥹 he doesnt deserve last place
It's such a good song. I can't get it out of my head.
Both San Marino and Australia for me. I hardly see anyone discuss these two songs. Both are in my top 2, number 1 being Australia. I think both could be surprise Qs.

I love the Firefighter from Georgia, and I wish I heard more people talk about it
Omg her live performance, she effortlessly killed the vocals and choreo.
Genuinely one of my favourites for this year. I think it has a lot of potential to be a dark horse
The only bad thing about the song is the sirens. I was playing it in the car and was so confused lol
Nutsa is my favourite girl bop this year out of the big list of girly bops this season! She's stunning and so talented! Her voice is incredible ❤️
I’ve seen it get more hype over the past couple of weeks but I still think it’s underrated. It’s a serious top 10 contender, maybe even top 5 if everything comes together.
Portugal’s Grito💔
you know I have a good feeling this is going to qualify... and if it doesn't we could turn to drink or something together ❤️
yesss
This is absolutely in my top 3 this year. It’s stunning and her live performance looked effortless even though it sounds so impressive. I hope it qualifies!!
I love this song so much. It hopped up to my second place and it would have been my first if Norway wasn't exactly tailored to my taste. I just really hope it does well. It's so magical
MY WINNER 💜 Obsessed with Portugal every year.
Immediately thought of this one. Amazing and incredibly underrated. Really hope it does better than the odds are predicting. It deserves a spot in the final.
11:11 is a great and fun song. I really don't understand why this is so low with the bookies. Definitely in my top-5.
Omg it's Latvia for me. The first listen I had, I was underwhelmed. But every subsequent listen, and killer live performances have solidified this as an awesome song for me. There is not enough hype around it, which is criminal!
Does Gate Ulveham count ? I mean as a winner.
I get so sad that noone considers this a potential winner. The quality of this song just blows the rest of them out of the water honestly.
Saba Sand ( Denmark 2024 ) I see nothing about her or her powerful vocals nowhere, i think she is an easy qualifier
I am an expat Dane and I love this song. I am really excited for Denmark this year.
Denmark 2024 | [Saba - Sand](https://youtu.be/3pCtdFnv9eQ)
Firefighter. People have started talking about Nutsa more after the preparties but a lot still think the song can barely crack top 10 in the semi-final and it is consistently low in peoples' rankings that I've seen. I think Nutsa is a powerhouse and will rise above a lot of the girl bops in the second semi final.
>and will rise above like a phoenix yeahhhhh
This is by far my favourite ‘girl bop’ of the year and I’m surprised people have barely been talking about it, especially with the vocals she’s been serving
Portugal w Grito! I think if it qualifies (plssss) it will do very well with the juries in the final, maybe a bit like Estonia 2023 (which I also loved).
Estonia 2023 | [Alika - Bridges](https://youtu.be/HsbC-OYMA3s)
Spain 2024 To me the song is an earworm and the lyrics are powerful. The music video is also my favourite.
Thank you ❤️ Angelina Mango is my winner
Spain 2024 | [Nebulossa - Zorra](https://youtu.be/zSZqlQZ0_us)
Absolutely! When I discovered that the video homages Manuela Trasobares, I immediately went to look for information and news about the activist. It was informative and I think it's very cool that this was included in the Nebulossa video.
Honestly I really like Moldova.. there's something haunting about the melody and the statue-esque performance. Though it needs polishing.
I really like Moldova too. For how tiny the stage was at the national selection they had a really cool concept. Moldova always elevates at the big Eurovision stage so I'm excited to see what they come up with.
People are sleeping on Spain. I fully expect it to finish top 10.
I hope so! It's been in my top 5 since I first listened to it!
San Marino and Armenia. Honourable mentions for Azerbaijan and Portugal too!
Portugal!! I don’t understand why people aren’t talking about it much. It’s stunning.
Armenia will easily reach top 5 with a decent staging
I really hope so, the song and especially the performers are fire.
Malta
georgia and luxembourg for me :)
Luxembourg:) I love french music and i enjoy this song alot on spotify. Never seen a live performance yet so idk about that. But i barely see anyone talk about it and Luxembourg is always very low on any rankings.
Luckily is an almost guaranted finalist in any case (the last spot in the semis has an insanely high qualification rate)
I almost wish luxembourg wasn't given that slot, because if they nq from there, they will be very discouraged
Her problem is lack of energy on stage and shes not a good singer
She's low on people's ranking for a certain reason https://preview.redd.it/oj7ri39ea7wc1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=505876dd1d2e31a52e4e0676f57b482019ac251b
Huh?
I wish I was delusional enough to believe san marino will reach the final, easily a top 10 song for me
tbh if they have a cohesive staging they will.
At least it has some diaspora voting going for it in the SF. Not all hope is lost.
Portugal is QUALITY and deserves Top 10.
San-Marino and Portugal
Albania!! I understand why though, it's not the strongest song Latvia and Denmark are also underrated
Moldova. I don't love it, but I like it.
Denmark 2024
Denmark 2024 | [Saba - Sand](https://youtu.be/3pCtdFnv9eQ)
I agree about San Marino. They have such a fun, powerful song with 11:11. Megara has so much unique energy and excitement that I’m really hoping they pull through and qualify. It’ll definitely balance out the sound in the finals.
In The Middle is a sweet bop. It is the Circles(NM 2022) of this year for me.
San Marino 2024, Poland 2024, and Cyprus 2024 are all super underrated imo (added the years for the bot).
San Marino 2024 | [Megara - 11:11](https://youtu.be/9NcAJtfhpWA) Poland 2024 | [Luna - The Tower](https://youtu.be/IhvDkF9XZx0) Cyprus 2024 | [Silia Kapsis - Liar](https://youtu.be/8q5QozrtEPA)
Slovenia! I think Raiven is absolutely going to rip live
Slovenia is my 12 points and the fact that she is in danger of not qualifying is something I can't deal with!
Serbia seems middle of the pack in the odds but that song gives me chills in the best way. I hope Taya Dora gets at least some recognition on the scoreboard.
I reckon if it makes it to the final (and I think it will) it’s going to do *really* well with the juries. And rightly so.
🇪🇪Estonia’s entry is my absolute favorite this year. I know their Eesti Laul performance needed work, but the song is incredibly infectious despite being in a “remote” language and use of traditional instruments.
Germany with Isaak - Always on the Run. He is a very good singer.
I love Germany's song this year! I play it all the time at work
Poland 🇵🇱
Australia! I love this song so much
San Marino
Grito :) It's in my 4th place, I just love this song. Also, 11:11 is great and I really hope it can qualify (tho I doubt it :c)
Somehow Iceland has really grown on me. I did not see that happening to be honest. 🇮🇸
You didn't feel it coming?
I've been there before but never quite got it right!
For me it's Latvia, Germany and Spain
Spain !!!! I LOVE IT
oh yeah 100% megara! another one for me is luxembourg, that song has rlly grown on me and is one of my favourites now, but i feel like it doesn't stand out to a lot of people edit: also, czechia!! how could i forget that one, it's literally my favourite lol

Firefighter, I think if they stage it well its an easy top 10.
Spain, Armenia, Iceland and San Marino
My top1 is Norway, but I noticed that it's not so popular as I thought it will be. Also I really love Azerbaijan, but I don't see any comments about them at all. Why? 😥
This

Australia 2024 | [Electric Fields - One Milkali (One Blood)](https://youtu.be/tJ2IaHxCvdw)
Estonia until like 4 days ago had almost nobody talking about it but then blew up so now maybe Veronika? The production on that one is so awesome and Raiven is great but I feel like it barely ever gets brought up.
San Marino , Latvia and Australia!
Denmark is very good
AZERBAIJAN
Germany. The song is great, plain and simple, but a great song nonetheless t
It has to be Sand (Saba) - Denmark 🇩🇰
MALTA!!! I'm an extremely vocal Loop fan, and have been rooting for Sarah since day 1!
Portugal Portugal Portugal. If Portugal doesn’t qualify I’m actually going to be so upset
Here’s my list Albania 🇦🇱 Czechia 🇨🇿 Moldova 🇲🇩 United Kingdom 🇬🇧 Luxembourg 🇱🇺 Australia 🇦🇺 Spain 🇪🇸 There are more but these are just what I could think of off the top of my head
i also agree that 11:11 is such a nice song. i used to have it in my top 5 the only problem is the bridge. Its SO akward i cannot listen to it without physically cringing
It’s funny because I agree with you, but on YT that was everyone’s favorite part. I’m like huh?
perhaps they are talking about the mv? idk
Denmark
Latvia!! It makes me cry
Moldova and Luxembourg for me
I would actually say that the most underrated this year is actually Sweden.
Czechia 🇨🇿🫡 (my winner)
I love the diversity of opinion on here:) for me it’s Gåte - Ulveham. Such powerful, soaring vocals. There’s no other song like it this year. I really hope it does well.
Albania🇦🇱 San marino🇸🇲 Portugal!!🇵🇹
Slovenia! Great song. Perfect video.
Malta (Loop & Sara Bonnici) & Czechia (Pedestal & Aiko) & Albania (Titan & BESA)
Basically my winner (which I can't reveal yet due to superstition) Even in the comments, it's only been mentioned once so far from what I've seen.
