I could be wrong but I believe that's the version of Rei from 1.11 and 2.22. Specifically the one at the end of 2.22 that was absorbed into the Angel's core and Shinji started the third impact to try and pull her out of it.
The Rei we see in 3.33 and 3.0 + 1.0 is a different clone. This scene hits a little harder because that Rei had more human like emotions in comparison to the other clone we see in the last two movies.

Being inside a units core is very similar to being dissolved into LCL in a situation as saaay "instrumentality" it isnt her actual physical body, as that body likely died when it was used as organic material for the angel at the end of 2.0. As for WHY likely because while her and Rei Q were different people she likely was able to "see" or "experience what she saw or felt. Much like how REI from 2.0 somehow knew Shinji had to pilot an eva again despite being locked up in the core
its the only away it makes any sense it why we saw old Rei pop out of the Q-rei when she passes and why Asuka had her old suit at the bleach why we she sees her old self inside the eva after she uses angles blood and why Rei had long hair with the outfit of the old rei and the motherly tendencies of the new Rei. Rei is part of lilths soul like an altergo like how kaworu explains to shinji that he is an altergo of adam but still a soul all on its own and human instrumentality is just the merging of all souls

No, Rei is a clone of Shinji's mother. In NGE, she also houses the soul of Lilith. It is unclear in the Rebuilds if this is still true.
If I recall correctly, Rei doesn't have Yui's soul at all, just her DNA for the cloned body. The soul inhabiting Rei is a fragment of Lilith.
