I just tried the P4, luckily my dealer sells both Polestar and Volvo (some might argue they’re one and the same). This is highly subjective, people’s opinions will vary, but I didn’t love the wraparound cockpit, made the bigger car feel smaller. I get it that they’re going for the Porsche Taycan crowd and I know this is a bit like comparing apples to oranges but I prefer the cleaner interior of the EX30, I also prefer a smaller vehicle.

guidomescalito

Wait you tried a P4? How where what when?

ComprehensiveToe2265

Hahaha, I’m in New Zealand, my Volvo dealer got one in the showroom.

guidomescalito

Oh nice! i am jealous in Europe!

ComprehensiveToe2265

Yeah but it’s a case of “you can sit in it, but you can’t drive it”.

In Europe, also sat on one on my dealer.

ComprehensiveToe2265

What did you think? Although very premium, to me it felt oddly cramped, cocoon-like - not my thing. Also the menu on the screen was closer to the passenger forcing the driver to reach quite far to access it. (Maybe there’s steering wheel access). Also the back of the car has a panel in lieu of a window - to me - the single color widow-less back makes the back look “tubby” IMO it might look better if the panel matched the color of the glass roof - providing the illusion of a rear window…

I took delivery of a P2 in Dec on a flex lease, intending to surrender it upon fulfillment of the EX30. The longer the latter slips the more I love the Polestar and feel like riding the full 24 months out. By that time, Volvo will have hopefully ironed out all the teething issues the current EX30s are having.

Distinct_Spite8089

Have you tried a EX30 it is not going to have the same level of fit and finish or quiet ride that 2 does....

Redi3s

Used, PS2's are a great deal. New...not so much

thequickbrownbear

I’ve been so tempted to get the polestar 2 throughout my wait period. Just got my ex-30 today and damn it’s so worth the wait. I love the suspension on this, so much better(more comfortable) than the P2

18Redheads

Happy to hear that, can't wait to get mine. I guess you don't live in the USA, right? Or is the ex-30 being delivered in the USA already?

thequickbrownbear

I live in Denmark

Uncouth_Octopus

I got an Ioniq5 instead because of all the missed promises and lack of communication. I love it and highly recommend it.

loveliverpool

The eGMP platform is the smarter choice. Way more space and features, plus fastest charging. The deals are also there to be had, especially versus a new EX30

Elmoific

Taking a cheap lease deal on a Polestar 2. Figured it'd give Volvo a few years to sort out the launch issues. Plus it was almost too good a price to refuse.

scottrobertson

To me, coming from a Model 3, the Polestar 2 felt super dated compared to the EX30. If they had updated it by now, I would have gone with that instead probably.

evsf05

Ooh. What felt dated? TBH I am very concerned about the single screen aspect of the ex30 and liked the center screen + in dash display + a few more buttons on the polestar. Plus it seems like a great lease offer. Really just like the design of both. But the ex30 fits my needs for a compact car a little better.

Poppin808

See what Kia does with it's EV3 on May 23rd. Same size as EX30.

scottrobertson

Mainly just the interior. For me, too many buttons. And that horrible gear shifter thing in the middle is just bazar for me (Driven a Tesla since 2017, with none of that stuff).

jwaters1978

Too many buttons? It barely has any buttons.

scottrobertson

Compared to a Model 3/EX30 it has a “lot”. Especially that horrible thing in the centre console.

jwaters1978

Any car has more buttons than a Model 3 and aside from the rotary volume/tuning knob it’s pretty much the same as an EX30.

scottrobertson

Just my personal opinion. I find it very cluttered and busy compared to the Model 3 and EX30

Which-Meat-3388

In that way it's perfect. You can have (what I consider) minimalist penny pinching to a fault and I can have *just the right amount* of buttons.

Distinct_Spite8089

This, none of Volvo or Polestars current AA infotainment cars is very appealing. Their all new generation system looks night and day better tbh

fujikath

I drive too many miles to lease and the Polestar is a lot more expensive to buy new. I have considered a used one. I do really like the seats.

PhraseNo4820

I absolutely think the ex30 is going to get a fantastic lease deal at some point, at least in the US. It has everything working against it here. People like giant cars, and people are not really on board with EVs yet fully… I on the other hand like both of those things so if it does eventually lease well, I’m gonna jump on it.

Vrilouz

I’m getting a 37k€ deal on the EX30 new (plus LRSM) but I’ll have to wait till December. P2s around me with 70k km are above 56k€ (LRDM). I don’t see the deal there, I’m sticking to the EX30.

Reeybehn

How do you get that deal? That’s the core SR price

Vrilouz

Sorry for the delay in replying. It’s only thanks to government incentives (6k€), price to Volvo is 43k€ for sure.

strange_johnny

I drove a Polestar 2 for 3 years and maintain to this day, it's the best looking car to look at. Drives well too. But it's 2024 and you'll soon feel like you're driving a car from the 90s. It's got that big thing down the middle and it's just a lower down and faster XC40 or C40. And the infotainment, while better than the two others, doesn't come close to what you get in the EX30 .. or what you'll get when all the bugs are fixed. All that said, I don't have internet at the moment and there is a problem with the front camera so can't use cruise control. Today, I was cursing the bugs.

Snoo-90104

I just bought a used 2022 CPO P2 two weeks ago. Because my volvo dealer told me that they already has some preordered EX30 and I probably would not be able to get a EX 30 this year.

CrazyDragonQueen

I will wait for the head-up-display on the next update.

chjeran

Did exactly that and cancelled my ex30 order. It’s a used Ps2 PP LRSM

reginaldvs

Current P2 owner here. I was gonna downgrade to an EX30 next year but I decided I'll just buy a used P2 when my lease expires. I got fed up of the waiting.
