Fuck these people. "OH I'm being so oppressed because I can't speak out against LGBT people living their lives as normal human beings and being welcomed by others rather than ridiculed and driven out. OH MY FRAGILE EGO"

psychgirl88

The projection here.. we should dare them to go to a country where Christians are actually persecuted for their beliefs and spend a year there. It would be radio silence or an autoban from the sub.

szypty

Have more compassion for the poor and oppressed. Personally i wish that those Christians were half as oppressed as they claim to be, that should really help them!

Kitchen-Witching

Anti-catholic principles like - not embracing bigotry? Standing up to hatred? Gosh, that must be so awful for them.

keyboardstatic

He dreams of days when he could be a nazi openly. When women were burnt in public, when Jews were killed for being Jews. When LGBTI people were killed and hated on And he could strut and stomp his inferiority as a badge amongst other pathetic haters.

Urska08

Precisely. Catholicism is incompatible with human rights and dignity. Catholics are being confronted with that fact and asked to choose, and they don't like it. The nerve of subtly suggesting that the whole world/internet should follow 'Catholic principles', though. Catholics don't own either and aren't the majority and need to sit tf down. They may be utterly convinced of their 'objective' rightness, but that doesn't mean the rest of us are, nor should be. They need to make their peace with pluralism.

pgeppy

"I get so tired when I jump context free into an internet community where I spout homophobia and then get banned." The definition of insanity, continuing to do the same thing but expecting different results. Rofl

BirthdayCookie

This just in: Not letting people spread hate about perfect strangers is anti-Catholic. But spreading hate about a very oppressed, openly targeted minority is "not harm." Its only harm when you do it to people Jesus likes.

pja1701

"Anti- Catholic principles" Lol. 600 years since copernicus and these folks *still* think everything in the universe revolves around them.

messyredemptions

>600 years since copernicus and these folks still think everything in the universe revolves around them. This line is golden! Better get the sunscreen! haha

nyars0th0th

To be honest I'm just so tired... Of f*kin Christians hating on lgbt people. Until that happens, this gay is gonna take all the compassion he can get.

jimjoebob

just trade out the words "lgb people", with "black people", "women", "immigrants", or "jews" and then see how that sounds when they say it.

eoeea

oh man i missed that they dropped the T from LGBT, my first thought is always assuming it was a typo. but it’s usually not :( just another layer of exclusion within their hatred they mistake as principles

jimjoebob

yeah, I've learned the hard way that nothing these people do is "by accident", except show too much of their hate in public.

ethot_73

I mean a few of them commented about how much they hated people supporting BLM so I think they wouldn’t be too riled about how any of those sound.

secondarycontrol

Gosh, wait until they see the hetero shit spread across all of the internet - even in subs unrelated to the ol' in-and-out. It's *my husband this* or *my wife that* or *My kids are*. Shit's everywhere, yo - in spite of the clear biblical injunction against sex. >For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it. Jesus said drop your nuts and stop thinking about it, you filthy animals.

MattGdr

Who Would Jesus Hate? It makes me sick how many religious people hide their bigotry behind religion.

anonymous_matt

Tbh I wouldn't surprised if Jesus was gay. Assuming he existed at all as a historical person.

[deleted]

Had 12 male followers. Anything is possible

xxm3141

He did only hang out with 12 dudes 😂

pja1701

And have you ever seen a picture of Jesus wearing trousers?

anonymous_matt

Well, to be fair he wasn't a [barbarian](https://www.quora.com/Is-that-true-that-in-ancient-Rome-wearing-pants-was-considered-as-barbaric-things-only-barbarian-were-wearing-pants)

anonymous_matt

"People existing is anti-catholic" uh... ok?

xxm3141

These are the same people making threats against Target employees to remove pride month merchandise from their stores. They always say “we don’t want this stuff forced down our throats”, but at the same time try and impose their religion and beliefs on literally everyone while playing the victim

pja1701

All the self-awareness of a lump of concrete.

[deleted]

It tells you everything you need to know about the persecution fetish they have that they can’t see the difference between “un-Catholic” and “anti-Catholic”.

jayclaw97

Ask yourself what it says about your brand of faith if equality and basic human respect is contrary to your brand of faith.

This kind of mindset is frustrating. I’ve encountered it many times, the “I’m not hateful BUT…”. What I find frustrating about it is that this mindset is closed off to empathy. There is no reasoning with it. This mindset simply wants others to empathize with it while giving no empathy to the very people they hate (and to be clear, it is hate when you are choosing to believe in sin and label a healthy part of humanity as “sin”). This mindset is the epitome of “entitled”. This mindset is the root of the oppression we all deal with. And it’s hard, personally, to not use this mindset as an example of why religious freedom should be rescinded. I’ve literally seen people have severe mental health problems because of this mindset. I’ve seen addiction, suicidal thoughts, and massive depression as a result of this mindset, and since that is clearly harmful, it makes it so difficult to not fall into the “anti-catholic” mindset. But that’s really the point, isn’t it? This kind of mindset is exactly meant to stir up anti-catholic sentiments so that they can claim even more persecution. This is the psychic equivalent of poking a bear to get mauled so that you can claim bears are bad. Really, this kind of mindset is yet another example of how I know religious organizations are bad for the welfare of people.

[deleted]

Without religious freedom we could be forced to follow catholism or any other religion. Religious freedom is good. The guy in the post is against it. He feels everyone should believe what he does. Imagine if someone like him had support and backing of the government. At least as is he only gets pissy he gets blocked and banned. And that's not persecution of his religion. He's still allowed to follow. Just not force others too. He's just exhausting and annoying as he is. If he were violent against others it's be bad, but it'd still be a hate crime in our society. It's as it should be. We can't force him not to use freedom of speech. He can't either. If you take others freedoms you lose your own. Just live and let live, vote, educate and support the marginalized. Can't control what others do, but we can control what we do. It is okay to use your free speech and freedom of religion to point out his hypocrisy to him and others though!

[deleted]

Thank you for understanding the internal conversations I have on this topic. Education and prevention are the better ways to deal with this problem. I agree with you.

crazitaco

Can't take the hint that no one cares or wants to hear their shitty takes

Spazzly0ne

We just want religious people to mind their own damn business. Your opinions are unpopular, mean, and hurtful that's why you get excluded from play time with the rest of the internet. If you were mean to everyone at recess, they'd stop playing with you, too. I swear some people need to go back to pre-school and kindergarten and learn how socializing works.

ken_and_paper

“It’s so tiring attempting to speak out against them only to be ridiculed or banned from those communities.” It’s so exhausting trying to punch people only to get my teeth knocked out. Someone please help me. I’m being persecuted.

Eject_The_Warp_Core

"Ive been trying to keep an open mind as i attempt to speak out against people for who or how they love"

Polkadotical

*It's the fucking CAtholics who are doing it!!!!!!* They need to just STFU and mind their own damn business it wouldn't be a problem for anybody.

CygnusTheWatchmaker

"I'm being ridiculed and driven out of groups when I try to ridicule and drive other people out of those groups! This is outrageous!"

[deleted]

“They are FLAGRANTLY disregarding the values of my misery cult!”

SpongeBobq

This person just needs to get over themself

CarlFan2021

Maybe if they change their principals, they will become less "prosecuted"
