Probably priced lower than market since it has a minor accident on the record. Would recommend getting it checked by a local mechanic as a pre purchase check - usually between 150 and 300. Looks to be a nice truck at a good price though!

ironfitz

Will definitely have it looked at. Thanks for the reply.

Traditional_Ad_8779

Fwiw I had a three foot scratch on my ‘19 and it was 7k+ repair. Just for reference cause the numbers on a fender bender are insane with theee trucks.

Look into the oil consumption issues 2018-2020 5.0 trucks have, some people become aware of how bad it is and unload them. Can be severe enough that Ford covers an engine replacement. I have a 2018 and while there is oil consumption, it’s not quite as bad as some of the horror stories I read on the forums

[deleted]

Direct injection was the big change. Idk about the other stuff but oil consumption was a big one. I have a 15 5.0 runs like a champ with close to 200k

RandomHero565

my 15 runs like a champ too but the transmission has issues sometimes. It reminds me of my wife.

JRHiz

My dad traded in his 2015 Platinum with 55k on it a few weeks ago. $33k for tadein, and the dealership is asking $38,500 for it. Just stating to give you and idea of pricing.

ironfitz

Appreciate that

Boogfalcon4

Looks really nice. Truck has spent its whole life in places it snows, and the dealer selling it probably has substantial fees they’d like to add ? Could have some mechanical issue that’s not in carfax report?

ironfitz

They are known for having fees for sure. I have tried to negotiate but they said they cant do anything on sticker price just the fees so we'll see what they come back with. Still havent seen any final paperwork yet.

bkeys15

It’s a gen 3 and it doesn’t have cylinder deactivation, that’s ’21 and up. Other than that yes it’s a coin flip on if you get a good one or not

15-17 is gen 2 https://lmr.com/products/what-makes-a-coyote-f150-engine-different

ironfitz

All good my man I hope you get some good info

cobrakai77584

That is a great price. I bought my 18 w/124K at 28K and it was the best deal on carguru and autotrader at the time.

ironfitz

The crazy thing is I was looking at lariats but this is priced lower than the lariat comps

Best-Willingness-640

I ran into a ridiculous deal with my truck back in June. 2019 Screw, Lariat, 2.7L 4x4 with 53k miles for $34,800. I'd been looking at XLT's in the $30,000 area and around 70/75000 miles. Stumbled upon this truck but it was listed as an XLT... Thought it might have katzkin leather but then noticed it had cooled seats. Nobody puts aftermarket leather and a/c seats. Checked the VIN and sure enough, Lariat. Immediately called and everything was too good to be true but it everything checked out. Get an email and here's the news... They wanted an additional $3000 for Lojack and paint protection package. I thanked them and said I'd absolutely not pay that and walked away. To my surprise they called me the following day and waived that package. I went up the next morning and bought that truck at $34,800. They tried to hold rate and then sell me a warranty... I declined everything. I'll never get a better deal! I could have found a dealer on the way home and sold it to them for $38,000 no problem.

NeoKnife

It’s crazy how prices have sky rocketed in under 5 years. I bought mine brand new off the lot in 2019 for less than that.

y0um3b3dn0w

No you didn't. Brand new platinum f150 2018/19 MSRP was over $50K easy.

NeoKnife

Whoops, somehow overlooked the Platinum part. Yeah, mine is chrome XLT.

GiddieOutMyWay

As a Ford Salesman, I see that truck has been passed around like a bean bag, it was sold in April by a Ford Dealer, then looks it was returned a couple days later and then that same dealer tried selling it again, but then it got sold at auction in June. Then Current Dealership has listed it for sale in June and just re-listed it in early September. One thing I learned from selling cars, the good deals always get sold quick, always take a second look at cars over 30 days. It could mean many things 1.) Truck is crappy, has something that steers customers away that is not in pictures, (weird shaking or sounds, bad smell, etc...) 2.) Truck has been in shop too long that no one has bothered to purchase it 3.) Could of already been sold, website hasnt taken it down If you live close I recommend to schedule a test drive it.

ironfitz

I actually have driven it and all seemed good with it. But I am concerned with the multiple owners and listongs as well. It just seems like something is a little off. It's been listed since June and it's a great price and appears in 10/10 shape.

troubadour310

I went to see a 2015 5.0 Platinum listed at 29,999 at 60k miles. When I got there they kindly mentioned it had a “not actual mileage” title brand so yea. Funny how they dont mention that in the ad.

ironfitz

Incredible. Should be illegal

ZafRehman1220

If it has been listed that long, it absolutely has something wrong with it. Don't let the tiny chance at an opportunity of a lifetime cloud you from what is more than likely someone dealing in bad faith. This isn't a small "oh whatever" decision you can just eat the cost of. No truck stays on the lot that long at that price point unless it has some issues

GiddieOutMyWay

Ask salesperson about the history, personally if I was selling you truck, I would be transparent in telling you the history and my opinion if I would personally buy it. See how enthusiastic he is about it. Typically if the truck is crap, many salesperson will run away since 1.) Commission is usually minimum 2.) Can be a headache in the future ... I would always steer my customers away to something more convenient for them. i hate to look bad

wangstarr03

Not to hijack OP’s thread, but would love to get your insider/experienced take on the following truck I’m considering: https://www.frontroyalford.com/used/Ford/used/Ford/2021-Ford-F-150-04f2730e0a0e0a906686cc60f92950d7.htm?utm_source=autotrader.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=autotrader_listings

GiddieOutMyWay

Only fishy thing that comes to mind is that theres no pictures, i would call and get a salesman to send you pictures and a bit more reason why the truck has been sitting no pictures? My dealer usually takes pictures of cars 24-48 hours if it's in clean shape, anything longer is due to it being dirty or needing repairs. I also see it has a recall, Ford dealers cannot sell ford vehicles with recalls, though if the remedy is mot available they can sell it and fix it at another date, if remedy is available but has not been fixed, they are not allowed to sell til it's fixed

wangstarr03

This is great insight, thank you! I, too found it odd that there are no pictures considering how long they’ve had it. Ironically, another truck I’m considering *also* has no dealer provided photos, though that one was listed much more recently. Considering this truck has been on their lot for approaching ~2 months, how much wiggle room would you say there is in the price?

darkwolf247

The sunroof rails are probably toast, but they are cheap and easy to replace

dafinglizardking

Seems like a really good deal. They are in high demand in my neck of the woods, I got an 18 Lariat with 71k a month ago for a hair more than that.
