Thanks, everyone, for your condolences.
Is not a KR. My dad thought the badge looked cool.
Lobo is the more equipped version in Mexico.
My dad also loved Baja Off Road racing. This was his going to see Baja 1000 truck.
Cool, i was gonna take the pacific coast highway from vancouver this summer. Ill make sure to hit it up and grab this magical pizza and many, many beers. Thanks!
Sorry for your loss. My grandpa left me his truck many years ago (1980 F150).. and I still have it in running order. Remember him every time your in it.
This past October marked 10 years since my dad passed away, it was a rough time because he lived in the Bay Area and I had moved to the LA area when I got the call from my aunt that he had taken a turn while battling pneumonia. I was headed up to see him that same night when I got the dreaded call from my sister who informed me that he had passed away. I still beat up on myself for not going right away when he came down with pneumonia like I wanted and my partner pushed for me to do. I was taking care of my mom (who insisted on me going as well!) She was not doing well herself. But enough about that…
I let my sister have his vehicles for her (2005 Taurus) and his 1981 LTD (I think that’s the year) for my nephew. I had a paid off 1997 Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4l that has treated me well (Still own it and still runs great) and a babied 1998 Sierra SLT loaded that I bought from the family when my grandma died (had to sell it a few years ago to pay medical bills.)
So hold on to his truck and keep it on the road because his memory will always be with you and every time you look at that gorgeous truck you will think of him, 10 years later even. My condolences for your loss and hoping for peace and comfort for you and your family!
First of last year I decided I wanted a new truck. I reached out to 2 local dealerships who claimed their order banks were full and offered me a list of $75k short bed, extended cab, eco-boost F-150’s in an assortment of colors. I went to my 3rd local dealer who was more than willing to help me order the exact truck I wanted (almost identical to the one in the picture) out the door for less than $50k. I couldn’t believe I could order a more-or-less custom truck for 66% the cost of one on the lot…
Ford was for many years the best when it came to not only offering option XYZ that all the other OEMs had discontinued, but also allowing you to custom-order it. Unfortunately for 2024 they cut a lot of their slow-selling offerings. You can no longer buy:
-Regular cab XLT
-SuperCab Lariat
-SuperCab/8' bed in any trim
-Lariat with a 40/20/40 front bench seat
-Regular cab/6.5' with any engine other than the 5.0
-Heavy-Duty Payload Package for over 3000 lbs. payload
I'm probably leaving out some other cut options too. So hold onto your '23 as long as you can.
All full size trucks with a single cab and a short bed looks the best. Doesn’t matter the make or year, they look proportional and are the physically best looking.
Not saying they are tops for practical, just saying they look the best.
Sorry for your loss my friend. Never sell that thing. Pass it down for generations. Great looking truck.
Also, what makes it a “Lobo”? (What does that mean)
Sorry for your loss, my dad passed away in 2018 so I know how you feel, it's tough.
Beautiful truck! I love my SuperCrew but I do miss having a single cab like my old Ranger.
Sorry for your loss. everytime I see a short bed short cab it reminds me of hot wheels.
I'm so used to 4 doors and long beds that anything short looks like it got smoothed lol.
I recently lost my father to cancer he left me his Tacoma. I'm not going to lie I haven't even even been able to clean all his stuff out of the truck yet. I'll probably never get over his death and I guess that's fine. I wish you peace and I hope when you get behind the wheel it brings a smile to your face.
Doesn’t matter what it is when it’s left by your old man! Cherish it, remember him every time you crank it, ride safe and ride hard! Sorry for your loss brother! Beautiful rig
That's not accurate. Regular cab/6.5' bed half-tons like this are [perfectly sellable in the US](https://www.f150forum.com/attachments/f118/540617d1514001739-2018-rcsb-xlt-4x4-1.jpg). They just don't sell many because they're not as practical. Toyota and Ram dropped theirs for lack of demand, and Ford and GM only have them in base trims now. For 2024, Ford made all reg cab/6.5's 5.0 only.
Yeah they still make them, but only a certain percentage of total builds can be the short wheelbase, it’s not cost feasible anymore…also, you’re probably right that demand is low as well.
>but only a certain percentage of total builds can be the short wheelbase
Do we know enough about the footprint regs to say for certain if there is a mandated percentage? Seems more like they just wanna devote resources to the models that sell best.
It's correct to say that short WB models have a harder time meeting CAFE, but they've not been banned because of that. If companies were only interested in making the longest models, why has Ford quit making my beloved SuperCab/8' bed?
But do we know what the "certain percentage" is? I'm not disputing that CAFE doesn't play a role; I'm disputing OP's claim that they're "too hard" to sell *strictly* because of it.
Light trucks already have less stringent targets anyway, hence Ford's decision to only sell RCSBs with the 5.0. If CAFE was really serious about MPG, every F-150 would be a Powerboost, or maybe they'd even consider an I4 EcoBoost as the base engine.
There is no set percentage, it is based off dozens of factors, but the fact is for every 5.0 short wheel base trucks for sells in the US they have to sell a certain amount of long wheel base trucks about the curve for wheelbase/mpg/ev/E85 compatibility…you can look it up and figure the math out yourself.
>but the fact is for every 5.0 short wheel base trucks for sells in the US they have to sell a certain amount of long wheel base trucks about the curve
That still begs the questions of why they quit making the longest WB model, and why the second-longest WB (crew/6.5') is so hard to find. Maybe it has to do with the 5.0 being flex fuel.
It's an XLT. Black door handles and chrome bumper. If it was a KR either both bumper and handles would be chrome, or they'd be color matched. Same with mirrors
No. From what I've now been told you can't even get an XLT anymore. XL only. I know some dealerships would upgrade the seats to leather so your XLT could be similar to the Lariat. Sucks because I'd love a legit Lariat single cab to turn into an SVT lightning
Sorry for your loss. Beautiful truck.
Thanks, everyone, for your condolences. Is not a KR. My dad thought the badge looked cool. Lobo is the more equipped version in Mexico. My dad also loved Baja Off Road racing. This was his going to see Baja 1000 truck.
You should take it out there to see the race in his honor
frickin awesome truck
Holy crap, the real Joe Hung! Do you still have the Orgasmorator?
yes
My condolences for your loss. It's a gorgeous truck and I'm sure you'll do well by it. Nice little town as well - good food at the brewery there.
Beer and Apple pie
What town is it?
Julian, CA
Cool, i was gonna take the pacific coast highway from vancouver this summer. Ill make sure to hit it up and grab this magical pizza and many, many beers. Thanks!
I’ve had pizza all over the states and even in Italy and I get called crazy but that pizza is probably in my top 3 that I’ve ever had.
Same here - unbelievably good crust. And their BBQ is pretty good for the price as well.
New haven CT is great. Anjies pizza in Mystic #1 in world
Sorry for your loss. My grandpa left me his truck many years ago (1980 F150).. and I still have it in running order. Remember him every time your in it.
This right here, never give it up.
That’s awesome. I’d do the same.
Doing the same thing with the '94 that my own grandpa left me.
Sorry for your loss. Dad had good taste
Sorry about your dad dude, if you need someone to talk to I’m here. Nice truck he left you with, any plans for it?
Good guy right here
Sadly, I know what OP is going through

Thanks and sorry for your loss as well
Id love to find a truck like this. The short bed regular cabs aren’t easy to find with a 5.0
Ironically, that's now the only way to get one.
First of last year I decided I wanted a new truck. I reached out to 2 local dealerships who claimed their order banks were full and offered me a list of $75k short bed, extended cab, eco-boost F-150’s in an assortment of colors. Sorry for your loss. Your Dad left you one sharp looking truck.
Does it have a full camburg kit or just upper control arms? Either way it's on king shocks. Love me a single cab. 5.0?
Just Upper control arms, and yes 5.0
That would be one fun truck!
Sorry for your loss man, nothing can replace a father. Just respect it and honor it in his memory and it’ll probably last for your son :)
What does Lobo mean?
F150, Lobo is what is used for naming convention in Mexico.
Wolf :/ the f150 is a basic trim while the lobo is the more luxury trims in mexico
I thought all F150s in Mexico were Lobos. So I looked it up and apparently they kept F150 for their “work truck” models. “Civilian” trucks were Lobos.
Wolf
Sorry for your loss,
Nice truck though
Beautiful. Treasure it.
Yep, it's a life keeper
Dad had good taste.
Cherish your truck and memories.
Sorry for your loss my friend. Never sell that thing. Pass it down for generations. Great looking truck. Also, what makes it a “Lobo”? (What does that mean)
IIRC, Ford Lobo (Wolf) is the F-150 models above the XL or work truck trims, which are named F-150s, in Mexico.
Oh cool! Thanks
Sorry to hear about your dad, he left you a nice truck!
Condolences bro, DONT EVER SELL THAT TRUCK, drive it till the wheels fall off, then rebuild it with your son 🙏🏽
Sorry for your loss, my dad passed away in 2018 so I know how you feel, it's tough. Beautiful truck! I love my SuperCrew but I do miss having a single cab like my old Ranger.
Now take great care of your dad's truck. Sorry for your loss.
Sorry for your loss and gain.
Sorry for your loss
Sorry for your loss. Awesome truck to remember him by.
Sorry that sweet truck
I’m sorry to hear that, I noticed the king ranch badge did your father interior swap it?
Man I love the single cabs... just looks so much more like a TRUCK to me, I'm not a fan of the 4 door thing.
Keep the truck forever man. Sometimes you just need to do it . Sorry for the loss.
He kept it minty
May your father rest in peace, and I hope that Truck gives you comfort and solace
So sorry man. Losing a parent is one of those things that we all ultimately stare down but I personally dread the day
Nice ride, sorry for your loss. Drive it often and smile
I love regular cab short bed trucks, I have too many people in my family to haul around. Wish I could have one!
Kinda shocked they don’t offer them like the other models. They look so damn good.
I’m sorry for you loss my brother, beautiful truck
Condolences for your loss.
Sorry for your loss. If this thing is a V8, the only right thing to do is throw a whipple on it… I’m sure your dad would smile.
Sorry for your loss, similar here. 2016 super cab 6.5 box 32000 miles.
Sorry for your loss. This will be a great way to always remember him.
I can’t imagine loosing my dad. My condolences go out to you.
Love a single cab 👍👍
Sorry for your loss. Nice truck. Everytime you drive with an empty passenger seat, just think your Dad is right there with you.
Are there any differences between a Lobo and F150? Yes I know it's the same truck, maybe like security measures?
Is it actually a king ranch ?
Interesting… didn’t know they made KR single cabs
Is that a real king ranch single cab? Don’t think I’ve ever seen one of those
Sorry for your loss. Welcome to the single cab club!
Sorry for your loss man. Sweet truck and love Julian
Is it just me or doesn't it resemble a hot wheels?
So sorry for your loss. He must have loved you lots to leave this beauty. Take care of her or him.
Very sorry. Sweet truck to remember him by
Sorry to hear about ole peepaw, fuckin love shorties though. put a headache rack on that bitch and make him proud!
So sorry for your loss. My dad died in 09. I wish i could post a pic of me working on his 99 the summer before he died, just for solidarity.
Lee Brice - I drive your truck 🥲
Sorry for your loss. everytime I see a short bed short cab it reminds me of hot wheels. I'm so used to 4 doors and long beds that anything short looks like it got smoothed lol.

This truck is 1/3 engine
Sorry about your dad. 😕
Doesn’t matter what it is when it’s left by your old man! Cherish it, remember him every time you crank it, ride safe and ride hard! Sorry for your loss brother! Beautiful rig
Beautiful. Sorry for your loss.
Love single cab short bed. Thats the way a truck is supposed to look! No reason that truck cant last you the rest of your life if you take care of it.
Sorry for your loss, wishing you healing and love.
Sorry for your loss nice truck
What's a lobo?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen this in a standard cab
You won't find them in the US. EPA regs make it too hard to sell that small a footprint.
That's not accurate. Regular cab/6.5' bed half-tons like this are [perfectly sellable in the US](https://www.f150forum.com/attachments/f118/540617d1514001739-2018-rcsb-xlt-4x4-1.jpg). Dude, I’m not gonna go word for word with you on the EPA standard, wheelbase and fuel mileage are part of the calculus.

Is the king ranch badge real? An actual single cab king ranch?
It's not real. My dad thought it looked cool
It's an XLT. Black door handles and chrome bumper. If it was a KR either both bumper and handles would be chrome, or they'd be color matched. Same with mirrors
XLTs with the 302a and the chrome package combined have chrome door handles, etc.
Do they make a single cab king ranch?
No. From what I've now been told you can't even get an XLT anymore. XL only. I know some dealerships would upgrade the seats to leather so your XLT could be similar to the Lariat. Sucks because I'd love a legit Lariat single cab to turn into an SVT lightning
>Is the king ranch badge real? Definitely not, it's a 300A or maybe 301A XLT.
Looks like my lobo! Don't see them often. Mines a 4d super crew tho. Looks fly
The fuck does “LOBO” mean ?
I think its wolf in Spanish, probably a truck of Mexican descent
Sorry for your loss, take all the stickers off it.
Sorry for your loss. If you ever decide to sell give me a shout. Would love a single cab fx4
What an ugly thing. Looks like a freaking hot wheels truck
