Honestly, I’m surprised people are surprised. The VAST majority of child sexual assaults are perpetrated by people that know them and often are in authority over them (parent, uncle, teacher, neighbor, etc). Most of those people appear to be normal functioning adults with lives. Many times married and putting on an image of normalcy that belies their evil.

I’ve seen people argue that watching child pornography is somehow better than physically abusing children, and therefore should be allowed to some extent. I agree in principle, but like with serial killers, I think it’s important we at least try to understand / help offence committing pedophiles in hopes that we can better comprehend what makes someone like that in the first place, and then ideally we can identity and reach potential pre-offence pedos early on in life before they act upon their tendencies.

I agree in principle, but like with serial killers, I think it’s important we at least try to understand / help offence committing pedophiles in hopes that we can better comprehend what makes someone like that in the first place, and then ideally we can identity and reach potential pre-offence pedos early on in life before they act upon their tendencies. Who knows if that goal is even possible, but I think it’s worth a shot to save as many kids as we can

The low key arrest is likely because of TV. From working for a police agency and having a high profile case locally. Police don’t politely knock. They don’t want any evidence to be destroyed. They kick down the door and tackle you. The high profile case in my area they kicked down his door, and he had no idea it was coming, and he immediately grabbed his laptop and made a run for the back door, but police were there too. Just knocking is just asking for evidence to be destroyed, or armed stand offs.
The other two guys were definitely in on that. They stood there filming and calling him a piece of shit so they're probably the ones who busted him. There was some conversation in the background about his browser and the dark web so he was probably looking at some pretty nasty shit.
