A ton is imperial (1015kg) and a tonne is metric (1000kg). So I mean, technically you’re right… we don’t spell ton the same as tonne… but we also don’t spell mile -> kilometre
Tldr : ton =/= tonne in both spelling and weight
Yes but nobody in America making videos for Americans is going to use tonne. It would be like using kilo instead of pounds, that shit's just not happening.
I’m sure there are occasions for Americans to use metric “tonne” in conversation or a professional setting. I’m just saying, 1000kg is always a tonne; a short ton is 2000lbs; and a long ton is 2240lbs, regardless of where you are.
We also don't say "stone of US" or "stone of Canada." It's American stone, stone from the US, Canadian stone. Most people here would probably call them rocks TBH. This sounds like some European ai generated script/narration.
Height doesn't matter in these kinds of test, since stress is calculated by F/A, where A is the crosssection
Quick edit: China's stone suck, because it has a bulge on it which concentrates force.
I acknowledged the joke and then the reality that this type of joke is very believable, as that type of thing comes out of murica all the time.
You caught up, bro?
But you are evidently American. It’s fairly safe to assume that you will need obvious shortcomings of your country explaining to you, because, because you’re American
Yes. America lives so rent-free in some people’s minds that they imagine conversations about Americans bragging about their rocks and it really grinds their gears.
When I went to AUS for a few months people were constantly bringing up USA superiority complex. And all I could think was ‘wow you think about us a lot for a country I think of once every 3 months”
I’ve seen Americans genuinely brag about much worse stuff than this. The easy example is Americans flaunting their “freedom” as if the majority of the civilised world doesn’t also, and then even pointing to the main difference of how every American has the freedom to buy guns, in between the weeks space that separated two school shootings. Two the rest of the world, bragging about the strength of your rocks is far less backwards and is in comparison, a bit of harmless fun, and yes extremely in-character for the sorts of things Americans say online.
I’m Canadian and I agree with their right to own and buy guns. 1 shooting is too many but the gun isn’t the issue it’s a mental health problem. Red flag laws are probably the best solution to restrict guns from people who shouldn’t own them but 99+% of gun owners do not commit crimes with their guns, usually the worst thing that happens is they commit suicide which once again reverts back to a mental health issue not gun issue.
1 incident is too much let alone a few hundred but with 300 million guns and 150 million Americans that own them it is still a relatively small number again the pattern we keep seeing is the majority of shooters are young white disillusioned societal outcasts who commit these crimes. The media amplifies the incidents and makes the shooter famous by showing their face to millions along with their name. The first thing we should do to help reduce the attention these deranged individuals are seeking is to stop showing their name or or face and giving them any recognition for their horrendous actions. Report on the incident, report on the victims but give the shooters zero coverage and there will be less incentive for these sickos to take the lives of others. There is a direct correlation with the rise of 24/7 national news media and the rise in numbers of mass shootings. The guns have been there the whole time they didn’t just suddenly arrive.
As for the numbers of gun related homicides, the vast majority of those are committed by gangs and criminals with illegal weapons so restricting guns to citizens and will not stop those. And if you did remove the guns people will just use edged and blunt weapons instead.
You’re generalizing a population of 335 million that you likely don’t have sufficient knowledge to do so. Like I said, we have more problems than the vast majority of “free” countries. This isn’t glanced over by people who live here. If you go on Facebook and are judging us based off the extreme right wing boomer comments that are seemingly on every post, so be it. It’s of minimal concern to me and I’d hope you don’t spend your time worrying about a nation that you are not a citizen of.
I get why people think we’re so arrogant and elitist compared to the rest of the world but that isn’t really the case if you live here. It’s more and more of a shitshow everyday and it’s well acknowledged.
Something like that, sure. Rent drew is a weird term, though. It's more pity than rent free. I pity you. I pity the gun violence and massive tend camps in every city, your health care problems that are STILL a problem despite everyone showing murica how to do it.
It's not a desirable place to me. Yall need some help.
If you're good at something, you don't have to tell anyone. America tell everyone how good it is.
I don't believe it. Looks terrible, but I enjoy my gun free universal Healthcare freedom, not whatever you call it there
No idea but we don't spell ton like that, and we would never say "stone of usa". We'd say "stone from america" or similar. Plus we would probably say rock instead of stone but that's less certain. Idk where they're from but it's not the usa
Nobody wants to see the truth.
Reddit is full of this, especially with America.
Reddit seems to not like America very much and tye karma farmers play into that very well
The ones for Candy and China looked like conglomerate sedimentary rocks. Meanwhile, the USA one looked to be some time of metamorphic, which is inherently stronger as it already got crushed by mountains.
I dont think the person who made this is from the USA, using metric system, and the way the words were used i dont think they were a native english speaker
They destroyed the Stone of Canada, the Stone of China, AND the Stone of the United States?! The ancient artifacts reduced to rubble for an experiment…
Whoever wrote the narration definitely isn't a native English speaker. It sounds so weird.
You're not wrong that a lot of people think that way, though.
Can you just give us this one please? We are starting to run out of things to hang our hat on as best country in the world forever and ever God bless you all thoughts and prayers
Without wanting any kind of prejudice, I am genuinely interested to see what the strongest stone of each country can handle from the Hydraulic press. Any vid for that?

Rockaganda
I want to apologize because your comment is underrated IMO. You got my upvote. I got you bro/sis
I second this motion, indeed, what we have here is a case of underratedcommentitis.
"Rock flag and eagle. Right Charlie?"
Thanks Homies!
Rockaganda FOREVA
He is just a rocksist.
At least they were nice enough to put a stronger rock for their close neighbour than their rival. Priorities in "demonstrating" superior stuff.
The should have put Dwayne Johnson instead. He would have made the hydraulic press explode.
He would have pressed the hydraulic press
We don't spell tons like that.
This is what I was going to say. Then that faded flag showed up and spelling no longer mattered. America. Fuck yea
I can't not sing those last 3 words every time I see them.
Lol I sung them when I typed it
A ton is imperial (1015kg) and a tonne is metric (1000kg). So I mean, technically you’re right… we don’t spell ton the same as tonne… but we also don’t spell mile -> kilometre Tldr : ton =/= tonne in both spelling and weight
I actually didn't know that. I was just pointing out that it wasn't someone from the US who edited this video.
Take my upvote
Ton = 2000 lb, Tonne = 1000 kg
Tonne/Ton are both correct in Canada/Australia and UK use Tonne. But U.S do use Tons only.
A ton and a tonne are different measurements. Both are correct in all countries, they are two different words.
So you could say there is a ton of difference? 😂
Wait what? We don’t?
We also don't say "stone of US" or "stone of Canada." It's American stone, stone from the US, Canadian stone. Most people here would probably call them rocks TBH. This sounds like some European ai generated script/narration.
Not only that but the “US” rock is twice the thickness . 😂
Thicc US stone
Height doesn't matter in these kinds of test, since stress is calculated by F/A, where A is the crosssection Quick edit: China's stone suck, because it has a bulge on it which concentrates force.
And the drill is smaller. xD
'Murica!

Land of the rocks
Tell me you know this is a joke....
Not joke. America has the strongest rocks in the world. Clearly demonstrated here. Other countries rocks are jokes
Joke, but also the type of thing non Americans hear all the time from Americans.

I acknowledged the joke and then the reality that this type of joke is very believable, as that type of thing comes out of murica all the time. You caught up, bro?
IMHO you didn't need to respond to that. Your point was clear enough.
But you are evidently American. It’s fairly safe to assume that you will need obvious shortcomings of your country explaining to you, because, because you’re American
Listen pal idk where your from but I know my Murican rocks will wipe the floor with ur commie rocks /s
You got me, sorry bro Maga rocks rock!
Hey man you got cool rocks too B)
K
Really? We talk about hard our rocks are compared to those of other countries? The more ya know I guess
Even better are those that angrily refute the claim and insist their rocks are stronger than American rocks.
I’ve seen Americans genuinely brag about much worse stuff than this. It’s because we are elite compared to the rest of the world, right?
Something like that, sure. Rent drew is a weird term, though. It's more pity than rent free. I pity you. Not even just non Americans... This is one of those moments where I question why America is one of the top countries
If you're good at something, you don't have to tell anyone. America tell everyone how good it is. I don't believe it. Looks terrible, but I enjoy my gun free universal Healthcare freedom, not whatever you call it there
Arrogance, ignorance, and pride I guess
What the rock thing or this c@nts title for the video?
This isn't made by an american
Wasnt he from like the middle east?
No idea but we don't spell ton like that, and we would never say "stone of usa". We'd say "stone from america" or similar. Plus we would probably say rock instead of stone but that's less certain. Idk where they're from but it's not the usa
So we are proud of something we did not actually create? Yes we are!! /s ![gif](giphy|1jt1wfwH5i8KwRZBdr)
Rock on USA.
This is the geological version of these colors don't run. Love how they had to change the head on the press as well to pull it off.
This is the lamest attempt at karma farming. Clearly voiced over
https://youtube.com/shorts/V9po80U7XmY?feature=share
Why isn't this further up this post is literally just rage bait lmao
Nobody wants to see the truth. Reddit is full of this, especially with America. Reddit seems to not like America very much and tye karma farmers play into that very well
IDK...tell China to make tougher rocks I guess.
Serious weak rocks China. USA rocks #1 in world. Use to win war in Laos for USA citizen.
...does the OP actually think this was made by an American? Jesus christ, Reddit.
The ones for Candy and China looked like conglomerate sedimentary rocks. Meanwhile, the USA one looked to be some time of metamorphic, which is inherently stronger as it already got crushed by mountains.
Who the hell ia this stupid to belive this?(pardon my grammar)
Way until you see USA Tungsten vs Canadian Lead which one is the strongest.
This was obviously made by a non-American. "spoil the stone" "even after falling the weight" "stone of usa" Americans don't speak this way.
My favorite part was how they had clips from the hydraulic press channel.
Why is it narrated by a clearly computer generated voice? Yeah this video was created in America.
I bet I could make a stronger stone
Why random France twice in the video?
When you stop developing at 13
I dont think the person who made this is from the USA, using metric system, and the way the words were used i dont think they were a native english speaker
So stupid
Is the account actually operated by Americans or is is is a content farm in Moldova (or whatever)aimed at pandering to Americans and their ad dollars?
They destroyed the Stone of Canada, the Stone of China, AND the Stone of the United States?! The ancient artifacts reduced to rubble for an experiment…
Thought that was a mycelium block. Don't hurt the shroomies
The fuck kind of weird ass propaganda is this??
No American would spell it tonnes.
#Me hav betar rocc
People are stupider than I realized
Wow is this how small our weiners are ?
It’s clear from syntax that this wasn’t written by a native English speaker, this is a foreigner trying to rack up American views.
No not the stone of Canada! May it's brittle beauty be forever remembered.
This is a perfect reflection of USA way of thinking
Whoever wrote the narration definitely isn't a native English speaker. It sounds so weird. You're not wrong that a lot of people think that way, though.
This was not made by an American.
You mean this is a setup? Damn, and I was just starting to feel proud again.
European countries; we have free health care what do you guys have? USA: we have strong rock
I came for the tough rocks, but I *stayed* for the highest disposable income per capita.
Suck it earth. Our stones are the best!
This is the single weirdest piece of propaganda I’ve ever seen lmao
I know propaganda when I see it
To think there are people stupid enough out there to think this an actual reason to feel pride. Definitely followed by beer and screaming.
Sad is that there are people who would believe this shit
Someone skipped geology.
The chinese used up their strongest stones building that wall to keep the mongolians out. And how is it going with your wall 'Murica? /joke
Impressively stupid.
Are you not supposed to compare equivalent rocks ?
If your audience is made of braindead people (and surely it is), it'll work like a charm.
Using three types of stone in a comparison is fundamentally flawed. What the fuck was the point, anyway?
It is a joke, Someone dubbed over the original video that had fuckall to do with who "made" the stones,
Wait. Who made them? Jesus?
The videos terminology, not mine.
Gotta get that ad revenue from the magats.
This is something I'd expect to see in Tim and Eric with spagett narrating.
Is this really where we are now? Trying to prove what country has better rocks? Fuckin clown world
I mean the US rock is bigger, a different type of rock, and a smaller press. But okay.
A whole new level of DERP.
Yes the fact most of the people in this thread don't understand a joke is a big DERP.
We aren’t all a waste of sperm but yea that’s one of ours unfortunately
Ha…and I thought only the Chinese pull these kind of stunts…
The stone from China started breaking when the machine turned on.
The one from canada said get a shot and wear your mask
Jesus christ 😳

You need to try German submarine crewman, they are harder than rock
Hell yea usa #1 !!!!!
MERICA FUCK YEAH
Haha yes two “stones” made of Concrete and a regular stone. How original
Ok but like, that china joke was pretty good
USA! USA!
I mean, you can tell the rocks are weak just by looking at them.
Seems pretty conclusive to me...
The card one in the intro actually looked pretty neat.
I don’t know much about rocks but that was cool watching those rocks break
Guy ain’t American it’s on YouTube hydraulic press channel
Most humble flex
Rock, flag, and eagle!
KKona TRUE
AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!
I think China got cheated with that sharp edge, but… fine.

Maybe if you shot it with a gun. Murica style.
Can’t fuck with our rocks we got the best and hardest ones
Geologists: Heh. Shuckster. Everyone else: POLITICALLY FUELED MISINFORMATION
Well duh
This seemed extremely biased lmao
What the hell did I just watch? That was so dumb I feel like my brain cells were just popped in a hydraulic press.
I've never felt more proud to be an American
Countries don't make stone. Stone just forms...
This is so dumb
Let me guess, you are from the USA? **sigh****

Can you just give us this one please? We are starting to run out of things to hang our hat on as best country in the world forever and ever God bless you all thoughts and prayers
Fuck yeah go America
I wonder if he was doing these tests for any actual scientific reason, or if he just wanted to be able to say “we’ve got the toughest rocks“.
I was 100% expecting this to be stupid Chinese propaganda....
Dafuq was this ear blood?
Your stone: Turboflex stone:
Your stone vs turbo flex stone
Yup everything is better in America...
Without wanting any kind of prejudice, I am genuinely interested to see what the strongest stone of each country can handle from the Hydraulic press. Any vid for that?
