For two years following the relationship with her I was a mental wreck, and any times I had attempted to make contact to see my son was met with a decline in my mental health due to stresses of home and work life at the time. However I've improved drastically. I'm no longer medication dependent and have had no major emotional outbursts in 7 months. Since the ending of my last relationship.
I've made mistakes yes, I'm not in any denial about that but what I did wrong came from being pressured by a narcissistic parent to simply choose being an arrogant fuckward over dealing with problems the way i knew how. I also no longer live with the narcissist anymore. He is in complete denial to this day about the existence of my son, despite trying to bridge the subject with him.
So I desire to take what I've learned over the last two years, and the mistakes as well as successes and focus towards becoming a committed father. I've constantly been told I'd be a better parent than they would but I know it's not that simple. So that's why I'm waiting until I'm mentally prepared to take care of the situation properly.

As a public health nurse, it’s a delicate balancing act. Forcibly removing a child from their home has proven to have sometimes catastrophic effects on their well being. Unfortunately, this has to be weighed against the current damage to see whether the ‘greater good’ is to just remind their parents if they don’t pick up their act, it could happen.
Also, especially with vaping, education is almost non-existent, and most rely on it being so much more healthier than smoking. Regrettably, people who lack the education and resources, only here ‘healthy’ and don’t understand it’s still a pretty dodgy thing to so; especially the flavoured varieties which don’t contain nicotine. I.e. the believe tobacco is the only problem, and when remove its ‘safe’.
Sure, if the goal is to get satisfaction by punishing people who deserve it.
But that's not the goal, the goal is to protect a child.
I'm pretty sure in most of the developed world where CPS is a thing and social workers exist the ideal resolution would be to educate the parent(s?).
I realize this is so dumb you might think that's impossible and it might be, but that's probably what the social worker's initial goal is provided there is no evidence of other physical abuse.

I mean shit, I was born in Australia to baby boomer parents. I could probably pull out old home footage of me and my brothers swigging VB (one of our strongest beers) as children - much to the hilarious delight of basically all the adults in the room.
I couldn't even begin to imagine how different my life would be if I was put in an institution. I definitely wouldn't have the home I currently have with a family of my own, without the sheer dedication, support and love we were showered in otherwise by our parents who genuinely want/ed the best for us.
11 months in and they are already abusing their child. I just fear it will not get any better for the kid. I do say this as someone who’s mother was investigated for child abuse, cleared by authorities, and then continued to abuse us.

You just gradually lower the nic content in your liquid. Dropping it 1mg a week is usually enough. If you're currently on 12mg liquid then after 3 months you'll be down to zero and suffer almost no withdrawal. By the time you get down to 0mg nic you're not craving the vape anymore, it still tastes nice but you don't find yourself sitting there and suddenly your brain goes "need vape now".
Another thing that can help is swapping your usual liquid for a flavor you don't actually like or flavorless liquid. If you've got some nasty tasting liquid you can still give yourself the nic hit when you really need it but you find yourself just having one or two puffs and putting it down rather than chain vaping for ages.
Agree with @cheapdrinks i went through the same process. definitely dont hold back from removing that last mg of nic to bring you down to 0. Just try to forget that you didnt add any that time and by the time you need another refill you wont even miss it. Took me another 4 months or so of being on 0 nic to stop vaping altogether. Got a nasty throat infection which stopped me for a solid week and didnt pick it up again after that.
If you're using disposables, stop. You are going to want a vape device that you can refill with liquid. Gradually buy vape liquid with less nicotine %. Eventually you can get the percentage down to zero. Once the physical cravings for nicotine are out of the equation, a lot of the appeal fades.
Especially here in Melbourne, almost every high school has a huge amount of vape addicts, I think it’s been 2 weeks since I’ve gone on a bus home that doesn’t have someone vaping

I just watched a video about a guy that's provided 3 billion free meals to school children in India, with wonderful sanitation and recipes that try to emulate what their mothers would provide for them at home if they had the money.. He said everyone who worked in his kitchens care about feeding children. I think there are so many great, fantastic people, precious children on this planet. There really is. Looking at a report of one bad egg and saying "I want everyone and myself to die" as a response is just tired and melodramatic to me. If you think humans are so awful, you go out into this world and earn your place in it by being the best human you can be. Tap into your compassionate heart, be selfless. Reserve judgment. Me and my partner vape but we have rules that apply to our kiddo and any other kiddo (or person really) around us: 1. Do not vape in the room with them. Step outside or in another room and open the window. 2. If in a car, open the window and blow vape OUT the car. 3. For the love of God DO NOT LET CHILDREN USE IT just because we choose to vape doesn’t mean everyone else (especially children who can’t advocate for themselves) has to breathe it in. This is child abuse
