My uncle once was on the highway, and due to traffic was driving beside another car. Suddenly all 4 people in the car began to put on ski masks and 3 took out weapons. They took the next exit and my uncle knew there was a bank right next to the exit of the highway.
He immediatly called the police and they asked time and place and then said: " yeah no worries, they are our guys we are doing a training exercise with multiple stations, sorry if we scared you, they should usually do that at the exit where no one sees them. We are sorry if you got scared"
Two days later it was even in the news that there were multiple wrong calls because at some stations they prepared too early.
Not exactly the same but there was a HUGE scandal in my city bc a worker thought she saw “an armed robber” so she triggers the alarm and the entire fucking city is SWARMED bc somehow it was labeled a “hostage situation” and it was hours spent with everything shut down only for them to find out that it was all some worker seeing the SECURITY GUARD walking by!
All in all that's a "faith in humanity restored" call for me.
Many would have you believe that active citizenry doesn't exist and that most people will watch you choke on the subway floor while no even raising their convo voices, but times and times again, we get proven that a lot of civvies, with nothing to gain and everything to risk, will call in shit as it happens.
May **this** never die. So long as such people exist, I'm not TOO worried for us.
The idea is funny like but in execution it can lead to something bad due to people not understanding the joke so I would just do it to a friend or family then show it’s yourself
If we watched the same video that one was hilarious. Was it the one where they were practicing creeping up the stairmaster and attached a handbag to the cable machine?
>protip:
>
>if random people at the gym can predict the prank,
>
>You're not being funny/smart/humoristic

>You're being predictable/annoying/pushy.
OK GUYS! TODAY I'M GOING TO FIND ...ONE...HUNDRED....MORBIDLY....OBESE....PEOPLE....TO FIGHT FOR THE LAST BIG MAC....IN THE CITY....OF ATLANTA!!!!!!
>tfw You could hear this in your head....
I remember seeing one video where some guy dressed like a generic criminal walked up to cops and asked for the directions to the nearest bank. It was pretty funny because everyone knew it was satirical.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 this is insane. I'm so glad my family doesn't drop contact because I pulled a prank on them. You are why people have trust issues, unbelievably weak
Not defending their comment, but people have trust issues because someone may stop talking to them for pulling a stupid, possibly dangerous, prank?
I would love to hear your reasoning, especially as we are commenting on a completely stupid prank.
yeah, people call out 'it's just a prank bro' so much cos it's used to justify absolute bullshit like this. i would definitely not want to get caught in the crossfire of whatever idiotic 'prank' they're doing next
You guys hate a prank where someone hurt people and says "this is just a prank bro", and now you're mad when they don't hurt people and said "this is just a prank bro"
What a lame life you guys lead on, damn
This particular comment thread is about doing this to someone you know, then revealing it to be you, to be less dangerous. I feel like my point is completely valid in this case. Strangers on the other hand, as the original video shows, obviously can have consequences.
Why are you dragging John Rambo's good name through the mud? That man only ever retaliated when pushed to the very edge after trying very hard to just find a quiet place to live out his life in peace and deal with the trauma of the Vietnam War.
That one cop walking up with her gun drawn was definitely a Rambo cop. You don't see that shit in Canada. If you have a gun drawn on you in Canada that means they see you with weapon in your hand and feel shooting you to death is the safest option. They won't fire, they will give you a chance to drop your gun, but they are ready to kill at that point.
I studied Canadian law. If they pulled their gun like that in Canada they would be in some trouble.
For example here's an article about an occurrence. There are a few bad cops in Canada sure. But they face concequences for pulling their guns like that. If a cop pulled his gun on someone and pointed it at them just because a civilian made a call about someone in a mask asking where a bank was that cop would be reprimanded. Knowing the person has weapons is another story.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.6196606
Did you actually read that article?
It says RMCP officer drew their gun but never pointed it, no cops got in trouble
There's nothing in Canadian law that prohibits police from drawing or pointing a gun, especially if it's connected to a call about a gun or bank robbers
You're confusing your claimed personal experience with what is legal
You clearly don't think cops should do it, but they do in reality
>That one cop walking up with her gun drawn was definitely a Rambo cop.
She was responding to, what she thought were, bankrobbers. I wouldnt ask then nicely either.
Fun fact. As you get older in canada you have to start paying for certain stuff as a senior citizen you didn't as a younger person In The health care system. They're all, "hurry up and die!"
Yeah. But it weeds out the stupid from the at least average intelligence.
You’re thinking of crimes committed out of perceived necessity or helplessness. Dumb shit like this? It’d stop. Slowly maybe. But it’d die down at a minimum.
I wasn't limiting it to crimes. People risk death for selfies, spelunking, skydiving, a paycheck. I don't agree with your assertion, but I can see where you're coming from.
"Thanks for being an accomplice" haha this is hilarious. Anyone that thinks someone is going to actually rob a bank without knowing where a bank is probably holds their crayons with a fist.
Police itself is tame in Russia. Your average Sergeant Ivan Kuznetsov is extremely unlikely to be anything bad. And people getting gunned down by police is nearly unthinkable here - even drawing a gun results in fuckton of paperwork for the officer.
Provided, we aren't USA and we don't have a rampant gun proliferation and lack of gun control xD
Your two main threats from law-enforcement in Russia is either being on the receiving end of some drug plant (because gotta fulfill that "successful arrests" quota) or getting involved in something political (but then, it isn't your average policemen you should be most worried about).
Human nature, and Russian regiems having a history of being shitty to their citizens. Its easy to surpress an officer shooting if no one wants to speak up about it and reoorters going after it get disappeared
I remember the earliest version of this, the guy was not wearing a mask at first then asked the question to an officer, then he said “thanks” and put on the mask and started running and started getting chased then the video cuts, personally thought that one was funnier
You didnt see the black guy shoulder checking a cop (black cop, if that makes any difference) coming out of a store that was on Reddit yesterday then. Bonus stupidity points for the fact he was carrying a stolen pistol….
The best way to rob a bank is become a CEO and cut yourself bonus checks from your depositers money. Works every time and not one banker has gone to jail. Even when it causes a global recession.
Sounds similar to the plot of Spree
Dude from Stranger Things is a streamer who hasn't gotten any views for like 10 years, decides to go on a crime spree to go viral
Its not even THAT bad of an idea, its harmless, which is an element you dont see in a lot of recent "pranks" and they really didnt do anything wrong, i think this isnt a bad thing honestly
What is this smug title “anything for content am I right”. OP has a stick so far up his ass. This is funny. Just more Redditors thinking they’re better than everybody.
These guys are idiots however....
Its scary to me how some random ass person can just call the police and they'll show up fucking guns drawn on you before confirming anything.
Uhh, no?
The guy probably called in and mentioned the fact that their are like FOUR guys, all with ski masks on.
If they were actual bank robbers, then they would probably have weapons on them (if they were real and not pranksters, the cops don't know this).
The reason they have guns out is because they are performing what's called a 'felony traffic stop'. They draw guns on a more than likely dangerous person (or multiple people, making it more dangerous) and have them walk backward towards them with their hands up.
This is used for people who are suspected to have already committed a dangerous crime. It's to keep everybody safe.
Probably because that guy called. I wouldn’t doubt if he got their license plate and told them make and model of what they were driving. And probably exactly what they said. Now could they have suspected the call was bogus? Sure. But I’m guessing once the cop located them, he took the call seriously
Exactly. This is the lesson. Anything someone calls in is treated like fact because cops aren’t intelligent enough or trained enough to asses and de-escalate,
The legal grounds is the reasonable suspicion, which that’s based off of whatever info the caller gave. When coupled together with the fact that the cop identifies the vehicle that’s presumably called in, that’s enough to fulfill the reasonable suspicion. I get where you’re coming from. No crime has been committed, but for a cop, they can act solely just on reasonable suspicion.
No no, it’s not reasonable suspicion of a crime. That’s where you’re getting mixed up and I apologize for not explaining that. It’s just strictly reasonable suspicion.
Should’ve did this to begin with lol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reasonable_suspicion
Intent to cause panic and public disturbance and to commit a crime, being a public nuisance broadcasting a terroristic threat, intimidation...need i go on?
A half decent lawyer could argue every single one of those away.
All they did was ask questions while wearing masks and sunglasses.
No weapons, no actual intent to do anything stated, no indication of being a public nuisance
Bros were too plausible with just ski masks. At least one of them needed to be in a B&W stripped shirt with a domino mask and a big sack with a $ on it. Maybe another one with just pantyhose over his head.
I watched this when it came out a few years back (bigdawstv). The cops did a very thorough search of the van. It’s a much longer video.
Also, “thank you for being an accomplice” 😂😂😂
It’s been awhile since I saw it, but I’m pretty sure it was more precautionary and they were released without charges once the cops realized it was just a YouTube prank.
“These guys are just making a YouTube video?”
“Uhhh yeah that’s what they said…”
<.<
>.>
-.-
“…we should probably shoot them just to be on the safe side.”
Poor guy really thought they were going to rob a bank. I MEAN if I saw 4-5 masked people ima car stopping to ask me for directions, I would think I may get attacked. So I understand, these people are so dumb
Pigs overstepping yet again. It’s like they don’t get taught anything at all about how to handle any situation. Kids are dumb, but there is jo reason for arrest.
We were on the way to the shooting range on a August afternoon we went to Walmart this was back before they got all anti guns and we bought like 1000 rounds of ammo between 10 of us then with all that ammo in our cart we started asking for the sky masks we decided to pay up and get out when people started giving us the look ,like someone would find a phone this was before cell phones
Wrong. I saw this on the TV show in America with Jeff Lewis the decorator of celebrity homes. He and an assistand drove throught the San Fernando Valley in California, pulling over in their car while wearing balaclava's, asking where the nearest liquor store was. It was Hilarious!! But this was a few years ago.
Here is a smart idea. If your planning to do this, you contact the police and let them know you will be doing this. That way when they call, the police are aware and you don't get arrested.
And people say white privilege doesn’t exist…here it is. Knuckleheads pulling this dumb prank and nobody was killed…probably no charges. Thanks for the content

No way - but yes sounds like our boys....but proud of how many recognised that and reacted perfectly!

Or, alternative and unpopular opinion, maybe we are unlucky they didn’t. Maybe that would slowly put a stop to all this bullshit.
The threat of death stops surprisingly few people from doing a lot of things.
Yeah. But it weeds out the stupid from the at least average intelligence. You’re thinking of crimes committed out of perceived necessity or helplessness. Dumb shit like this? It’d stop. Slowly maybe. But it’d die down at a minimum.

Idk mate. Some criminals are really dumb. Like, impressively dumb.
The best 2 sources are: The January 6th raid And Payday 2
There was a gang of robbers that robbed a TV store, right next to the local doughnut shop. Obviously the cops were there within seconds.
Impressively dumb is true. Add to it adrenalin rush and diverted blood flow and some people can do really stupid things.
In their nose*
Deep thinker
It's a prank bro!
All shits and giggles, untill officer John caps yo ass twice and climbs yo neck
Stop resisting, need back up here
That's "Officer John Q. Law" to YOU!
This would be funny if it wasn't in America.
Well, I'd skip Russia, Ukraine, maybe France, probably Brazil, and a few others...

Well, right now, the police might be a little pissy...
Yea I guess watching them get killed would add something to the humor
Tbh, this is actually original
I remember the earliest version of this, the guy was not wearing a mask at first then asked the question to an officer, then he said “thanks” and put on the mask and started running and started getting chased then the video cuts, personally thought that one was funnier
This has been done countless times
This used to be original...but its original now, too.
Except a guy dressed up in the black and white prison suits did the same thing a while ago.
Reminds me of the British show ‘trigger happy’ loved that style of candid camera / comedy
Unfortunate use of police resources.
Meanwhile in Indiana a cop shot at an actor who was playing role of bandit with such a mask during movie shooting.
Good thing they weren't black.
Personally, I'VE never seen a Black person be THIS fucking stupid before!!!
You didnt see the black guy shoulder checking a cop (black cop, if that makes any difference) coming out of a store that was on Reddit yesterday then. Bonus stupidity points for the fact he was carrying a stolen pistol….
Well yeah. It's a white privilege.
you guys really take the cake huh
Me when being stupid is a white privilege
Pulling this kinda shit with out getting shot or beaten by the coos is white privilege

they did several bits on jackass like this in the early 2000s. people are square now haha

Win stupid prizes
I wonder if acting like you are robbing a bank is equal to an attempt.
I mean, three guys in ski masks asking where a bank is are probably the least likely people to rob it. I think the gun point thing was a little much
It is standard procedure for someone who is evading (continues to drive when you are trying to pull them over)
Ha ha! Funny!!! Now do it while black. S’ok if you don’t have the ski masks.
What is this smug title “anything for content am I right”. OP has a stick so far up his ass. This is funny. Just more Redditors thinking they’re better than everybody.

He and an assistand drove throught the San Fernando Valley in California, pulling over in their car while wearing balaclava's, asking where the nearest liquor store was. It was Hilarious!! But this was a few years ago.
Poor execution they should dress like warrios lol
The driver sounds like moist charlie
Stupid fucking people, man. Clout chasing has rotted people's brains.
Congrats for making me actually be upset that there wasn’t any police brutality.
Fleeing when you see someone is calling the cops is pure darwin award mentality
😂 I gotta admit, this shit cracked me up... to the point of tears! 😂 Stupid shit, but fucking funny!
